A wink and a Smile is a wonderful small business. They make you feel totally at ease… and that’s coming from someone who is never comfortable at a dentist office.
They seemed to have been able to strike the perfect balance between, a small intimate feeling small business, and a state of the art modern eye and dental practice. The staff is very professional and knowledgeable. Even having the patience to put up with my changing which glasses I wanted…4 times!

WARNING: Stay away from this practice!!! Dr. Leonardo Lee is a narcissistic, egotistical, self-​centered dentist. He orchestrates directives to his staff, especially Meg and Vanessa, and does not personally maintain communication with his clients. His work resulted in an oral nerve damage. He attempted to fix the damage in three follow up visits that were all initiated by me. It still has not been fixed and when I requested a copy of my records he denied them stating that I had to pay the balance in full before the records could be released. Who would really pay for a service when more damage was done than correction. I researched the Virginia Board of Dentistry regulations and saw that it was an ethical violation that he was withholding my records due to outstanding financial matters. When I brought this to his attention he quickly released the records and then had the audacity to demand full payment. He then issued numerous threats to remit payment within 24 hours or else he would increase the balance by 5 times the amount owing and turn it over to a collections agency. Dr. Lee, Meg, & Vanessa all willfully and knowingly demanded payment while I was still in discomfort from his work. Further exacerbating this situation is that while he was doing the last procedure he got very angry when I asked for an explanation as to why the nerve damage occurred he did not immediately answer instead he looked at my 4 year old daughter who was sitting very quietly watching videos on the phone and he proceeded to issue a verbal reprimand that she better turn down the volume on the phone!!! Needless to say my daughter and I were in shock that he would speak in this tone and who does he think he is to be issuing verbal reprimands to my daughter. When he was making money off of working with my child he was very nice towards her. DR. LEONARDO LEE LiCENSE should be revoked he is a grossly UNETHICAL and NEGLIGENT dentist. Classic narcissist woes you in and offers alot of perks as a new client but when he does not get his way those tables turn. Do not let the language on his website fool you. They lack patient education and professional practice. Very inept with insurance claims and do not take the time to explain billing to the clients. He is a MONEY HUNGRY dentist who is friendly when he can make money off you and your kids. KEEP YOURSELF and YOUR FAMILY AWAY FROM A WINK & A SMILE. You have been warned!

My family and I had been longtime patients of Dr. Lee’s — even referring numerous other patients to his office. However, we will not ever be returning.
At our last appointment, he tried bullying me into getting a seemingly unnecessary x-​ray for my daughter — telling me he couldn’t perform the cleaning unless she had the x-​ray (it had only been about a year since her last x-​ray and he hadnt even opened her mouth). I had merely asked that I be given the opportunity to research x-​rays further. He «compromised» by letting us wait every 18 months but lied to me and told me that the board would take his license away if he didn’t perform an x-​ray every 12 months.
In the past, the front office staff has always been very friendly and helpful. They didn’t say a peep to us as we checked out that day. Going so far as not even having my daughter pick anything out of the prize box.
All respect has been lost for Dr. Lee and his office.

I chose Wink & a Smile for the convenience of optometry and dentistry in the same location. I found both doctors to be professional, effective, and very attentive. However, in addition to their limited hours, I was not satisfied with the insurance and billing interactions. I was asked to show up early in order to confirm my insurance was accepted. My eye insurance seemed to be fine, but the dental insurance needed more work, but they sent me back without checking. As it happens, they are not in-​network with my insurance and additional x-​rays were taken and services were performed that were not covered. I called ahead, requested they confirm my insurance, showed up early as requested and in the end I find myself with a bill. In my interactions with the staff on these issues I have felt more like a commodity than a patient. I have decided to find services elsewhere.

Office staff are great as well, flexible appt. times & plenty of appt. reminders (which I definitely need!).

A Wink and a Smile has everything going for them. The ladies who run the front desk are knowledgeable, friendly and professional. They make every patient feel welcome and comfortable. Every dental hygienist and assistant has been wonderfully patient and thorough in their examinations and cleanings.
I am especially grateful as I am a patient of A Wink and A Smile but my 5 year old son was not. He received Novocaine at another practice for some cavities and in the afternoon the school called and he had literally chewed through his lip. His dentist was closed and I was seriously considering taking him to the ER. I called A Wink and A Smile and explained the situation, they graciously squeezed us in within 20 minutes of the call to take a look at him. Dr. Lee was very calm in dealing with my anxious five year old and set my mind at ease while he explained what the next steps would be.
I have the up most respect for the team at A Wink and A Smile, because they sincerely care about the happiness and comfort of their patients.

We have gone to A Wink & A Smile a couple of times since they’ve been open (vision side only) and had a good experience one time and the next time the frames we ordered got lost in transit. Due to no weekend hours it took us a while to get back in and pick a replacement frame, but when we did, they rectified the situation and were very professional and made sure we got what we needed and then some! They took a situation that could have gone either way and gave it a good ending and we will definitely continue to recommend them.

Just had my first visit today. Lucy was great! The staff at the desk was as friendly as could be. The eye exam took exactly 30 minutes. I read the rest of the eye exam reviews for other docs in Leesburg and this was the best. You’ll like everyone there… go get your eyes checked here!

Dr. Lucy Lee is great. So, patient as I tried many different contacts to find the best for me. The staff is friendly and helpful. The customer service is outstanding!

The staff was very friendly and warm, even to someone like me who hadn’t been to a dentist in far too long. They were thorough and professional, and the atmosphere was great– they even let me choose a Pandora station to listen to while waiting.

Good customer service, good selection, outrageous prices, completely inept with insurance claims and contacting them.

I have been going to A Wink and A Smile for I believe 4 years for dental and vision. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. The office Manager, Denise is FABULOUS! She always remembers my name and is very good about explaining the details of the why you need the procedures recommended by the Dr. and the subsequent finances.
The eyeglasses/​Sunglasses selection is FANTASTIC! Their frames range from the standard ones carried by your insurance company (i.e. Davis Vision has a separate selection of frames) to Tiffany&Co, Michael Kors and Gucci (to name a few). At the end of the season there are also an ample amount of frames on the sale shelf as well. Dr. Lucy is good about not pushing things that you do not need. When my prescription did not change, she did not push for me to get new glasses. She simply asked if they were doing ok. I chose instead that year to buy prescription sunglasses with my insurance allowance. I was able to get Michael Kors frames and lenses for $ 15!
I recently moved out of the area but will continue to come back to this office even though it is 35 minutes away. I always feel welcomed at this office and you can’t beat the fact that you can knock out 2 appointments at one time!
