Haunted Overload

This was the most awesome haunted walk I’ve ever been to. Outstanding special effects. Scare factor was perfect! Can’t wait to do again next year. Thank you!

Best haunted house ive ever been to!!! The characters costumes were incredibly creative and realistic looking! Even waiting in the line was enjoyable with the scenery and characters walking around! I also love that they had real jack o lanterns not the fake ones I’ve seen at a few other haunted attractions. I was truly mind blown by this place! Highly recommend it to anyone who loves Halloween and being scared! :D

Make sure you buy tickets online in advanced. I tried booking for Saturday night the same Saturday, and they were sold out.
The themes were like movie sets! Amazing actors and effects everywhere. Best haunted house I’ve been to. You walk in alone just you and your group or in my case just the 2 of us. We couldn’t see any customers in front or behind us, which made it perfect for actors to scare us.
However they have no VIP passes, so the line was about an hour but worth the wait.

I really never been to haunted overload before but I would really want to go again next year this year they were already sold out and I was pretty upset about that hopefully they won’t be sold out next year

This place is awesome. The props are amazing and the actors are great. I highly recommend this haunt. Go before the season is over. We went with friends and they loved it.

Props were like none other. Only sell certain amount of tickets so it’s not over crowded… Only wish is that they would advise people to keep the pace, so that you don’t end up with groups of 20.

I’ve been to this haunt several times and each time I am surprised, amazed, and most of all scared out of my mind! Everything is done with craft and care… While we were waiting in line, the Headless Horseman treated us to a very surprising scare… in a perfect scene– coming across an apple orchard with fog in the background. Thousands of hand carved, jackolanterns, the vortex, the crazy ass clowns, I don’t want to give too much away but the actors are amazing and steal the show. The carvings are so spooky in the moonlight. Even though I might see a zombie or other character it was still able to scare the hell out of me when it came to life. If you want something «lighter» you can come during specific days during daylight hours with younger kids. Not only is this an incredible haunt, these people are community conscious and donate to local charity. They have also been featured on ABC and The Weather Channel as one of the country’s best Haunts! You will not be disappointed!

I remember it like yesterday. It was a cool crisp October day in 2007 with a glorious blue sky. I came all the way from Alaska with my niece from Texas to experience Haunted Overload at Coppal House Farm. I can only explain the whole occurrence as otherworldly. It was our first time in New Hampshire and our hearts were full of wonder at the spectacular beauty of the palette of colors of the fall. The skittering leaves blew across the road as we drove up the lane. There was a field of tiny pumpkins with withered vines that led to the old family graveyard. What ambience! We wandered around the corn maze as the sun was setting and made it out just as the night took stage. I can’t tell you how excited I was. Smoky fires scented the air, the full moon was rising, and things started getting spooky. Fog was creeping in and we heard hoofbeats. It was the Headless Horseman on the hugest horse I’d ever seen emerging from the mist. Waiting in line was a Halloween lover’s dream with hundreds of hand-​carved pumpkins. If you looked carefully into the forest there were menacing trees with tortured faces. Screams filled the air as the wind rattled the forest. It was almost our turn to go in, I was so electrified, as having a haunt outside makes it so much more intense and real. I feel weird calling it a haunt because Haunted Overload would be more accurately described as an immense elaborate art exhibition with macabre performance art. Every molecule of this stimulating event is meticulously crafted with care. So Tim Burtonesque. Once inside we were terrified! There was so much to look at. Towering goblins, witches, and werewolves distracted you as the night creatures gave you the fright of your life around every turn. From the second we arrived on the farm till when we left was a total sensory experience. At one point I was so moved I felt tears rolling down my face. I’m a true lover of Autumn and Halloween and now, New England. Haunted Overload is so much more than a haunt, it’s the wonderfully dark and delicious magic of Halloween. Bravo, Haunted Overload, bravo!

Absolutely incredible! It was a crazy maze so well detailed and thought out. All the characters were awesome looking. It was thrilling suspense around ever turn.

First off-​I love me some Halloween. I live in Portland, Maine and just two weeks ago I made the 7+ hour drive to Philadelphia to do Terror Behind the Walls and Pennhearst Asylum, thinking I had to drive far to get a good scare. But OH MY SWEET BABY JESUS-​Haunted Overload is now my favorite Halloween attraction of all time ever in life. We just got back from it and it was awesome awesome awesome. The perfect end to my favorite month. We have found our Halloween tradition and we will definitely be back.

This place is the best. No other haunted house/​attraction even comes close.
This was our second year going, and they completely outdid themselves… which I didn’t think was possible. The time and effort that must go into this — I can’t even begin to imagine. But it shows. Everything here is original. The props are unbelievable. Walking through the woods at night is terrifying enough, but add Haunted Overload to the mix and you’re in for an AMAZING time.
One thing I have to mention is the pumpkins. There are hundreds of them, all different shapes and sizes, lining the paths, all carved, and each lit up every night. It’s quite a sight. The makeup & costumes on the actors are top notch. The walk through is perfect; not too short, not too long (although I wouldn’t complain if it was longer… I would happily walk through this place for hours if it was that long). The scares are great… it’s not just actors jumping out and screaming in your face. I got caught off guard SO many times. I can’t say enough about the props and walk throughs… they are so detailed and so big. I love the unexpected surprises in the middle of the woods… including a circus tent. If you are afraid of clowns, brace yourself. Tickles the Clown is my absolute most favorite character that I have ever encountered at a haunted attraction.
This place does so many things right. You need to buy your tickets in advance for a specific time slot (if a time slot is not sold out they will sell at the ticket booth). Doing this avoids ridiculously long lines. They send you in in small groups, but like any other place, either you catch up to the group in front of you, or the group behind you catches up to you. They effectively break this up throughout the haunt. Actors will stop you and interact with you, and then send you on your way.
I also saw something for the first time ever at Haunted Overload. A dude clinging onto his girlfriend for dear life because he was so scared. It was hilarious.
This one is a must see. The price is right. The haunt is perfect. And above all, when we go here, we have so much fun. On your way out be sure to stop at the farm stand. The apple cider donut was delicious.

I was so impressed by Haunted Overload. I love Halloween and it felt like walking into the Halloween Town in Nightmare Before Christmas. My group stood in line for over an hour but the aura was so fun that it felt like part of the attraction. There were plenty of characters roaming around. Once we got inside it was amazing. The quality of the place is top notch. Walking into the giant green glowing tree was like stepping into another world. I highly suggest that any lover of Halloween thrills checks this place out. It made Spooky World and Witch’s Woods (and most other haunted attractions in New England) look amateur and cheap. I am already excited for next year!

Wow, just wow. Went here this past Friday night and my girlfriend and I were just blown away. You literally step through the entrance and feel like you are on the set of Halloween town. People weren’t lying when they said that the props are like anything you have seen before. The giant skull is just unreal.
It’s a shame this place only has 8 reviews, even one of the actors at the entrance was telling me many of the locals don’t know about haunted overload. Hopefully the special they have coming up on ABC/​NBC will help give them some more popularity.
Fantastic job by the actors, amazing make up and costumes. My ONLY recommendation would be for them to only let a few people in at a time, my girlfriend and I got stuck between a big group ahead of and behind us and we could see many of the scares coming, i bet this will be sorted out though as it was only the first night of the season.
Can’t wait to be back next year!

Went to Haunted Overload last year (2013) and was VERY impressed. I’m usually mildly disappointed by these haunted attractions (e.g., the one in Litchfield, NH [Spookyworld? Nightmare New England?] was a joke), but this one was different. Bigger, more elaborate sets (as noted by most reviewers), and a true sense of suspense as you walked through the forest. I mean, you know it’s all make believe, but this place somehow gets you to suspend that rationale awareness for about an hour, and you move through much of it as if it were real. Right around the first turn they had me: A blue-​lighted swirling, smoking vortex illusion that you must walk through — with no idea what’s ahead. I turned to my wife and mouthed WTF!,…and we ventured forward. Very cool.

I have been going to this haunted attraction since it was a small haunt at the creator’s home. It has been amazing every year to see it get bigger and better. Last year (2013) was the best yet. I can’t wait to visit this year to see all the new surprises they have in store for us. We will be bringing friends for sure!

This haunt has won multiple awards over the years and has been featured in dozens of Halloween material nation wide. It is true what people say, Haunted Overload strives for something most other haunts just don’t seem to get. I like to think of it more like walking into World of Halloween. While other haunts seem to focus more on horror aspects (which is fine by me) these guys make you feel like you’re traveling through the spirit of what is «Scary». Weather you scare easily or not this place is going to leave an impression on you. Not scared by 3 evil rednecks surrounding you with chainsaws? Doesn’t matter when you look up and realize your walking under a 60ft tall jack-​o-​lantern creature.
Not to mention, the place operates on DeMerrit hill farm where you can pick up some cider and nice fall snacks (cider donuts, pastries, etc.) It’s like getting a full serving of the best of October.

I have been wanted to see this haunt for years even way back when it was just a tiny home haunt. I decided this year was the year I was going to make the trek from Central Pennsylvania to Lee, NH. I was not disappointed!
If you’ve been to haunted houses then i promise you have never seen anything like Haunted overload. Massive monsters and sets made from the natural woods in which it resides fill this outdoor walk through. The actors are great and there was plenty of screaming going on. I came on their opening weekend on a Friday night and loved it so much I came back the next night instead of doing some other tourist type activity during my stay a half hour away in Portsmouth, NH.
If you get a chance then do go. It’s both scary and gorgeous to behold, and there’s lots of Fall stuff to buy from the farm store where it resides like apple cider, apples, and these damn big chocolate spiders filled with peanut butter; seriously, they were as big as my damn hand. The only thing I’d add is more port-​o-​johns, heh.

I’m a big fan of horror and suspense. I came here on a Sunday night with my date and honestly I had a awesome time. My date loved the experience even though she kept grabbing my arm as she gets scared easily lol. I will definitely recommend anybody who’s looking for laughs, scares, overall a good time. What I enjoyed the most was the props, different characters and the enthusiasm while working that was displayed !

So I’ve been to dozens of haunted houses over the past few years things including a good handful of the different «Top 13s» on the east coast. Big fancy ones (Universal Horror Nights, Headless Horseman, Bates Motel, etc.) to little local ones (Barrett’s Mansion, Foxboro Jaycees…). Last Saturday I headed up from Boston to check out Haunted Overload with a couple of friends, their 14 year old daughter and her friend.
The Haunted Overload folks just do excellent work. They’re bringing a level of creativity that’s better than anything else I’ve seen anywhere (with possible exception of Blackout in NYC, but that’s a completely different adults-​only thing those guys are doing…). Haunted Overload fits together with a really nice vibe — they «get it» in a way most of the bigger budget places don’t usually seem to. So much cooler to have all the DIY stuff instead of a bunch of rubber corpses, fake blood and animatronics. The fog, the pumpkins, the trees, the woods, the sounds — it all comes together the way a good painting does. A really good spooky Halloween feel. And plenty of scares. Good ones beyond the standard just jump-​out-​and-​say-​boo stuff. The kids loved it and screamed through most of it.
It’s well managed, too. When we went at 8:30 on Sat we heard a security guy saying it was the longest line he had seen. But the wait was reasonable at a half hour or so with different costumed HO people come by to talk to us or scare us. And the pace inside was great no one rushed us and it wasn’t any problem to let other people go by. So we got max scares.
Where they really knocked it out of the park, though, was with the Tickles. If they gave Oscars for Best Performance in a Haunted Attraction, he’d have it nailed. He absolutely terrified my friend while at the same time making her (kind of) laugh. I was in hysterics watching it. Never seen anything better from a haunted house performer. Her comment in note she sent to me a few days later: «That guy is brilliant. Terrifying in exactly the right way. Perfect ending to a real other world.»
Since she scared her so much, I found an email address for Eric, the guy who runs HO and asked him if he could put me in touch with the guy who plays Tickles. Got a super-​fast response from Eric, got in touch with Tickles/​Bill and in no short order Tickles is giving my friend a call on Halloween night and scaring the shit out of her _​again_​! Gotta love the scare that keeps on giving… So anyways, good times were had by all and I think it’s cool that the best haunted house around is pretty much in my backyard. If you like this kind of stuff, check it out.

If you love halloween, and are looking for a mind blowing weekend night out in October, then I totally recomment H.O. These guys build all year long. Everything is hand made, and it really makes you say «OH MY GOD» out loud as you go through. Although it’s a little bit of a ride from the Boston area… it’s worth every second we spent in the car.
Special note: The clowns are insane…
