The Urgency Room

I went back to this Urgent Care for non stop headaches that I had for a week; that nothing helped. The doctor was completely honest and up front about how headaches can have numerous causes and its hard to pinpoint which one (I knew this, so I understood). He prescribed me a steroid to help. I never found a cause for the lasting headache, but the medicine did help and the doctor was very understanding.

There’s not a way to put 0 stars… but if there was that would be it. Went in there recently had a temp over 100.0and green drainage I know I had sinus infection. they did flu test strep test.xray.urine test. guess what all negative. they gave me 4 ibuprofen and told me to stay off work for the next 4 days. after being there for 2 hours… Dr. Davis is a joke. told me it was something viral infection wouldn’t give me anything! I was very mad when I left feeling like they just stole my money. went to reg. Dr. Found out I have very bad sinus infection and got 2 rounds of antibiotics… don’t waste your money or time on this place. I’m never going back.

Clean and friendly. The staff was very compassionate and concerned about my well being.

Waited over 2 hours for results from a urine sample. And this is a urgent care facility? What a joke. Definitely was better when it was Emergent care. We will not be coming back here!
Update: Nurse and Doctor were very nice and apologetic for the wait.

I have only used this location once, but that being said I will come back anytime I am feeling under the weather. I came down with a cold/​bronchitis bout a few days ago and finally decided to get seen yesterday. I got online verified they were accepting retired military and then I went on their webiste to utilize the «Clockwise» option. I sent in my message and was sent a text within 20 minutes telling me my appointment was in a half hour. I checked in and sat down for a few minutes and then was seen by triage person, and then the doctor. They listened to my complaint and history of it being as the seasons change. They prescribed what a normally get besides an additional steroid shot to get the cure moving faster. All of this was done in under an hour. Have to say that is the epitome of PROFESSIONALISM. That may not be the case for everyone, but for me it sure was a GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!

I have used this location multiple times and have been very pleased with the professionalism displayed by all staff members. They have a beautiful waiting room and even provide coffee, water and soda for patients while they wait. I would definitely recommend this clinic to anyone looking for an urgent care with all of the comforts of home!

Do not take your child to this facility. According to their own chief medical officer, Dr Davis, this facility is unwilling to appropriately prescribe narcotic cough suppressants for non-​productive croup cough. Not only are they incompetent in examining the patient, they unwittingly recommend that the patient double dose on dextromethorphan, a common OTC cough suppressant, but at high doses a gateway drug among teenagers. It is also curiously noted that the corporate name of this «excuse for care» is changing names regularly. Spend the extra money and go to a legitimate doctor at a reputable hospital emergency room, your health and quite possibly your life depends upon it.

Not speedy that’s for sure. Been waiting 2 hours. One hour in a room. When we came back we were told they had 2 Drs working and three rooms were full. I promise the dr will not be spending 30 min with us when they finally get in here.

They should post that they don’t serve infants/​toddlers. We took our 18 month old there and received quite a shock when they said his «vitals don’t look strong» and that we should go to Children’s Mercy. $ 800 later ($ 650 for Childrens and $ 150 for Emerg.) we were told to up his dose of Advil — he had a cold. Disappointed we weren’t told this by the ECP staff… insult to injury was the bill we received.
Might be better for adults but save yourself $ 150 and head straight to Children’s Mercy if you have a sick kid.

We stood more than ten minutes before acknowledged at the desk when we cane, and there was no line. Perhaps the front woman is having a bad day but for the first time in more than ten times seeking treatment we were treated very rudely. She is quite stressed to be training someone while receiving patients– but doesn’t apologize for her rudeness or lack of attentiveness. We most likely will not return because there are plenty of other walk-​in clinics we can use instead. A pity though since it’s close.

My wife got sick on a weekend and there is no urgent care near where we live. So we googled and got this place. It was very clean. Receptionist was sympathetic to our needs. The doctor was kind and listened to us. He didn’t rush us out and answered all our questions. They offered free coffee but would have been nice to have some cold water.

My significant other woke up in excrutiating pain and could barely walk. Having been on antibiotics, we didn’t know if that was the cause or what. Knowing they may have to have several things done to figure out the problem, I suggested we try this place or otherwise it could be an all-​day process and they were out of their mind in pain. Didn’t know if x-​rays, bloodwork, urinalysis, or what would be needed…
The facility was clean and nice. We waited for a long time to be seen, despite the waiting room being empty. Don’t know why that was.
The treatment «rooms» were open, like you’d see in an emergency room, so everyone can hear what’s going on with you. Didn’t like that aspect.
When a doctor finally came, she was young. Must have been right out of college. We explained about the severe foot pain and asked about the possibility of gout, even though it was not very swollen at all. Nothing else made sense given the sudden onset. I asked for them to confirm it with either a urinalysis or blood work and she told me they «don’t have a lab». (NOTE: THEY DON’T HAVE A LAB – despite what the information online may say.) I said you’re kidding me! I thought that’s precisely the kind of service urgent care provides. No, she said we’d need to go to our physician. I asked about some other possible causes, given a recent tonsil infection and other medication they were on. The doctor acted very rushed and was not willing to discuss much else, again, saying we’d need to see our regular physician.
We left with a high strength prescription for pain, despite not knowing if gout is what we were dealing with or not. Wasn’t sure whether to get it filled, given how powerful it was. However, they were in so much pain we didn’t have a choice and so we took our chances. Seems like a poor way to treat something, but apparently that’s how it’s done.
Fast forward a month, I happen to see this info on Unilocal about them having a lab. I decided to call the office and ask if they do or they don’t. The gal tells me «yes, they have a lab». So do they or don’t they??? After further questioning, I find out they actually do have a lab and CAN do urinalysis, despite what the doctor said. She said, however, they don’t have a full-​blown lab, that they can only run a couple of tests. So why does their advertising say they do and the doctor telling us they don’t???
So be aware, if you think like I did that this facility would be able to do most testing if needed, they cannot. Also, if you have anything you suspect is an ILLNESS, don’t bother coming here. They appear to only be equipped to handle broken bones, cuts, sprains, cold, flu, etc. That’s it.

We visited in February. My son had a gash in his lip and needed stitches. Rather than head to ER, I called Emergent Care Plus. The nurse visited with me on the phone and told us they could handle it becaue it was not considered a major cut. The physician was friendly and pleasant. She fixed him right up! They even dispense medication if needed for their patients. Very convenient, and this certainly was a cost savings to my own pocket as well as my employer’s health plan!

If all Urgent Cares were like this one, I would make sure I got sick more often.
Who wants to go to an Urgent Care, especially a new one? After an earache I had wouldn’t go away, I went here on a random Saturday afternoon because it was the only one in town I had seen on a constant basis — right off of the 470 near the Strother Road exit. I wasn’t expecting much — just hoped to get in and out in a decent amount of time with an answer to my ailment.
As soon as I walked in I knew this place was unlike any other urgent care office I had ever seen. The interior is LIKE A SPA — really — tranquil fountains, a full coffee bar on the house, and lots of comfy seating. The staff were SUPER friendly and facilitating, especially in explaining the medicine vending machine that sparked my curiosity. Really — you can get your doctors visit AND your Rx AND your spa fix all in one spot!
The examination rooms were just as nice as the lobby, and the doctor who saw me was very patient and pleasant. I was in and out in less than 45-​minutes. I am pretty sure it is the cleanest facility I have ever seen — AND they have X-​Ray machines, lab, and offer vaccinations, so it’s kind of like a one-​stop shop! They are also opening a family practice in January, which is perfect because I have been avoiding having to find a doctors office but now will make my appointment joyfully!
I really can’t say enough amazing things about this place. Not that I hope I get sick anytime soon, but… ;)
