Uncle Doc’s Diner

Service was great, charming 50’s sale décor. I order the Dragon Fire burger and hubby Philly cheese steak burger n fries. Man o man they were aqesome! By far the best diner food I’ve ever had!

We made our first trip to Uncle Doc’s Diner. Formerly an ice cream parlor, the place retains a cute, old-​timey 50’s style theme. The space is nice and clean with a choice of booth, table or bar seating. We ordered a Portabella Mushroom Grinder (with cole slaw side) and a Philly cheese steak (with fries). We appreciated the good quality, fresh baked Telera roll buns. They do offer beer and wine, so I selected a (very) local microbrew «Santiamber» (from Albany-​based Calapooia Brewing). My wife and daughter each had an «M&M’s Mixed Up Shake» (soft serve vanilla with ground up M&M’s). Food quality was quite good: we really enjoyed the portabella sandwich. The Philly’s flavor was fine, but it needed more substance as the amount was overwhelmed a bit by the bun (they do have a «double the meat» at an additional charge, but for the price, it seemed the regular one should have had a bit more substance). The server and manager were both very helpful and friendly. We’ll return.

Great place for like lunch and dinner… However I don’t think they’re great for the breakfast aspect. The breakfast menu isn’t all that special; I got an egg scramble which wasn’t good and my hash browns were a joke while my spouse got a weird fried chicken an waffles and that was a way complete joke. But lunches their are great!

Burgers were juicy and flavorful, and the steak fries were great. Service was good as well, and the atmosphere is nice. We would go again if we are in the area.

The food was very good. Some of the best biscuits and gravy I have had. And the staff were very friendly and made you feel right at home. I recommend it.

We love Uncle Doc’s!!! Great ice cream and yummy fries are always a fun treat. My kids love the atmosphere, as do I!

We like unko docs. They are very friendly there An atmosphere my kids love it. There sandwiches are very good. There prices are decent and it’s very family oriented well worth it

Stopped in before seeing a movie on a weeknight. Really like the atmosphere and they played good classic rock. Wife got fish and chips and I got a dragon? burger. Both were great! We will definitely be back.

We have been visiting Lebanon for a few months to help take care of my mother and have gotten to sample a lot of the local restaurants. We are at Uncle Doc’s Diner 3 times.
The first visit was excellent. The owners were serving and cooking, the service was great and the food was very good diner food. We thanked the owners and decided to come back a day or so later as we had such a good experience.
The second visit was decidedly less good. While the food was still good, the service was abysmal. It wasn’t very busy, but tables weren’t getting bussed, food was taking a long time, and the waitress was slow in taking orders and filling drinks. A Facebook post from the owner later apologized and said they were short staffed due to some family sickness. That’s understandable, but the waitress was pretty actively awful even when it wasn’t busy.
As for the third visit, not only was the service even worse (the waitress didn’t know the menu and we kept having to correct her on our order), but the food took over an hour (again, not very busy at all) and 45 minutes after we gave our order the cook came over to verify items on the ticket as she was just starting our order.
When we got the food (we were trying the breakfast menu), everything was burned. The eggs were burnt, the toast was black, the waffles looked fried and we’re also burnt and heavy. My wife ended up getting sick and leaving 70% of her meal.
Unfortunately, I think we’re done trying this place. Hopefully others have a better experience.

Very nice off the beaten path diner. The waitress and the cook today were so kind and welcoming. The food was excellent and the coffee was great.

My husband had pancakes and eggs. They looked great, and he said they tasted great, too. I had the fry basket. They have steak fries which were cooked perfectly for me. We’ve had their ice cream sundaes before… nothing like an old fashioned sundae in real glass dishes. One if the few mom and pop places left around here!

Considering the lack of happening places in Lebanon it’s wise to keep your expectations low. In short it is a throwback 1950s style diner with the typical fried fare. Still it is clean and breakfast is served all day. I noticed my chicken fried steak came from the freezer and went into a deep fryer, which I thought was weird and took the experience down several pegs. They should invest in a better vent system as everything I was wearing smelled like it had been in a fryer after and needed to be washed. However the gravy was tasty and had bits of bacon in it. Friendly staff who sit down in the booth to tell you about the menu and answer your questions. A decent greasy spoon but for me just okay.

4.99 hot dog meal is a great lunch! Not your .99 ball park frank but a real hot dog with fries and a drink. Clean, fun, family friendly!

Wow I LOVE «Uncle Docs»… My fav is the pastrami san … Lots of meat on «marbled bread» … yummy & the burgers are AWESOME too, wowswer… Better check it out & delight your taste buds, & while I’ve been there obviously several times, the service has been outstanding … Every time!!! Kudos to the owners & team @ «Uncle Docs» … A welcome addition to our community…

PS the «retro» atmosphere is so so cute & don’t forget the «hand dipped» Ice cream & the awesome «real» thick shakes they make from the ice cream as well… Totally «over the top»… Check it out ASAP… You’ll be happy you did !!!

Love this place. Have been in a few times and had a variety of things. All good.
Fast, friendly service and an extensive menu of good food.

Had a hotdog and fries. Loved the fries and fry sauce and hotdog was great too. Would come back!
