Love, love, love. Z Gallerie is all that is right in the world. Everything is modern and upscale looking but the prices won’t break the bank. When I stopped in the other day they had a huge chunk of the store dedicated to goods in the aquamarine color scope, so I imagine that is their spring trend. The wall art section is quite large, and includes spectacular three-dimensional pieces in shadow boxes. If you are into modern décor that is not the same old chrome and glass, you will find this store refreshing. I would go as far as to say that most of the store has a feminine bent without being overtly girly. I don’t want to scare off any guys, but there is some serious bling happening in there.

I had not been to Z Gallerie since they were doing an all out feather, sparkle, glam explosion all over the Plaza. I went to the new location to purchase a requested Christmas gift and quite frankly, I was surprised to learn they were still open. While the clerk was ringing up the gift, I took a look around and was pleasantly surprised. They seemed to have tamed their previous Liberace glam and were offering some sleek and thoughtful items. They had a really cool rectangle beverage dispenser and some sexy ceramic and metal vases. There were also a couple of over sized mirrors that really caught my eye. I think I might be inclined to stop in again when I am in this part of town.

I was disappointed when they moved from The Plaza out to 119th St. Seemed like an odd move considering they’re in a strip mall with Crate & Barrel and West Elm. Regardless of their seemingly strange business decision, it makes it easier for me when I want to go out shopping for furniture now. Anyhoodle! I love this place! I call it Potter Barn on crack. They have the latest trends in furniture and home furnishings and the prices aren’t entirely ridiculous. There is a dining table there that’s next on my wish list that’s less than $ 500. Not bad! If a distant, rich relative died and left me all their money, I would totally go here and furnish my entire condo. It’s also a great place to shop for gifts. You can find pretty much anything for anyone here and you can easily spend more time than necessary browsing their gift book table. They also have a decent selection of art and mirrors. I’ve never purchased any, but a friend of mine bought a piece and had it shipped to Boston with no problem. I like to go here and just browse around… you never know what you’ll find.

My boyfriend and I were really excited to pick out furniture from this store for his home. We were really disappointed that the Z Gallerie on the Plaza closed, but we were happy to learn there was a new one in Leawood. We love the style of Z Gallerie and the furniture there, the store itself is smaller than the Plaza location but it had quite a few items that we had our eye on so we decided to purchase a few pieces. Enter Thomas, the most unhelpful sales clerk I’ve ever meant. Not only was he not friendly towards me or my boyfriend, he messed up our final bill and when we asked him to put a rush on the order he promised us he did. He said the furniture would arrive in 2 weeks. Its been two months and the furniture is sitting on a truck in California as of today. After calling Thomas to ask what had happened we got no apology no nothing. Just a snotty attitude. Z Gallerie told us that he had never put a rush on the order. We have to call every week to check on the order, and every week it is STILL sitting on a truck in California. After our experience with Thomas we will not be using Z Gallerie to purchase furniture again. Not only did he over charge us and tell us he had rushed it(which he had not) there was no apology or anything. And that’s the most frustrating part of the whole experience. I would recommend Crate and Barrel across the street, they were very friendly and had much better customer service.
