I have used Bruce 3 times to clean our home, in Parkville. All 3 times I’ve had good experiences and good prices. He is occassionally hard to contact or is late. But, I know he uses the best chemicals on the market, as we replaced some carpet under warranty that was permanently stained by ½lb of chocolate dog vomit. But we had to clean the carpet to prove it was permanent. Bruce did the clean, and stated ahead of time he felt the stain wouldn’t come out. When the carpet company adjustor reviewed the chemicals Bruce used, he commented they are the best. He has always done a nice job for me, removing all stains but the chocolate. I will continue to use him for our carpet cleaning needs, every 6 to 12 months.
I will comment on another post, complaining about the solid animal waste left behind. Its a carpet cleaners job to wash your carpets, not to pick up any solids or toys or anything else you should have removed. I cleaned carpets part-​time while in college; the machines can’t pick up solids. It is a customer’s responsibility to remove solids (toys, food, feeces, whatever) from the carpet prior to carpet washing. The carpet cleaner isn’t your maid. Don’t complain your carept wasn’t washed properly, if you didn’t prep it properly to be washed.

Wow! I was pretty surprised to see the negative reviews here on Unilocal,regarding Bruce at Pro Clean KC. My experience was the exact opposite of the negative reviews I see see here. I purchased a Living Social deal to have the entire house cleaned. I had no difficulty getting a hold of him. The appointment was set within a weeks time. He arrived on time. He was friendly and well educated about his product and his process. He was also realistic in what he said he could do. He didn’t make empty promises and he did point out that there were some areas that would be a challenge.
I did have to pay extra for the stairs which was not indicated on the website or the Living Social deal but he did tell me upfront upon our appointment scheduling that was the case and the the price was reasonable so I agreed.
We have pretty bad pet stains from a former room mate’s dog and a new puppy. All though most companies claim to have a miracle solution that will eliminate all evidence of pet stains and odor, I keep my expectations pretty low. I have also experienced the stains coming back after a certain amount of time has passed (This has been true for every carpet cleaning service I have EVER used) so I am prepared for that as well. Bruce not only assured me that if that does happen, he would be back with no issues he explained WHY that happens. The pet stains are gone, the carpet is damp but by no means wet. The odors are gone. I was happy with the service I was provided. I had to do a little minor clean up afterwards because of water and a little over spray on the hard surfaces, but again this is true for every service provider I have ever used.
I think it is important as a home owner, especially if you have carpet that may be beyond it’s life span, or severely damaged due to pet stains and wear, to keep your expectations reasonable. At some point, carpet does need to be replaced and I don’t think it is fair to blame the person trying to improve the situation for not being able to restore your ancient or horribly stained carpet back to like new condition. They are professional carpet cleaners, not miracle workers. You should expect to get what you pay for from a professional and friendly service provider. That is what I got with this service. I will be calling Bruce again for my future carpet cleaning needs. He seemed focused on problem solving and he was proud of his work when he left. He even helped me with a stain in my car!

Bruce’s business card states «Water Damage and Restoration» I don’t know about the restorations, but I can assure you that he does CAUSE water damage. Hire him to clean two rooms, the stairs, and a hallway. He spent less than an hour applying water to the floors and left. My wife works from home and wasn’t able to inspect his work before he ran off with the check. He removed NO stains and left the floors soaked. When she called him, he stated this was normal and we don’t know anything about getting carpets cleaned. When I got home from work, I sprayed the spots with a generic carpet cleaner from Target, scrubbed them with a brush for a few minutes and sucked up the mess he made with a Rug Doctor I had rented on the way home. Perfectly clean. Bruce had stated that there was no way to get the stains up that his «professional» process had left behind. HA! Seriously, look elsewhere. I wish I’d have Unilocaled before I hire this loser.

Last September, I was moving out of my apartment and my landlord insisted that I have the carpet shampooed (not because I am a dirty person but because I had a cat). I bought a Groupon or LivingSocial (can’t remember which) and made an appointment for Bruce to come clean the carpet on a Sunday, the day before my lease ended. At the last minute, the apartment management informed me that I couldn’t have contractors over on Sundays. I called Bruce in a panic. He was very accommodating and agreed to come at the crack of dawn the next day, Monday, even though he had many other appointments that day. I never saw the apartment after the cleaning, but I got my full deposit back from my landlord, so I assume Bruce did a good job.

Was not impressed at all. Still have stains & worker left my kitchen sink dirty. Took off my faucet piece for some reason & now it leaks. Go elsewhere for your service, don’t waste your money

Absolutely the most horrible cleaning job ever… even had to pick up dog shit left stuck to my carpet in the closet! Immediately noticed that the carpet wasn’t even damp to the touch. Tried to leave messages but mailbox was full… hmmm. When I did talk to him personally, he argued about it and insisted he did a good job. Had to hang up as clearly he didn’t care what I thought. Will also report him to the BBB. Any positive reviews previously left are clearly bogus… what a joke!

We too were looking forward to using a purchased LivingSocial voucher for the service. After many voicemails left and many unreturned calls Bruce from pro-​clean did not show twice for scheduled appointments. We called and canceled our voucher got a full refund from LivingSocial. I cannot speak for the actual service as we never received the treatment. However I can state that I cannot get back the time taken off from my job to wait for someone that didn’t even have the courtesy to call to say he was not going to show up for an agreed upon time not once but twice!

Bought a Groupon from Bruce for Carpet Cleaning last summer — did a great job! Even came back for FREE for a quick spot cleaning on an area that was missed.
Then we had him come back 3 months later to clean the tile & grout in the kitchen — did a WONDERFUL job — it looked just like the day the installation was completed. PLUS — the tile cleaning and sealing included a FREE return trip (within 6 months) for touch-​up and a refresh on the cleaning — FREE!!!
I can’t recommend Pro Clean more — Bruce is great.

We submitted a complaint to the BBB for this business hoping to resolve our issues without having to go to court. Fat chance… this business opted not to respond to the complaint resulting in an F rating with the BBB. We will be following up with a small claims law suit in Johnson County, KS.
Do yourself a favor and take your business somewhere else. This is the first time I have ever gotten burned when buying a Groupon. Not a good feeling.

Bruce from Proclean did a great job with the carpet cleaning and was honest. No hidden charges.
