At Hackworth Family Eye Care, we provide quality eye care for the local community and surrounding regions. Our services include comprehensive eye exams, contact lenses, disease diagnoses and referrals, LASIK and Cataract Surgical consultations, emergency care, and digital retinal photography.

Established in 2009.

Dr. Kim Hackworth opened the doors to Hackworth Family Eye Care in 2009 to provide quality eye care to the local community and surrounding regions.

Business Owner

Dr. Hackworth graduated from High School in Lansing, Kansas and went on to major in Cell Biology at the University of Kansas. She then received her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Missouri, St Louis School of Optometry. She is also an active member of the American Optometric Association, Kansas Optometric Association, and the Optometric Society of Greater Kansas City.

In a nutshell– excellent, thorough, caring service. Dr. Kim is an outstanding practitioner.
The full story:
I used to wear contacts with no problems. Then, about 6 years ago, they became intolerable– always dry, foggy, sticky. I’ve been trying out contacts at every eye exam since, hoping technology will have changed and they will miraculously work for me again. Every time I’ve been to another optometrist, when I report the same problems, they tell me I had better just stick with glasses.
Not Dr. Kim. After a very thorough exam, she actually listened to my problems, gave me a trial pair, did a really thorough job of checking fit/​comfort, and sent me on my way to see how I did. And had me schedule a follow-​up appointment to debrief! I have never had an optometrist do this. When those contacts had the same problems I always seem to have, she gave me another kind to try, and had me schedule another follow-​up to see how they work! And these are working really well.
Kudos to Dr. Kim and her staff. I’ll be recommending you to all of Leavenworth!
