Day Walks, With/​Without Leashes, Personal Attention!

Nature Walks! We believe that a happy puppy is a tired puppy so we make sure your pup gets all the exercise he needs — We take the pack to one of the forest trails and lakes, or even to your dog’s favorite spot — enjoying all that Leadville’s surrounding nature has to offer, and for at least an hour walk.

Small Pack! Our 5-​Dog-​Maximum allows personal attention and reduces doggy-​stress. We keep our pack small to provide the best care possible!

Constant supervision! We are always here for your pup — while in our care, he will never be left alone.

Updates! While you are away, you will receive photo and video messages to your cellphone, so you can see what your pup is up to.

We accept all breeds and sizes, but please, no aggressive dogs.

History

Established in 2012.

Our Happy-​Doggy-​Business started in 2009, while we were university students, in Israel. After moving to South Lake Tahoe, CA in late 2012, we decided to continue spreading our love for dogs to everyone :)

We recently moved to Leadville, and just LOVE the snowy walks in the high country!

We found Amit on
. Amit, Lewie and Yeshi (Amit’s personal dogs which were wonderful hosts), wore our two cattle dogs out, along with other visiting dogs, during our five days of needing a pet-​sitter. He kept us updated on their activities with texts and photos. They got so tired out that we could finally leave them in our pet friendly hotel (The Avalon) late at night without worrying that they would be anxious and bark. Instead, they slept. They played in his yard, they went to the beach, or a hike in the forest, or a hike to some waterfalls.
We tipped Amit generously every day because he deserved it. Please don’t forget to do the same. He was so loving and caring of our dogs that we started calling him their Uncle Amit. We would HIGHLY recommend his services. Give him as much advance notice as possible, because he limits the number of dogs he will take per day so they play nicely together.

Amit is one groovy guy. He looked after our two cocker spaniels for a couple of days and sent video updates of their activities every few hours. It made my wife and I feel secure as we were out having fun. He was extremely flexible with his schedule. It was as good if not better than leaving them with a close friend or relative. Recommend 100%

As everyone else has said, these guys are excellent. If you want flexible people who will provide loving care for your doggie look no further.
These guys know what dogs want to do with their day. They took our French Bulldog puppy out after we had a short briefing for their dogs to meet him on neutral ground. We let them know what to expect for him: he gets hot so dunking him in water is good, he loves to play with other doggies, he loves sticks and fetch, off leash is ok, he pukes sometimes, etc.
They took him back to play in a big yard then to the beach where they took tons of pictures and videos of him having a blast which they also emailed to me. He came back to us tired and happy.
Dropping him off and picking him up was easy and they are reasonably priced. I will definitely leave my doggie with them if I come back up to South Lake.

What a cool thing DD and Amit have going here, I feel much better about leaving my Pup in the care of people instead of a business or vet… Especially after having worked with these guys: pics, videos, updates, walks, swims, hikes, great/​friendly service, etc… I even wanted my friends to pick Congo up early to save myself a little cash, they were totally cool with it and even went as far as to drop Congo off to him. I will being using DD and Amit again and I suggest you do to…

This is a long overdue review of a great dog sitting business.
My wife and I came to Tahoe for a weekend of skiing this January. We brought our 2 dogs, who refuse to ski, so they had to be boarded. FHAFH picked our dogs up from our hotel in the morning and dropped them off back at our hotel apres ski. Our dogs were competely, totally, and fantastically exhausted after a day of walks and playing. It was great, we even left them back at the hotel to sleep while we got dinner — they’re yappy, needy, seperation-​anxiety terriers so we’ve litterally never do that, but they were so pooped from running and pooping that we did, without any complaints from hotel management.
2nd day was even better. The pups happily walked off in the AM without any wimpering terrier drama, apparently happier to be with FHAFH than us, their loving kibble providers. When we met them at the end of the day in the Heavenly parking lot (yup, FHAFH was happy to accomidate, as we had checked out of our hotel that morning), the dogs were super sad to leave them, until they promptly passed out in their carriers for the entire 3hr drive home.
If you have dogs and are coming for a weekend ski getaway, don’t overnight board them, don’t leave them with some haplesss friend, go with Friendly Home, you will not regret it.

Amit and DD are so wonderful. Right away their warm, kind, and gentle nature reassures you that your dog is in good hands. They were very flexible and make sure your dog is out walking and playing while you’re away. I loved them so much I called them every time I went to Tahoe to ski/​board last winter. They even go out of their way to text and email you photos of your dog! Thank you Amit and DD!

Amit and DD were fantastic, taking our Blue Heeler puppy at a day’s notice and giving him a great day. They sent us video updates of his playtime throughout the day, were really accommodating on drop-​off and pickup, and sent us an album of photos at the end of the day that were higher quality than anything we’ve taken of Pretzel so far :)
Highly recommended next time you’re in the South Lake Tahoe area.

First off, I’ve got a highly energetic black Lab. Think Energizer Bunny on crack and that’s my dog in a nut shell. That said, I’ve had Amit and DD watch my dog, Dakota, twice already and each time they’ve manage to tire her out… so much so that she was completely wiped… even to the next day. Amit and DD were extremely accommodating in terms of pickup and drop off locations and times. I was really impressed with the periodic text messages and videos of my girl having a great time. This helped put my mind at east. You really can’t go wrong with this awesome couple. I will definitely call Amit and DD again the next time I’m in Tahoe and so should you.

I wanted to find a sitter that will hang out with my spoiled Doberman and hike most of the day while I ski. She is on vacation also and that’s what she loves to do. I found it with Amit and DD. They are great and had no problem taking on a Doberman when most shy away.
CoCo had a great time and took to them right away. They are very communicative, I received video of what she did all day.
I am very glad I gave them a try. Will use their service again in the future for sure!

Don’t be selfish on those slopes, give your dog an amazing experience that Amit and DD provide. Our dog wanted to stay there forever. It took some time to convince her to come home. She was as happy as a dog can be after whole day of running, playing and socializing with other dogs. Amit and DD are extremely friendly and accommodating; having photo and video updates throughout the day adds to the great experience and peace of mind.

I found Amit and DD on Unilocal and I am glad I did. My husband and I planned a weekend snowboarding trip and brought our dog Muffin along. Muff is more timid in nature so I felt uncomfortable leaving her in the rented cabin by herself during the day since she often gets spook by foreign sounds she hears when she’s by herself in a new environment. Before I found Amit and DD, I used to bring her to a local doggie daycare in Tahoe, but because of her timid nature, she always came back drained but nervous.
Amit and DD came to pick her up and they seem very friendly and patient. Even though they said it did took Muff a while before she kind of warmed up to them, but I knew Muff was in good hand, since she came back very happy and relaxed. And the best thing is, after we came back to the cabin all drenched from the rain and snow, Amit and DD were nice enough to drop Muff off at our cabin so we don’t have to go out again. I highly recommend them, especially if your dog dislikes traditional daycare like mine.

Overall, Amit and DD are genuine dog lovers and make great sitters; they were gentle, responsive and amazingly communicative — all at a very reasonable price.
Amit and DD puppy-​sat our dog, Rocket, for one full day. It was my first time letting someone outside of our immediate family watch her, so I was pretty nervous and worried. Plus, she tends to be a little apprehensive of other dogs off bat.
The second I met them, however, they immediately put me and Rocket at ease. They showed up with three other dogs in tow. Not only did they offer to meet in the dogs’ neutral territory in front of the Heavenly gondola, which was so convenient, they immediately wanted to walk all of them together to ensure that the dogs felt comfortable with each other. And it worked!
Throughout Rocket’s stay, Amit and DD were open and communicative — sending us pictures of Rocket playing in the snow and walking along the beach. Definitely got me to set my worries aside. Plus, it ensured that she was getting a good work out.
When we were done snowboarding, they came to meet us in front of the gondola, with a happy Rocket leading the leash. On the way home, Rocket immediately napped, which meant she got some good exercise.
Afterward, there were even a couple of unexpected perks, including some still shots that they took of Rocket, which were all emailed and posted on their FB page.
Definitely will be recommending them to my friends and family, and will be happy to call them again next time Rocket is in Tahoe!

So I will be the first to tell you that I am a crazy dog mom. Darwin gets nothing but the best, I make his food, he has more than a few coats, fancy collar, goes to the park everyday, the whole deal.
Needless to say, I was paranoid about leaving him with anyone when we were in Tahoe to go skiing. I found Amit and DD on Unilocal and saw their reviews, and more than anything the pictures, and decided to meet them. I have to say, they are some of the nicest people I have ever met. Darwin loved them from the start and had no problem going with them when I drove away (which I was definitely worried about).
The best part about the whole thing? I got pictures, every couple of hours I would check my phone and there would be a picture or a video of him having the time of his life. I thought that was as good as it gets, but I was wrong, turns out these guys must have some pretty good camera experience because now two days later, I get 77 professional looking pictures of my handsome boy.
Darwin came home exhausted and happy, slept by the fire for the night and I could not be happier. They have great prices, and they will pick up and drop off your pooch pretty much anytime you want them to. We did a full day from 9am-​8pm, I even extended at the last minute, with no complaints or extra fees. I love these guys and will be using them every time we come up for the snow.

Amazing, wonderful, and truly adore the pets they care for. Amit & DD, cared for our puppy, Buddha, for 4 days. Our hotel recommended Amit & DD as a place to board our puppy since the hotel wasn’t pet friendly. We dropped off our puppy with Amit& DD and within a few hours we received picture text message of our puppy, and then we received a video. We continued to receive texts and videos each day our puppy was with Amit &dd. There were several dogs being cared for by Amit & DD, and I always felt confident they took exceptional care for all the pets, including our puppy!
Their prices as more than reasonable! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Amit & DD! They are amazing people, who truly show a love for animals! We will bring our pup to Amit & dd next time we are in tahoe. Thank you so much! We are truly grateful!

DD and Amit are wonderful. They took such good care of our Cocker Spaniel. Rusty had such a good time as the photos show.
It was comforting to be able to leave Rusty in their care knowing that they would care for him in the same loving way that we would at home.
We loved the atmosphere that they provide by allowing Rusty into their home, free to roam both indoors and out back. OMG, the trip to the beach was such a treat for Rusty. You can tell from the photos provided that Rusty had such a great time at t he beach.

I’ve been visiting South Lake Tahoe for the last couple of weeks and was taking my jeep out to the Rubicon Trail for the weekend. Needed to find a place last minute that would take my dog Loki. Its not always easy to find a place that will not only accept him, but also show him a good time and work him out. He’s a big rottweiler and that tends to throw off most boarding places, despite the fact that he loves to run around and play all day if people are willing.
Amit and DD were able to take him on last minute, and he was wiped out by the time I picked him up yesterday (he’s still sleeping now). They sent videos and pictures all weekend, and even e-​mailed me last night with a bunch more. I don’t think he wanted to leave. I would definitely recommend them, and will be using them again the next time that we’re here!

These guys truly love dogs… Very friendly folks who have a passion for taking care of and boarding dogs. Our puppy shady had a great time, as we could tell from the frequent updates from Amit and DD through text message, and we even got to enjoy action shots of our little girl enjoying herself on a 6 mile run to the beach!
If you have the chance to leave your dog with these two, you will not regret it and the pup will be in the most caring of hands. Inquire here first, or get stuck with the worst…

I wish i could give them more than a five star rating… because they were truly exceptional! Not only are they super sweet and kind people… but they looked after my pup SO well. They were available last minute when Pauline bailed out on me despite me making an appointment with her a week before hand. Thank God for Amit and DD… their boarding rates and daycare rates are unbeatable. They sent me so many amazing pics of my dog… and super cute videos… they didn’t have to– but they did! I can’t recommend this duo enough…
