Love the food here. Always had friendly service. Plus, they serve breakfast all day — always a win in my book.

Enjoy a visit to Cracker Barrel, like to walk around and shop all of the cool and crazy items they have. Good is great, service is usually good. We will always look forward for dinner at a Cracker Barrel.

I don’t know if it’s this location in particular, but I have been so many times for occasions and I am always disappointed. The service is always lackluster and the food NEVER tastes fresh. I always feel like they microwave leftover food, leave it in the microwave to cool off, then serve it. When I think of homestyle comfort food, this is anything but. Please save your money and venture elsewhere.

I brought my mother-in-law here for dinner for Mother’s Day. The service was terrible! After waiting for 10 minutes for someone to come take our order I went to find the Hostess to see if she could have someone come help us. It took another 10 minutes for a server to come to our table. And this was not a busy time at the restaurant. After placing our order it seemed like an eternity before our meals were brought out. Our server never checked back to see if our drinks could be refilled or if we needed anything. I brought my concerns to the attention of the cashier when I paid for the meals. She said it be would be addressed but didn’t seemed to be concerned. When I got home I called to talk to the manger and she didn’t want to listen to what I had to say. I will not be going back to this restaurant!!!

I have family from out of town and my mom wanted Cracker Barrel. We were a party of 14(big party) I knew that it would be a longer than normal wait. They told us it would be a 45 to 60 minute wait, we were ok with that. Customers were coming in, names were being called. One hour passed and we checked on progress of our name being called. They told us we were next in line. We waited about 20 minutes longer and I was called to the front so they can explain how our table was going to be set up. Being a big group, we were fine. 10 – 15 minutes later, employees were talking amongst themselves regarding the tables we were going to use. Apparently, some group sat down or changed seats to the tables we were going to use. One of the employees tried to move them with no luck. They come to us to ask that we wait longer, they apologized for the wait time. 20 – 25 minutes later and nothing. We decided to leave, I talked to one of the employees and she told me it wasn’t her fault that this happened. We left, I don’t like making scenes, but as an employee, it was their responsibilities to make sure that they clear some tables and coordinate with other servers to insure that this doesn’t happen. Cracker Barrel should be capable of handling big groups like ours on a daily basis. They do it all the time. We drove to Marie Calendars where they sat us down within less than 5 minutes. Cracker Barrel may not care but they missed out on $ 150 + tip. I will not visit Cracker Barrel anymore.

Told there would be a 15 minute wait for a table when we arrived, after waiting approximately 90 minutes we left. During the wait we checked with the hostess several times to check on a table and each time we were told they were preparing a table for us. When we told them we were upset about not being told the correct wait time, the hostess became rude and condescending. We finally left.

I love Cracker Barrel. It reminds me of the comfort of the south at times. The food is usually consistently good at each location. It’s comfort food at it’s best. I love when their fireplace is on, on a cold day. I love playing their table games while waiting for my food to arrive. Both times we have dined here we have had good service and food. It’s very crowded on Sunday mornings so be prepared. Their gift shop is also packed full of fun finds.

Don’t order to go! I ordered the chicken fried chicken. I specifically asked if there were any pork in the Sawmill gravy because I don’t eat pork. The person told me it does have pork bits. I asked for brown gravy instead. I ordered my food around 5:15. The person told me it would be ready in 15 mins. I arrived at 5:40 and paid at 5:42. Stood around for another 15 mins before me good came out. I open my food in the car so that i can eat it. I’m not sure if they gave me the correct gravy or not, but it has bits of something that looks like pork. If I had said I don’t eat pork, wouldn’t it be clear that I don’t want pork in my brown gravy either? My hash brown casserole was cold. My fried okra were room temp. My chicken was a little warm, but dry. The only good part of my meal was my cheesy grits. I only got a knife for my silverware. I had to eat with my hands. This was a very disappointing visit. One mistake after another. My first and last.

Second time eating at this particular location. Second time food came out horrible. The dumplings were cold, dry, and had an «odd» flavor. The gravy had a crust on top from sitting under heat lamps for an extended period. Five people ordered, three of us left without eating. Did not ask for the cost to be refunded(rumor is the waitress would have to pay the cost). Won’t go again. I’m being forced to give this place at least one star even though it deserves considerably less.

The catfish wasn’t too bad — it was edible. I got a side of dumplins and don’t understand what the big deal is about a glob of dough cooked in some broth. Will definitely NOT eat here again nor ever order dumplins. 2 stars for the edible catfish since I didn’t think I would find anything to eat here.

I have been here a few times… Last few times I almost wanted to walk out… Service was AWFUL! Tonight our waitress never came to refill our coffee, we had to ask for stuff and ended asking someone else for coffee. We sat near the kitchen and alls I could hear was employee talking, screaming, singing… Seriously not worth my money. Cold food, bad service, rude employs,

What’s good here? Chicken Fried Chicken, Hash brown Casserole, smoked sausage, bacon, and the coffee. I would come back for any of these options because they do it right! My coffee was always full and hot. I drank sooo much of it because it was so dang good. Also, service was pretty great. We came with a party of 12 and they did an excellent job taking care of us. Not all of the food came out at the same time, but they worked quickly to get us as much as they could as fast as they could. However, I absolutely hated the gravy they used for the Biscuits and gravy. It was so bland and disappointing especially since I ordered this as my main breakfast option. Also, ordering biscuits and gravy is kind of stupid considering almost all of their breakfast meals already come with biscuits and gravy! I wish I would’ve realized that. Prices are pretty good here, but I’m sad that such an easy breakfast dish would be made so poorly. Also, the biscuits were okay, but they weren’t great. This restaurant also has a «country store». They carry all kinds of specialty gifts, candies, candles, novelty items, etc. It’s fun to walk around and see it all. You could easily pick up some really neat(maybe a little overpriced) gifts. Yeah, they had baconnaise. Do you know anyone who loves Bacon and Mayo? If so, you should probably grab them some. Although personally the thought of it makes me gag.

This place was not good at all. The food took forever to come out, and when it did finally come out, it was cold, and my glass was almost always empty. The worst part is, the floor was a mess, and there were tables that needed to be cleared literally the whole time I was there. Some of the food was really good but most of it was underpar. Oh yeah! And my dad’s steak looked like a freaking hockey puck, and he said it tasted like one too.

I always tip 25% but I didn’t tip at all this time. It was the worst service I have had in a long time. My wife specifically came for the biscuits and gravy and she had to ask if she would would ever get them when our waitress came with the check. Our drinks were not once refilled and I also never got part of my meal. The waitress also never came back for our check so we had to go and pay at the gift shop register. I will not be returning to this restaurant.

Dirty dirty dirty! Food on the floor and dirty tables everywhere! They were not even very busy either. Was going to get lunch but between the over priced items, smaller portions and super, super dirty restaurant I couldn’t stand to stay longer than just getting dessert. The peach in the cobbler was decent but the crust was burnt and not a real cobbler crust. Very disappointed

Just like your grandma use to make! Craving some good ol’ home grown cooking? This is your place :) Need some mashed taters with gravy, corn bread and honey? Ok… let’s get Crackin’!! This restaurant is located right off the freeway in Layton, UT. Easy to find and plenty of parking. We love to shop in the little country store for quaint items, while we wait for our food to arrive. Tonight we shared a few different meals since our girls were with us from a college break. We enjoyed the chicken fried steak, complete with 3 sides(corn, baked sweet tater and coleslaw). We also had a loaded vegetable chicken salad with delicious dressing. We topped it off with the yummiest dessert… apple dumpling cobbler, topped with 2 scoops of icecream and drizzled in caramel! If you’re not sure about dinner… get the dessert! You won’t be disappointed!

Not my all time favorite place, but honestly not too shabby either. The atmosphere was awesome, lots of upbeat employees working hard and costumers playing the games around the restaurant at tables. There was definitely a rousing game of checkers happening between a loving father and a competitive daughter in the corner by me – I didn’t know I was going to receive dinner and a show! I went with my family; we tried the Garden Salad, the Chicken Fried Steak, delightful biscuits with honey and jam, and Apple Dumpling dessert to help wash everything down. The price was perfect, we spent $ 30 on 7 of us, so winner-winner chicken dinner!(literally). The restrooms were well maintained, again the service was awesome, and the store attached to the side was neat and fun to look around as well. TIPS&TRICKS: * Check out the store AFTER you eat, it’s a great way to get some walking in and help your food settle and digest before you call it a night. * Wear a jacket, dang it. I swear all restaurants have an arctic wind blowing through the kitchen, pressuring the people into finishing their meals in record time and get out of there faster than a hen in a room full of foxes. Take a jacket and enjoy your meal!

The Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is old tyme hospitality with home cooking. I visited for breakfast with two co-workers on one of my Salt Lake City trips. Hillbilly breakfast. I saw my co-worker eat grits, biscuits and gravy, cream of what plus eggs, bacon and sausage. Not me, I would have been in a total food coma. I had the poached eggs with fruit and english muffin. Large variety on the menu, but wait I did not see the California special… linguisa and eggs or huervos rancheros. Really good food but not the fastest service. Probably good for the Sunday breakfast after church with two cups of coffee.
