We are a state licensed full service childcare center for children ages 1 – 12. We offer full day care for toddlers and twos and both full and part time preschool. We also have after-​school programs including transport from many north Lawrence schools.

We focus on learning in a fun environment. We are geared to preparing children for grade school in the Lawrence area by using many of the same curriculums. We introduce Spanish and sign language, and practice multiculturalism, through observations of holidays, language, and inviting families to share their cultural traditions with us. We love science and introduce it in an age-​appropriate way. We use the Positive Behavioral Support model to help children learn to make good choices, be responsible for their actions, be empathetic to others, and to build their self-​esteem. We offer a lot at Googols of Learning and your child will get the best we have to offer.

History

Established in 2005.

Googols of Learning Child Development Center was originally opened within Googols of Fun, a walk-​in edutainment center in Lawrence. In 2008 we said goodbye to Googols of Fun and moved Googols of Learning to a new building in Lawrence, near Iowa & 6^th St. With our new focus of providing exclusively licensed childcare, we opened with 14 eager children and have grown to nearly 100 in the first 3 years! We’ve brought in an exceptional staff who do an outstanding job of helping our children develop physically, cognitively, socially, and emotionally and who create daily learning opportunities with a whole child approach and developmentally appropriate practices. We strive to provide a fun and nurturing environment for children 1 year and up and to prepare them for entrance into kindergarten in the Lawrence Public School district. We’ll carry on providing high quality care and education to the children of Lawrence and hope to continue being regarded as one of the best preschools in Lawrence!

I always believed that children learned more if it was presented in a fun and interactive way. Googols of Fun was born under this premise. Googols of Learning was the culmination of all the fun hands-​on activities, such as the Children’s Science Museum, the arts area, the indoor climbing structure, computers and dramatic play area available at Googols of Fun but offered on a daily basis. Now, with regular classrooms full of toys, games and manipulatives, qualified teachers, schedules, lesson plans, and a new outdoor playground, Googols of Learning became the new place where fun and learning meet! With an eye to preparing young children for grade school in the Lawrence Public Schools, we created a new concept in a child development center.
