Connection at Lawrence

There are so many things wrong with the management of this place, but sums up what others have said that I won’t go into details. BUT,
I will say that their last effort of having a rewards program was nice until you find out, is all lies, I’ve been waiting for my gift card to come in the «email» as they said it was «immediate after completing the task» However, I haven’t received anything! It’s been almost a month! And, I could care less about some stupid gift card, what makes me mad, is the fact that they yet, have not done anything to address the problem. How do you want loyalty from your tenants if you can’t even hold yourself accountable for what you say you’ll do. Seriously, don’t even get started here!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. This place is all hype and no substance. I subleased for less than 2 months and only received $ 36 from a $ 450 deposit. NO EXPLANATION WHAT SO EVER. We did everything and more that was required to get our money back. My room mates and I took good care of the place. I did no damage to the room in any way at all and now they are trying to say that somehow I’ve created $ 400 in damages in less than 2 months when somehow the girl I leased from got a full refund. So basically, go ANYWHERE else. The crap you have to deal with from poor management to frequent loss of wifi (good luck doing that online homework) is beyond not worth it. Please don’t make the same mistake I did!

My sister moved into her apartment today and was absolutely disgusted by what she saw. The apartment was not cleaned at all and had moldy dishes in the sink, dirt on the walls, food in the cabinets, and stains on the carpet. After discussing this with the office, they claimed they could do nothing for her since one of her roommates was continuing their lease. However, her roommate was not even present on the day the others moved out so she was unaware the apartment was left in this shape. It took approximately eight hours to clean up and the former tenants will still get their deposit back. Absolutely disgusted that they would treat her like this. I understand a little filth, but mold and other unknown stains is ridiculous. Definitely wouldn’t recommend to anyone!

I love this place! Moving in wit my best friend next fall with 2 other strangers. We love that each person gets their own bedroom and bathroom. Also, the kitchen has very nice appliances, and there is lots of counter space. I also love that we’ll have a living room to hang out in as well as a porch/​balcony outside. Can’t wait to move in! :)

The Connection has been my home for almost 1 year, and I just renewed my lease. The staff is friendly, and maintenance is thorough and fast. I requested maintenance online, the manager approved, and maintenance had it repaired within a few days, at no cost to me. This is the type of service you want to have where you live. My favorite things are the friendly staff, the way the entire property is maintained, and the pools. I recommend The Connection.

This place is not what they advertise it as.
Do not be fooled by their nice show room apartment they show you, or their nice website. Management at this place in terrible. They didn’t show me my apartment until the day I moved in (big mistake). It did not look like the show room apartment at all. The carpets where dirty. Just everything in the apartment looked like it was poorly maintained. When I asked management to fix these things, they refused to do it. They seriously need new management.

I don’t even want to leave a star here but I have to.
I am living here for four years and everything seems good before I sign a lease. But once you have problems to come to office, they have to let you talk to the manager. And them the manager called «Wendy» will say she can not do anything for us.
I won’t live here any more.

Stay away from this place. New management will not take ownership of the previous managements short comings. I was placed in a two bedroom unit with completely irresponsible roommate (they told me it was the only available unit at the time) he left the apartment in the absolute worst condition. I was stuck in this first floor unit and as a result, required to pay a first floor premium! The laundry closet was flooded, dead insects littered the floors, dog urine and feces marked the floor, flies! everywhere! the living room furniture was torn and missing legs, the blinds were broken. I asked to be moved into another unit, they said it would cost me $ 200. I stayed. Soon after the place was cleaned up, bigger problems emerged (i.e. MOLD), their solution was to paint over it. After much pleading they returned to further investigate and had to get into the air duct to actually fix the problem. At least they did. They placed me with a new roommate, one I had never known nor had a chance to review (as they told me was the policy at move-​in). He too had a dog, it too was untrained.
Early into the new year, I got a job offer out of town. After several attempts to sublease my apartment frustrated by the management office (I was told if a woman wanted to sublease my unit, she had to live with my male roommate! no option to occupy another unit or share with another female).
After the leasing office sent a generic sublease confirmation letter and then having it rebuffed when I called to confirm (I was told to just ignore it!) I received an email on today ⁰⁴⁄₃₀ that the latest person signed on to sublease my apartment could not follow through and I will still be responsible for the lease. They did not wait to withdraw $ 200 from my account to complete this transaction (another fee) yet they waited till the day before rent is due to drop this bomb.
It is not worth the agony, spend your money where the management team will respect its value but more importantly, respect your sanity. Yes, The Connection hosts pool parties in the summer (you don’t have to live there to attend) Do not be fooled. The Connection should be your last resort, AFTER Hawks Pointe, The Grove, The Reserve AND The Towers.
