History

Established in 1989.

Started by Paul Terfler with help from his mother Cheryl Bowman went after his Dream of opening a bar. Inspiration for the bar was influenced by his love of pool. Paul’s grate and friendly attitude helped the bar become a Fun and Friendly atmosphere. However In mid 2000 Paul Died at a early age from a Heart attack leaving behind his mother, father and loving son. Cheryl determent to honor the memory of Paul kept the bar on a path for success by taking the lead and expanding the bar which added a down stairs section. Now Tristan Terfler, Pauls son now looks to soon run the bar just as his father did.

Astro’s is a funny little pool room with plenty of tables. My boyfriend and I absolutely love coming here. The billiards are cheap and the drink specials are incredibly good on any day. It’s a little dive-​y, but I frankly love that kind of thing. The bartenders are quick and friendly, and there are always open tables to play pool.
I don’t make a lot of money and find tons of value in this place; no matter how down on my luck I may be, I can always afford a little distraction by taking myself to Astros and catching a cool buzz and knocking around a couple of cue balls.
The most hilarious thing about this place, though, is definitely the music. It will jump genres wildly, one minute, you’re screaming about how you Don’t Stop Believing, the next, you cry into a beer over Lady Antebellum.

I’ve been to Astro’s on several occasions (one was a first date actually), mainly to play pool. They have a large number of tables, so it’s never an issue finding an open one. Each game costs a mere 50 cents.
Bud Light pitchers run cheap, about $ 5.25. There’s also a patio outside for smokers. Astros plays a variety of music from rock to hiphop, mirroring the different types of people that enter. Though there’s never been a wait, the only downside might be the small bathrooms.
The place begins to check IDs towards the evening, so if you’re under 21, you’re out of luck. But overall, Astros is a good place to hang out with friends for cheap and even go for a no-​pressure-​added date (even if you’re not a pool hall junkie).
