The best sports venue EVER. I’ve seen Lakers games, Colorado Avalanche, Vikings, Chiefs, Royals, Twins, Boise State football in their heyday and more. This is by far my fave! All the feels.

Phenomenal experience and great location. As a visiting team from West Virginia… we loved the venue, fans, and atmosphere. I can understand why there is a big hype about Allen Field House and it’s reputation serves them well.

If you go to a KU basketball game, men’s or women’s, or other event, you have a treat in store!
A new addition has been built on the east side, ground level, of historic Allen Fieldhouse, making room for thousands of photos, National Championship Trophies, game balls, uniforms and many other displays highlighting the history of KU sports and the University of Kansas Hall of Fame, not just for basketball. Many of the displays are chronologically arranged, making a trip back through KU sports history a breeze.
And if you have not been to a KU Men’s Basketball game, you are missing one of the greatest experiences in American sport, college or otherwise. The place is always packed, the fans are raucous, the KU pride without equal and the team routinely highly ranked, making for an extremely exciting and memorable experience.
Being a national dynasty, KU Men’s Basketball games are not just difficult to get tickets for, they are somewhat expensive, so go to a women’s game starting at only $ 6, making sure to allow 30 – 60 minutes before a game to take-​in the sights at the Booth Family Hall of Athletics … it’s free!

Choice venue for a basketball game… I salute you Dr. Naismith!
Definitely aim for the chair backs. Although, I’m pretty sure you can’t buy those!

PAY HEED. This is on everyone’s sport bucket list for a reason, it doesn’t matter if the Jayhawks are playing Pitt state or Ohio state, the Fieldhouse will be sold out and LOUD every night. Rock chalk!

So this is what everybody in town raves about. The kingdom. The palace of basketball history. This is such a beautiful stadium! The place is clean, spotless, trophies and plaques everywhere, history of past legends on the wall, etc,
Allen Fieldhouse is truly breathtaking. You can sense the pride here. It’s like the school is 100% dedicated to basketball and their team. Such a site to see.
As I walked inside and got a free tour, I made my first stop at their sports apparel team store. Lots of hats, jerseys, accessories, etc. this was like a store out of a mall. Next me and my gf did some activities such as measuring our wing span and taking pics by trophies. That was fun!
We got to go inside the stadium and witness what fans feel. Even though there wasn’t a game going on, I felt the history and the ultimate feel of the stadium. I walked up and down the bleachers, took my time in the center of the court looking at the scoreboard and floor décor. Everything is so clean and well put together.
I definitely feel that every tourist that travels to KS/​MO should pay a visit to this stadium and recognize how important basketball is for this area. It’s almost like a museum of some sort. I had a real blast walking through! Thanks a lot!

If you have never been to Allen Field House, you are missing out. The venue is not big and shiny. It is old, creaky in some places, but filled with love, tradition and the smell of basketball. There are no bad seats in AFH. You can’t help but get swept up in the enthusiasm of the crowd. There are no words to describe this experience.
Parking is a breeze, concessions and restrooms are easily assessable. Easy
In, easy out. Again, there are no bad seats in AFH. Some seats are, granted, better than others, but any seat is great for AFH energy.
There are interactive displays in the lobby and the sports museum are also in the lobby. Terrific displays and memorabilia to view. KU is, after all, the birthplace of basketball.
Seeing a game at AFH should be on everyone’s Bucket List.

BEST college basketball venue anywhere PERIOD. Birthplace of basketball. The energy, the history the level of talent you get to see regularly is nothing short of amazing. I grew up in Lawrence and went to KU. First game I saw there was 1971. Even if you are not a KU fan and just a mild college basketball fan if you get a chance to see a game there YOU MUST DO SO! Nothing else like AFH. RCJH!!!

Forget about Disney, this is the real happiest place on earth. Anyone who hasn’t attended a game here is really living an unfulfilled life. Throwing newspaper, waving the wheat, stand in your beer, Rock Chalk Chant, there are just so many things I love about this place. Try to come back once a year for a game and I miss it the other 364 days that I’m not there.

I have been to several NBA games, but this one KU basketball game beats all of them combined!
The interaction of the crowd was extremely unbelievable! I don’t even know how to explain it. I think it’s something that you should experience yourself at least once.
The only down side is definitely the price. My boyfriend and I paid about $ 80/​a ticket when we went. The venue is a lot smaller than NBA venues, so any seat in the house is actually a good one.
TIP: Arrive early! Make sure you don’t miss the opening scene!

The best and the loudest! Never a dull moment. Rock Chalk, Jayhawk. Bill Self really knows what he’s doing. It’s nothing without the student section.

Epic sports venue. Worth the trip for fans and the curious alike.
Even if you don’t like KU or basketball you must pay heed. KU Hall of Fame is a must see if only to be reminded of or educated in what KU has done.
Tickets won’t come cheap for a game that matters, but hearing the fans chant at the end of a victorious game is something you have to witness in person to appreciate.

Best sports venue. Ever.
If you ever get a chance to see a game here, DO IT. Especially conference games against other Big 12 teams. Those games get considerably more energetic as they are more meaninngful to the team’s season. EVERY seat is a good one, even at the very top. I go to as many games as I can each year. It is really one of the few places where it’s better to be there than taking option 2, which is sitting at home in front of your huge plasma TV drinking your own alcohol and being able to pause the game to get a snack. Now if that isn’t a recommendation, I don’t know what is!
Even if you aren’t a «KU fan» go to a game. It’s really something special.

I’ve only been here a handful of times.
And only for Women’s Basketball and 1 Men’s Basketball.
Not a horrible atmosphere, unless you’re from K-​State or Mizzou, I guess.

You don’t have to be a basketball fan to appreciate the incredible experience that is «The Phog.» Allen Fieldhouse is hands down the best venue to watch basketball within the KC Metro area. As someone who didn’t make their first trek to the Phog until I was a doctoral student at KU, I realized what I’ve been missing all these years and kicked myself.
Everything about the experience here is geared toward the fans. There isn’t a bad seat in the house, every seat rocks and rolls with the enthusiasm of the crowd, and you can’t beat the pageantry of the fans and love for their beloved Jayhawks.
It doesn’t matter if KU is playing St Helen of the Blessed Shroud Orphanage or Mizzou, Allen Fieldhouse rumbles just the same.
Regardless of your team loyalty, get to a game here and prepare to be amazed.

It’s the mecca of college basketball. Coaches, journalists and people with far more experience than I say it’s probably the greatest place to watch college basketball on the planet. It’s hands down the hottest sports ticket in the region.
February 25, 2012 — was lucky enough to attend the last meeting of KU and Missouri. As the picture I snapped after the game shows, KU 87 — Missouri 86. Now there’s a recipe for a 5-​star rating, for a Kansas fan at least!
The introductory video before games is one of the most amazing sports experiences. The history, the great players, the tradition. The town of Lawrence is indeed lucky to have this as a part of our community.

Hands down, there is no better basketball experience to be had anywhere on earth. Other universities bow to the corporate gods and take millions to build «state of the art» arenas, but at KU, the appropriate reverence is paid to the history housed within the walls of Allen Fieldhouse. This is what makes KU Basketball KU Basketball. North Carolina? Duke? Kentucky? Not even close. They’ll never have what KU has because they don’t have Allen Fieldhouse nor the fan base that is built year after year in that historic building.
