Kasai Teriyaki Bowl

If I could give this place no stars, I would. It took me awhile to write this review, but the horrible memory did not fade. We picked up 2 teriyaki bowls (to go), and when we got home, realized that we were served to charcoal bowls. I seriously can’t believe we were served this. I mean, was the kitchen on fire or something? My husband called to let them know, and they did not offer a replacement or our money back. At that point we were already home and disappointed. we did not feel like going back. As a business, if a customer tells you that you served them charcoal, a little more effort towards an apology and at LEAST an offer to replace it would be appreciated, and perhaps a start to having a regular customer and maybe a recommendation to friends, which will not happen from us! Check out the photos. the first photo has tiny burnt pieces, the second photo has bigger chunks of burnt pieces throughout.

Love that they have delivery. Hidden spot in lawndale. Must try! I always get the chicken and beef combo with avocado and it’s so delicious the quality in food is good.

This place is tucked in a little plaza corner and I almost passed it if it weren’t for their signs. Walking in you would see the small counter with about 5 tables for dining. Their menu is pretty basic with beef and chicken bowls. I was kind of in a rush to order and didn’t realize that i could have saved money by ordering a beef and avocado plate. Oh well! The cashier was pretty nice and my food came out pretty quick. The beef tasted decent and the avocado was fresh and delicious. Quite a good amount of rice too so my tummy was happy.

Tried it today ordered the combo chicken and beef came with a salad my girlfriend ordered the chicken and shrimp also came with a salad. The food was great service was fast. Chicken was nicely done so was the beef. The salad was great the dressing was very good.
Nice to have some good teriyaki in lawndale.

My favorite chicken teriyaki !!! My cousin showed me this place and I go here all the time ! The owner is very friendly and my food is always ready after I call in my order I don’t have to wait around!

We ordered two large chicken bowl and it was delicious!!! Price is reasonable. We went on Saturday around 10AM and it wasn’t busy at all.

Very good! Didn’t give 5 stars only because they put more rice than meat in the bowls.

I got the teriyaki chicken and avocado and it was the bomb! The avocado was perfectly ripe and a really fun, yummy addition to teriyaki chicken. The service was great too — the owner of the restaurant was super nice and made sure we enjoyed the food. I’ll definitely be back again!

We came on a Monday night and the place was empty. Small with 3 tables, but it did look clean. There was no one there and finally a cook came out. He couldn’t answer any of the questions about the menu and referred us to the cashier.
Ordered a chicken and shrimp combo (comes with salad and thousand island sauce, but no drink), and a beef and avocado bowl.
There seems to be a lot of sauce on the meat and there is a lot of rice. My shrimp was crunchy and my chicken was fine. It was dark meat so it wasn’t dry. The beef was also good, but a small portion spread out on the plate. There is A LOT of rice underneath.
All in all, this is a good place to go to if you’re in the area. If not, Rascals in Gardena and Flame Broiler are better options. They do have a sign that says no msg for health conscious people :)

I would have never found this place on my own. I’m glad that a good friend of mine invited me to tag along with her to get some food here. Its located in a small strip mall across the street from El Pollo Inka. As soon as I entered the door, the owner greeted me with a smile and asked what I would like to order. The location is small, but they seem geared for take out orders. The portions are generous and the food tastes great. I would compare it to a mom and pop version of The Flame Broiler. Prices are pretty cheap as well. The big TV they have in there is usually on a Korean soap opera channel, but i’m there for the food, not whats on TV.
The only problem i had there was the shrimp. I believe $ 3.75 is too much for 2 pieces of fried breaded shrimp. The ones i received were half the size of the ones you see on the menu. Everything else on the menu is great. Wait time for the food is about 10 – 15 minutes. Would recommend ordering over the phone and pick it up later.

Don’t let the outside fool you, Kasai is delicious. I wondered why they didn’t have 5 stars all the way around. I read the very few people who have had a «bad» experience at Kasai and behold, they complain about the dumbest things or nothing food related or just like to complain perhaps.
Let’s talk about why Kasai is so good: the food is excellent. I have enjoyed the chicken teriyaki bowl with extra meat, brown rice. Delicious and filling, the food draws us out from the Westside to the South Bay so we cam enjoy. Someone else mentioned the uniqueness of the sauce. My wife and I also noticed the sauce as being extra delicious. I have tried the burger which is good in its own right, but man that chicken is so good. I noticed they use a flame grill which are is certain why the food is so good.
Steve, the owner, is so kind and considerate of his customers and always welcomes us with a cheery smile and greeting.
Do yourself a favor and try the chicken teriyaki. You will thank yourself!

Nice and small just inside of a little strip mall across the street from El Pollo Inka. Friendly staff, large sized television. Food was pretty good and tasty, but no picture (s) because I was quite hungry.
Portion size was good.

They no longer carry sushi/​California rolls though

This place is horrible. First off, they don’t have chicken breast, so if you are looking for an all white meat bowl, you’re shot out of luck.
I ended up ordering a burger combo. The burger was paper thin, bun was beyond dry. The fries tasted like they’d been sitting in a warmer for an hour, disgusting.
My partner here at work go a side of teriyaki beef, it wasn’t even a full side, my 2 yr old great nephew could have eaten that and still been hungry.
I don’t recommend this place, at all… EVER!!! You want a good teriyaki bowl find a Waba Grill.

Quality and tastey food at a very affordable price. Very fast food vibe with only seating at three tables. Good option for take out. Very friendly staff who really wanted to make sure I liked my food. I did and I’ll be back for the tasty chicken and avocado.

I’ve been to Kasai twice and both meals have been delicious. The chicken teriyaki is tender and well grilled and the sauce is not overly sweet. I had the beef too which was thinly sliced and flavorful and tender. It’s a tiny mom and pop place with seating for 10. They take charge cards. It is clean. They have a website
. The food is prepared to order. My beef and chicken combo (rice and green salad) was about $ 8. Bowls come on S, M, LG. I’ll return without hesitation.

Today was my first time having Kasai. Let me just say, this place is really good. I had the ChickenTeriyaki bowl. The chicken was yummy! topped with a glaze of their teriyaki sauce and chopped green onions and sesame seed all on a bed of steamed rice. De-​Lici-​Ous!
I also had the Chicken Ramen soup! Definitely worth the try, I will be coming back for more of this great food!
And the price for the food is bonus, very affordable :)
