Big Ed is expensive, and not all the produce is local. I purchased a very large canteloupe for $ 3.99, which is a good price, but a vegan cannot live on fruit, and this place doesn’t have the kind of vegetables required for a good vegan meal. Also, parking is very limited outside the store.

Quality jersey fresh at fair prices. Best tip is that they have Joe Leoni’s mozzarella and bread. So if you need your mozzarella and tomato fix with some high end extra virgin olive oil and balsamic this is the place. Part of my food trifecta with Lasolas and Ortley Seafood.

I’ve been a patron of Big Ed’s basically since before I can remember. It’s really a great place to buy local Jersey produce when visiting the beach. The market is actually attached to the family’s home and has a very«trustworthy» feel to it. Not only do they have super fresh veggies but they sell breads, desserts, salad dressings, flowers, cheeses and more. It’s more expensive then you’d pay at A&P but the quality makes up for it.
