Total Recon

I was limited on time and money. The owner worked with me on detailing the interior of a very messy minivan. I could not have been more pleased with my car or the customer service. Don’t hesitate to give them a call!

It’s was Snomaggedon this past week… and tomorrow will be in the 40, leading to the 60s the next two days SO I’m trying to get a jump start on the line wrapped around my regular wash place. I ran across an advertisement on FB and decided to walk-​in.
I pulled in around 530pm on a Friday night, I asked about getting my car washed and was sheepishly anticipating they would be booked with appointments. The nice young man who approached my car gave me a brief overview of the services I could get here. I told him a basic wash would be fine and that FB ad said walk-​ins were acceptable for a basic wash. He confirmed and said I could be serviced shortly.
The young man escorted me to the customer waiting room… equipped with a kuerig, a couch and seat, a flat screen TV for entertainment. He also provided me with the wi-​fi code, remote, and a business card to review their website.
I definitely felt welcomed… glad to be inside and away from the 35 degree weather… and treated as if they had no other customers.
In about 45 mins my car, Kona, was completely clean. I did a thorough inspection. The wheels looked absolutely fantastic! Body was shining, they vacuumed the inside. I was impressed. Clearly whatever elixir they used didn’t look like someone wiped my tires… I mean they were reflecting. Left a pic of my baby.

Awesome experience with Total Recon. Called to ask if they could buff off a scratch on my car. Told me to come in so they can check it out anytime. Arrived at Total Recon, they assessed the scratch and estimated a labor time of 30 minutes. Car was done in less then 30 minutes and they have a nice waiting room with free wifi and a tv! Owner explain that since they couldn’t completed buff out the scratch due the paint being metallic and going down to the metal. That he would not charge full price for the service, and discounted the price for me.
They recommend that I go to the local car dealer to get some touch up paint to cover the metal to avoid corrosion. When I told him I had the paint in the car. The worker went the extra mile and touched up the scratch that reach down to the metal without me asking!
They also do car washes and detailing. Definitely going to come back and get the car detail.

I’ve had Total Recon Detail a number of my vehicles and they never disappoint. They take the time too clean what other detailing companies overlook and they offer interior repair making them a one stop shop for auto reconditioning. I highly recommend Total Recon!

Believe the hype!!! From the moment I called to schedule my appointment to the the time I left their shop, they were courteous and helpful. I was running behind on the day of the appointment and expected to feel rushed when I called for the exact location or walked in but there was none of that.
Now on to the car I purchased a salvage vehicle where some parts with oil and dirt had been thrown onto the seat and floor. They were able to get all of this and every other stain inside that vehicle out.
I had purchased a Groupon for interior detailing (wished I had purchased the exterior groupon too) and because of how wowed I am, I will be returning to this shop to get my car cleaned again and recommending them to anyone who would like their vehicle cleaned.

I wonder why I haven’t posted a review yet. This place is legit. I have taken my car here a couple of times. They are always quick and do an amazing job. Service is great the guy that I usually deal with is awesome.

The team at Total Recon did a wonderful job waxing my car and restoring my headlights. I am still amazed at how clean my car looks even though it has been raining the past week. I really like being able to catch up on some work using the wi-​fi and watch football as I waited for my car.
I will definitely be back.

Purchased a Groupon for an interior deluxe clean. Now the inside of my cat looks brand new. I never thought it could get as clean as they got it with years of soiled dirt and stains. The staff is very professional and knowledgeable about their work. I highly recommend them and will be a returning customer.

I got the exterior/​interior package today for my wife.
I have never gotten anything like this before, and I’m blown away at how clean they got the car. The car is cleaner than when she bought it from Carmax 6 years ago (and honestly, that’s last time it’s been cleaned.)
They got stains out that I thought were permanent, and spots cleaned that I didn’t think we’re reachable.
The boss and his workers were very friendly, and the service is top notch. I can’t say enough good things, made an incredible birthday gift.

This was my first time ever having my vehicle professionally detailed; my car looked brand new after leaving. I live in Laurel and typically go to the local car washes… NEVER AGAIN!!! Every nook and cranny of my car was clean. Total Recon «totally» cleaned my vehicle inside and out. The owner and his employees provided A+++ service; I would highly recommend them.

To piggy back off of what Lorenzo Simms has stated — I called the day before to schedule the appointment and the day of had to call again to push my appointment back. Day (The owner) was very accommodating. Only for me to leave work early and show up an hour and a half early. They had just finished another car and started on mine immediately. In addition to the inside of the car, they cleaned the trunk as well. My car left the shop SPOTLESS and not a piece of dog hair. Their attention to detail and overall customer service is unparallelled! Kudos to the team.

We had dog hair in the front seat, and back seat. Plus stains and thought our car was a lost cause. We are quite active with our dog, taking her hiking, swimming, rolling in the mud. After she’s finished just up, up, up and she jumps in the back or front seat.
Our car was detailed yesterday and it only took a few hours. Brand new car, and if anyone knows how hard dog hair is to clean up, you understand why this place is so great. I wish I would have taken before and after pictures.
Excellent service, great group of guys, truly hard working, I highly recommend this place.

We have taken two vehicles here in the past week and both came out perfect. The owner is very accommodating and has a high attention to detail. He visually inspected the vehicles in front of us and if he saw anything he fixed it right away. He then asked me to walk around my truck to check just to make sure that I was happy with the results or if I saw anything that needed some more attention. The two gentlemen he has working for him did a great job and were also very accommodating when I took my truck in this morning. I will be going here again and will recommend them to anyone I know. While I waited I had a great breakfast at More Than Java Café across the street, which I also recommend. The employee did ask me if I would be waiting at the shop, so I assume this would be at the waiting room that Anon R. was speaking about.
As far as Anon R’s review, I saw nothing but the opposite. The owner was very professional and when I walked into the shop on Monday one of his employees called him to set up the appointment, which makes me believe Anon is lying about having an appointment set up. From the tone of the review, the reviewer seems a little self entitled; but that is just my opinion. (Must be nice to never have to move your own bike.) The owner and employees were nothing but polite and never one time did I feel harassed, intimidated, or bullied.
Overall, I will bring my vehicles back here again to be detailed. The work is professional and the owner is committed to customer satisfaction.

I highly recommend and we’ll be back again! They did an excellent job with customer service, explaining their rates, providing an accurate time estimate, and were extremely professional. It was great to see my car in amazing shape again! Don’t hesitate to contact them!

Staff was professional and friendly. They even dropped me off at work when I told them I was trying to secure a ride and offered to pick me up if I didn’t have a ride back! I got a total detail and hard wax. My car was so pretty! Just like new! They even got all of the melted crayon from my rear cup holder! (Yeah… lol #2boys) Wouldn’t recommend waiting there at TR for your vehicle… it is a garage after all an garage environment. If you wanted to wait, it’s located in the middle of main street so it is walking distance from lots of cute little shops, the laurel pool, parks (a really scenic one right behind pool actually) and places to eat. Thanks guys again for your help and for doing a wonderful job!

Totally unprofessional, traumatic experience — such that I question authenticity (or solicitation) of other reviews.
I’m sad to say that I found the owner to be totally rude, confrontational, defensive, angry, and controlling. Ultimately I felt harassed, intimidated, and actually bullied — strong words which have never crossed my mind for Unilocal review. Came only bc Groupon for interior cleaning. Please don’t go here.
Problem started when I called to let him know that I was leaving work for 6p appt (i.e., would be a little late). I had been told that they «take walkins» after 6p and their door says they’re open till 9p during week. He had no record of rescheduled appt (despite long phone call) and said he’d have to call in someone else to work on my car. He kept asking me who scheduled this appt (even after I repeatedly told him that I didn’t know, I was slightly taken aback by his tone/​persistence; customers seldom know «who» is on phone). When I asked if I should still come, he said yes.
After I got there, when I asked for help getting bike out of car, he just retorted, «well how did it get in there?» I responded that people help me with my bike (most even seem happy to help). When he didn’t respond, I asked if he had heard my answer to his question, he retorted he hadn’t asked me anything. I had to move my bike by myself for the first time, ever. By this point, I wanted to leave but had already driven all the way to Laurel (which I’d been looking fwd to exploring), but it started raining very heavily.
I didn’t realize there was supposed to be a waiting room or wifi until I looked at another Unilocal review while waiting. With no apology, owner said it would be «unhealthy» for me to be in «painted» waiting room undergoing «renovation». So I had to wait/​watch from lawn chair in their closed unventilated garage in front of a pile of drywall breathing chemical fumes, which actually made me lightheaded (and sweaty).
While I was watching/​waiting under these uncomfortable conditions, owner (who was supposedly working on my car) spent so much time texting that I felt like my business (and $) were interfering with his time with his iPhone — except that he was literally leaning on my car during all that texting. I directly observed more than 20 minutes (mostly continuously), and who knows for how much longer when I left to grab sandwich. When I asked about wifi/​password, he just said, «I thought you were leaving.» (What’s the point? I wanted to, but it’s raining too hard, and now I’ve been sitting in your garage watching you text this whole time.) Twice, when I said «thank you» (when he finally provided password, then later), he didn’t even say «you’re welcome».
Then he started to verbally accuse me of being «rude,» I just responded that I really wasn’t being rude and tried to leave it at that. To avoid further confrontation, I didn’t respond that I had actually thought owner had been totally rude. Out of concern, I even asked his coworker if he was having a bad day. I felt like I had to interrupt the coworker (who was vacuuming) about bathroom — specifically to avoid dealing with owner, who was just leaning on my car and texting.
I asked for paper towel so that I could remove some particles/​dirt. The owner then asked me to let him know if I saw things so that they could take care of it and proceeded to use large vacuum in small plastic compartments — actually, I really would have preferred that I just used cloth at that point, but didn’t want to say anything further and was just encouraged that he was finally acting/​speaking more professionally. When I mentioned that I still needed plastic floor mat and asked if it was dry yet, they said that it was — but the underside was still dirty (even still had dried leaves), needed recleaning.
Then, as I was loading my car, I finally made the mistake of telling the owner that I’d been trying to avoid an argument and told him about some issues. The owner ordered his coworker to stop working and for me to leave his garage, then repeatedly threatened to call the police because I was getting «violent» and he was getting «afraid» (how is a petite Asian woman finally speaking up a sign of «violence» when you’re twice my weight?) Since I was actually trying to leave, I felt like this was just harassment and intimidation. He wouldn’t allow the coworker to help me with my bike or the back seat (which was stuck), even saying that «he works for me and I’m telling him not to help you.» It wasn’t until I found someone else off street to help that he decided to put seat back.
I felt like the owner accused me of negative behaviors that he was exhibiting, that he was seeking confrontation that I had tried hard to avoid, that he was controlling others, and that he was aggressively trying to intimidate me. I felt like this was bullying.

Highly recommend. Will be back! This place took my dirty ass suv and made it brand new again. They have attention to detail and I could not find a spot that was still dirty after they were done. Call before you get a coupon as they will probably match or beat those deals. When you get there the business is behind the main building. Free Wifi, nice waiting area and good eats in are. Definitely make an appointment as they do one car at a time.

Having never had my car detailed before, I didn’t have much of a frame of reference going into my appointment. But suffice it to say I am more than satisfied. I used the Living Social deal for a wash, wax, and interior detail and my 2010 Ford Fusion looks showroom-​ready. A little backstory: The Fusion was my wife’s company car and prior to deciding to buy it when it went off-​lease, let’s just say we treated it like we wouldn’t have to deal with the consequences. Now that we bought it, we figured it’d be nice to freshen it up a bit. Goal accomplished. The guys at Total Recon didn’t leave any stone unturned. There’s an upcharge to take care of serious dog hair issues, but frankly they did such a good job that it wasn’t even necessary (let’s face it, the hair would be back within a day anyway). On top of everything the guys are super-​friendly and they have a cozy waiting area with wifi and a large TV in case you decide to wait while they work. Definitely going back to have them buff out some scratches in the future.

Unfortunately Unilocal only allows 5 stars but this place deserves 10!!! The customer service is as equally awesome as the work and price. I cracked my passenger side view mirror and paid less in total parts and labor then what I would’ve paid with just the mirror online. It took not even 5 minutes to replace. Damon and Jamaal are THE best!
I mentioned my brake fluid and brakes so they checked my fluids and advised me of what was wrong with my brakes and the most cost effective way of getting them fixed as well as suggestive car care… for free! No sales pitches, no catches, no gimmicks, or tricks. These guys are genuinely about helping you and your car. So far so good and I can’t wait to post another awesome review.
