At 49, Mike has been rebuilding transmissions for 31 years, since 1984. After learning from the best, Mike opened his own shop in 1989. «Back then, computers were just starting to show up in cars and trucks, along with new transmission designs. Imports were becoming more common, along with front wheel drive.», he recalls, «This presented challenges for the industry. At the time, transmissions hadn’t changed in 20 years, so the old bugs were worked out. The newer transmission models, however, had many design flaws that had to be corrected. Cars and trucks made today are generally much better.»
