Precision Garage Doors sent Matt over to check out my broken Liftmaster opener. He was friendly, knowledgeable, thorough, offered me three different options, and did exactly what they said they would do.
Door works great now, very pleased with the service. Great job, Precision Garage Doors!

I would not recommend Precision. Their goal is not to provide a complete, well-​executed solution. I used them to install a new garage motor. Although the motor worked, the wiring was very messy and untidy. I will now need to call another contractor to fix that. They also didn’t tell me what all I would need to have on hand for them to do their job. After they came, I had to make runs to the hardware store. Further, they discovered a small problem with my door while they were there and quoted me a ridiculous price for a very small job. Overall, I was not satisfied with the quality and the overall attitude towards the job.

I had a GREAT experience with this company. They fixed both of my garage doors on 1÷25÷16. They answered the phone when we called, made a quick appointment, and came at the exact time we agreed to. The repair man was friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. Both of our doors were messed up pretty bad, but he fixed them both in one visit and the charge was reasonable. No hesitation to use them again.

My garage door broke down as the spring broke. Previous company said I had to change the motor and the door. These guys came and just fiddled around the current door and left it working better that when I moved into the house 10 years ago

See my review for DMV Garage Door. Precision tech ok — JR who I spoke with subsequently — nice, helpful, informative. However here’s the problem. Had a spring pulley issue — broken on one side. Service representative took one look and started selling me a new garage door. To repair the spring pulley system $ 750 at least… might as well just get a new door — better insulation, blah blah blah. So he almost had me. Asked them to give me a written quote and tentatively schedule for that same week. Ok I don’t know much about these kind of things, so wanted to do some research — door they are proposing, motor, etc. During search for average cost to repair replace garage doors, I ran into an article that stated the broken spring/​pulley is often used to scam homeowners into doing a full door replacement. Ahh! So taking the warning seriously and then checking Unilocal… how could I have forgotten to check Unilocal?I found DMV/​Ben who came by within an hour of calling him. He offered an extremely reasonable quote to fix/​replace springs/​pulleys on both sides of door — even replace the connectors used by the original installer which left me with a metal rod which was about 4 inches longer than the rod it connected to — leaving me less clearance between the top of car and this rod… I had asked about cutting it (that’s what Allen at Precision suggested). Looking at the connectors after he left, it looks like Ben just replaced the connector. Anyway, long story short — all fixed, working perfectly — door no longer looks slanted… just so happy that I decided to do my homework.

One star for showing in time frame. I read reviews on the internet about how they immediately come in and try to sell you on expensive replacement systems… Yup… He couldn’t in good conscious repair the door without replacing it with a two spring system over 400. After graciously disagreeing — he goes to call his service manager… Well for 180 we’ll repair it but we won’t warrant the work… Hmmmm. Yea… I’d trust you to fix it now… Highly advise using someone else. 49 just for this 10 minute exchange… Total waste of my time and money.

Our garage door broke on Memorial Day weekend so we called this company. They sent over a repair guy Garry and we were happy that we were able to get some help over the holiday. Although, that was great Garry gave us bad news that the part that broke on our garage was a spring that they no longer manufacture. He gave us the option to upgrade for 1000.00. My husband decided to think about it. Then my husband noticed that our garage had a company number on it for the company that installed it. He called to see if by chance they have one of these rare springs in stock now that they are not made anymore. Turns out they still make these springs… they aren’t rare at all. They are still being manufactured. So the company or at least this representative was trying to scam us. I would think twice about going with them if I were you.

On Thursday, April 2 at 3pm Precision Door Garage technician «Gary» Arrived for appointment to program our new SUV remote control with garage door opener. Upon opening the garage several times he begin trying to force the opening mechanism while the garage was open and BROKE the timing chain. Realizing that the garage would no longer open or close with automation, he advised my husband we needed new springs. Ten minutes later he said we needed an entire NEW garage opener. We could not believe it, note, the garage was fully and properly opening upon his arrival. We challenged him, called his company and begin to get the run around. First we spoke with Michael, Shift Manager? (Not sure if this the right title) who informed us that before Gary does anything to our/​any garage he must advise us that he has to check 25 points inspection by LAW. We explained NO ONE ever mentioned that to us, because we called only to have the SUV remote programmed, nothing else. Further, we advised Gary of what Michael said and he said, he knew nothing about it being a law but Precision wants them to do it. We then researched the law and found NOTHING and NO truth to such inspection or law. After, realizing Michael was lying, he then put Derrick Easterday, General Manager, who stuck by their story/​lie advised that they needed to speak with the owner. At this point, Gary has spent a half hour or more in his truck talking on the phone. He advises that the owner, Harry Hall would like to offer us a discount on the the garage opener. By now we are not interested in Precision doing anything. They have proved to be incompetent and DISHONEST. We do not TRUST them. I asked to speak with the owner, Harry, Gary goes back to the truck and beginning talking on the phone again. Finally, advising us that there would be no charge and he was just leaving. Precision Door Garage, INCOMPETENT, DISHONEST, DO NOT TRUST.
This company CAN NOT BE TRUSTED the denies and lies continues. Precision’s customer service DEPLORABLE. We can not believe their correspondences, they have NO ETHICS. The pervious correspondence, they denied touching our opener, yet in this correspondence they admit their technician performed the 25 point safety check… how was this performed without touching the opener, further, now they admit somehow the cover was removed by the technician… Note, when the technician arrived, our opener was fully operable, their technician BROKE it… when he left the opener was totally INOPERABLE. With business practices like this, continue counting on past ratings and awards, masking your technician’s incompetence and your company’s morals. This business is MORALLY UNETHICAL, DISHONEST, INCOMPETENT and NOT TRUSTWORTHY

I have used them twice now. Once for the installation of a new garage door in Ellicott City and once for service on our garage door on a rental property in Bowie. Both experiences were great. Responsive, helpful, and always on time. We have dealt with the same person both times (JR), so maybe it depends who you get but we’ve been very happy with them.

Precision Garage Door Repair:
…NO. I had them come out and give me an estimate on a REPAIR. The trolley bar was bent and there was a SMALL dent in the door. The door would not close without causing more damage so I had to leave it open. Precision Garage told me I needed a whole new door. Once a door is bent, the door is no good. Really? Even if you carry the 1, that 2 + 2 does not equal 4. So I called around and discovered Crescent Garage Doors in Annapolis. Not only did they come out same day, he fixed it same day. Even if $ 500 was pricey for the repair, it beats being told you need a whole new door at no less than $ 1500. I was born on A day Precision, just not yesterday. Highly NOT RECOMMENDED.

Beware! I had one broken extension spring on my garage door and two others (out of four total) that looked as if they were going. The Precision tech (who was late, with no apologies) came out, just glanced at it and said I needed everything new – new springs, rollers, bearings, supports, tracks AND garage door – for a mere $ 1600. Meanwhile, everything was working just fine, the door went up and down, the garage door was in fine shape. There was just that one broken spring. So I was suspicious. I still had to pay him the $ 49 ‘service’ fee.
After a little research I realized that the springs are easily replaced. In fact, they sell them at Lowe’s. They are color coded so you can be sure to get the correct one. I called another company and asked if they would replace this kind of spring if I bought it at Lowe’s. They said, ‘sure, they do it all the time.’ Each spring cost $ 18×4 springs = $ 72. The better company’s service charge was $ 120. For that, he not only replaced the springs, but also checked, tightened and lubricated everything, and said it looked fine. He explained to me how to do this maintenance myself in the future. So, for less than $ 200, the repair was made, and he said this should last for another 8 – 10 years.
Don’t fall for Precision’s scam!

I called on a Sunday just to see their hours and someone answered, took my information, set up an appointment that was convenient and emailed me the confirmation (very professional). In the email, they provided the name and a picture of the technician; nice idea, we knew who the tech was before he arrived.
Barry C. (tech) called 30 minutes before arrival, explained absolutely everything he was going to do, provided options for the repair, time estimate to complete and the costs for each option. We originally had a single spring and switched to a double spring. The tech provided a good explanation with the logic behind a two spring system; simple, one spring snaps and the door will come crashing down! I managed to lift our two car garage door to get the cars out… WOW, I was surprised how #$&^%@! heavy the door was!
The repair was ~$ 450…but I received a 5 yr warranty, instead of 1 yr or 90 day (provided by other door repair companies). Hey I did not want to pay that amount any more than anyone else, but I can honestly say we received a quality product and quality work.

After getting estimate from Precision estimator on February 01, 2014 she said $ 49.95 so I repeat that’s it she the part not much, after the repair showed up he said need 2 springs and bearing the cost will be $ 515.95 so I have no choice just go ahead with it, on Monday I called other company find out the spring run between $ 19.00 to $ 65.00 and bearing $ 10.00 even I asked here the brand name to compare the part, he charge me $ 380.00 for 2 springs and $ 60.00 for bearing. on Monday I called to speak to manager (Henry) the girl said his busy, I called again on Tuesday the girl got so rude with me and said again his busy he will call you, I never got call back this door it should not be no more than $ 180.00 to repair it, at the highest,.

Our garage torsion spring broke and i called them up to ask if they can send a guy to give me a free estimate. The rep told me that they give quote over the phone and she said the range for the materials cost is 100 – 188 and the labor is 85 and that’s all I have to pay. What was not specifically mentioned was that quote for the material is not the total price of material. The cost was actually per piece of spring and I kept repeating over the phone that the material cost is that the TOTAL and the rep said yes. The total came out too high as I already got a previous quote from another company. I still had to pay 85 bux to the technician who just looked at what needs to be repaired which was the same information i gave them over the phone, that was, replace the torsion springs.
The technician who came over was explaining that the customer rep did not know those things. How hard it is to explain in the quote that you could have two springs to be replaced and that the price mentioned is per spring. Come on, if you do not offer free estimate, then just try to be more accurate on your phone quotes.
. if you go online, all they have are good reviews but no way to post my bad experience. Only Precision can update the reviews from what i can tell on their website.

They are fast and know their stuff. But the price is REALLY high. $ 285 ‘standard charge’ (plus service call charge) for rewinding my spring and rebalancing. 45 minutes work total and no new parts needed. I won’t use them again.

I called Precision Garage Door to help me fix an existing garage door where the hardware had failed. They took my name and number so a technician could contact me about potential solutions which would eliminate the cost of an onsite estimate. After 48 hours of not hearing from them, I called them back. They verified that they had my correct contact information. Essentially I explained to them that I cannot do business with a company that doesn’t respond to customer requests in a timely manner. I will not work with a company that does not respond to a customer’s call in 24 hours, much less 48 hours or not at all. This could be an isolated incident, but they will not be getting business from my family or my friends.
