Maxi Nails & Spa

I’m not one to write reviews, but in this case, I had to make an exception. I was drawn in by the sign «Free Manicure with Pedicure». I inquired as to the pricing and agreed to get the service. I decided about halfway through my pedicure to upgrade to the spa version because she said my skin was very dry. Then came the manicure. After she cut my cuticles, she asks if I want nail polish (color) on my nails. It would cost an extra $ 5! Huh? In my 30 years of getting manicures, I have never had to pay extra to get color! That’s the whole idea (unless I’m a man, of course)… I complained to no avail, and told them to just give me a base coat and I would go home and do the rest. Horrible bait and switch tactic here and there goes my plan to bring me or my parents here ever again! No wonder this place was nearly empty on a day that a nearby salon was packed!

There was no one there for a Saturday, I was pleasantly surprised. They didn’t have much selection for the gel colors or OPI which is why I gave them 3 stars. They did a great job on my mani and pedi. I would definitely come back.

They always take me immediately when I have an appointment. I am extremely pleased with their mani pedi and waxing skills. I would def recommend my friends to go there. Plus they are adorable and unlike most nail places don’t overbook and have you waiting for hours

I went to Maxi nails to get a pedicure and a fill. The facility was somewhat clean however it was cluttered with stuff. There was a sewing machine at one of the nail stations (really random) and there were all types of home merchandise just strewn about throughout the back of the building. One of the spa rooms looked like it was being utilized as storage. The sink where you wash your hands was dirty too. It was scuzzy and gross.
My pedicure was great. The guy did a great job. I appreciated the fact that he used gloves. I then had my fill done by a much older woman. She also did a great job and was quick. The design she did on my toes was good too. She improvised on the design because I didn’t have anything particular in mind but she didn’t put on a top coat after she was complete. I had to do that when I got home which made me a little upset. Not to mention, she didn’t have the most friendly demeanor.
I got a fill which was advertised at $ 13 and a spa pedicure which was $ 35. My designs were $ 6 which comes to a total of $ 54 however I ended up paying $ 61. I don’t know how they came up with that price because I got a plain color on my nails, no design. I didn’t argue with them. I just paid it and left. All in all it wasn’t horrible but I expected it to be a little more top notch. I probably won’t be back as I am venturing to find the best nail salon in Laurel.

5 star pedicure, 1 star wax. Great pedicure with lots of pretty (OPI and otherwise) shades to select from. They also have OPI for purchase. Only $ 18 for a pedicure, but $ 35 for a mani/​pedi with only clear coat for the mani. On the other hand, terrrrrible waxing. She somehow bruised me. I had to go somewhere else to get it fixed. Also, she charged me $ 60 for the wax. Wtf.

I’ve been coming here for 3 years and up until recently I was pretty satisfied. On my last visit my eyebrows were messed up and today I just got nickel & dimed. I got a deluxe pedi and mani today but before they did my mani they had to remove gel polish from 3 nails. They charged me $ 10 to do it! Then the lady cut my toenails too short as well as she didn’t file my fingernails properly. At the end of the mani my nails looked like I had bit them off! Ultimately I just ended up filing my own nails in the shop. I’m so disappointed in the quality of my services today. And the fact that they are so expensive now… needless to say I think this is my last time patronizing this nail spa.

I visited this salon today and I will definitely be going back. Great customer service, relaxing and enjoyable experience.
