Quality Inn & Suites Lathrop – South Stockton

What a yucky place! It was the noisiest hotel we have ever stayed in and it smelled bad. People upstairs paced back and forth all night long, both nights that we were there. Tried to call the front desk and notify them upon checkout but nobody was there and nobody answered the phone. Will definitely not stay here again

Stay else where! Staff is unhelpful, rude and indifferent. Hotel allows behaviors and illegal activity that will keep you up at night and will have you keeping the kids close.

Unfortunately, I booked this hotel online. The place was in a questionable area was not comfortable when I saw it but didn’t want to waste the $ 100 so I stayed. The to lite needed to be plunged, towels had fallen off the racks, the telephone did not work so had to use my cell phone to call the front desk. Parked my car in front of my room and someone shattered the passenger window and stole a tote bag out of my car. Would NEVER stay there again!!!

Wow, what a dump! From the rowdy, trashy clientele running and screaming through the hallways and toking up in the pool area, to the stink of the guest rooms, this place is a disappointment from start to finish.

Actually a 2.5 Hotel really isn’t that old, room was clean however we had a suite (choice hotel points) the a/​c in the sitting room was blowing warm air and it was 97 outside at 6pm. We closed up the bedroom section and it was very comfortable. After 10 minutes finally found the turn on button for the hot tub which was hidden behind a very large hybicus plant. Hot breakfast was nothing special. With a little TLC this place could be a 5

My family and I book a one night after coming back from a funeral services dint not want to drive back home check process was easy and friendly over all place was clean and organize the down side is area is not so safe be aware about people wondering around all night at parking lot and Poor security Manament and my opinion if you like wile life is the perfect spot but if you a family won’t recommend or will be awake every other noise you hear over all me personally will ever stay at this hotel.

BLUF: clean, dry, serviceable. No major complaints. I’ll most likely be back.

I read the other reviews prior to arrival, and well, let’s say I don’t scare easy and chose to keep the reservation.
Let’s get to the meat of the matter. Aside from other reviews I read… It was all clean. the lobby, room, hallways, pool area, gym, no issues. Sure there were a few minor thing noticed, like a scuffed doorway, holes in the shower wall where the curtain rod was adjusted, stuff like that-​but I saw nothing that made me cringe.
The one suggested improvement is the breakfast eggs… And the very slow internet. Again– minor.
Cudos to the young lady who checked me in. Great job handling the «difficult case» that was ahead of me. Very polite, professional, and friendly!
Sure This hotel is a tad dated. But worth the money, and a great alternative if traveling on a budget.

A devastatingly poor hotel and still somewhat expensive.
Another hotel I’ve been forced to stay at 5 – 10 times on business and while 2 – 3 times my stay was okay, the cleanliness of the rooms has progressively gotten worse of the years.
Most recently the hotel did not adequately dilute their bleach in the wash and I ended up with a full-​body rash from the sheets and towels.
The rooms face the outside, so there is no privacy or protection, and you can hear the all-​night Taco Bell and jack in the box drive thru orders screaming away.
Apparently there was also an altercation with a gun/​shooting at the club next door.
Poor service, bad rooms, and a general lack of pride in the product.

Worst hotel stay ever! Run down. Room smelt like urine. cigarette holes in carpet. 30+ people in pool area with their own BBQs listening to loud rap music! No room at pool for other customers. Same party moved to in front of the room we were staying at and partied until 3am. Called the front desk several times. About the 4^th time we called the guy answering the phones says ’ what do you want me to do?! Your not the only ones complaining and I’ve already gone down there several times and I’ve called the cops!’ The cops never came. Turned on the fan (which was loud) and the tv to cover up all the noise. Next morning beer cans and cigarette butts all over the front area. Went to talk to the manager. No manager on duty. This was such a horrible experience for us! I usually look up reviews before staying somewhere but this was booked through our baseball club so we thought it would be fine. It wasn’t!

Whatever you do don’t come here! If I could put no stars I would .So I would like to start off with my door was really hard to open … Asked for a nonsmoking room and it smelled like the last person smoked in there. Person at the desk had a terrible attitude. Don’t even bother taking your shoes off when you get inside because I you will probably get some sort of disease in your feet it’s disgusting and brown stains everywhere. The curtains are fake and won’t close so if you want privacy your probably not gonna get any. I asked for extra towels the next day and they handed them to me and they were damp … Washed but damp. Not a kid friendly place people were smoking «electric pens» smoking everywhere drinking in the pools excessively. Not that I care but there was suppose to be a fire extinguisher in this glass box but it’s broken and missing. Last is just a personal preference kinda sounds spoiled but an update on the TV cause it’s dinosaur age.

Absolutely uncomfortable beds and pillows!!! Be prepared to seek medical attention after sleeping here for pain.
Aside from the beds, and the lack of any extra towels, the place was clean and breakfast was decent.

Not as advertised. Much of what is advertised did not work and worse. The spa does not work, the sauna and steam room are used for storage. The clerk at the front desk said none of it had worked since he had worked there.
The room was not that clean as there was some trash and dust on the carpet. The beds were in bad shape as well. Then there was the guy standing outside of our room smoking a joint. We ended up not staying and headed on down the road.

We get there and we approach the front desk. We aren’t even greeted. My brother has to say that we are checking it. There are two girls there and one of them looks up at us and says «Ok well we are changing shifts right now so we will be right with you.» Made me feel so welcome. So we went and sat on the couch in the lobby for about 10 minutes and the girl finally asks the name the room is under. She then proceeds to tell us that it is a SMOKING room and that she has no more non smoking rooms to switch us to. My brother and I do not smoke! She said the smoking rooms do smell and all she could give us is some Lysol to help. And because we booked through Hotwire we have to go through them to cancel. We had just driven three hours from our last location and we were tired so we didn’t want to deal with Hotwire on the phone. What sucked even more was we were stuck here for two nights!
The room was HORRIBLE. Musty, strong cigarette smell, cigarette burns everywhere. Shower head sucked, it either shot out water too fast that hurt or it dribbled. The area was sketchy and the guy in the room next to us stood in his doorway and watched us unload our car which made me nervous. The only perk was I was with my brother and there was only 1 bed. The room had a pull out bed couch so I didn’t have to bring in the air mattress.
We ended up going to the Target to get Febreze and a Febreze candle. It helped the get rid of the cigarette smell temporarily but we felt the front desk should have offered more for the inconvenience. We should not have had to spend extra money to go to Target and get Febreze.
Apparently they have free wifi… but it doesn’t work.
There was a free breakfast but we got out of there as soon as possible. One of the worst hotels I’ve ever been to!

Taken with a grain of salt (…or two) and looking at the big picture, this property is A-​OK with me! :)
Yes, it’s dated, the rooms have 70’s-80’s furniture, and there always seems to be dings, cracks, stains, and marks on something in each room. I stay here once or twice a year with my job, so in 5 years I have been here at least 6 times.
OK, now let me tell you the good stuff :)
There are always microwaves, refrigerators, coffee pots, and a decent TV with a decent selection of cable channels. The bed sleeps comfortably, no complaints there, and the best thing is (drum roll please…) there are 3 major fast food joints 20 – 50 feet away! :) (it’s the small things in life ya know…)
Seriously though, the staff has always been really nice to me, the rooms never let me down (I have no issues, and am not too picky about dings, marks, or cracks), and ALL the stuff I want & need on the road are HERE! Food, coffee pot, microwave, free Wi-​Fi, oh and of course, a smoking room! :)
I stay at a LOT of other hotels every year, and can PROMISE you, you get tired of hotels that are a bit more modern, charging for Wi-​Fi, or a microwave, and some went totally none smoking, so to hit this hotel/​motel with all the things I like, need and want, is akin to winning a little on a slot machine! LOL ;)
BONUS! DING DING DING!
I have no problem recommending this establishment to anyone, but just remember, this is California, and on a VERY busy freeway & barely outside Stockton, it’s going to run a little high, but you could go into Stockton, and pay 2 – 3 times as much, right? ;)

One word… Disgusting
You get what you pay for I guess. In our case that included the following:
non-​working AC (keep in mind we went in July)
broken lamps (yes multiple)
musty/​smoke smell
Other families we traveled with experienced:
cockroaches in their room (yes multiple)
and let’s not forget the DEAD RAT in the pool!
there ya go ladies and gents, stay at your own risk.
I suppose if you don’t mind sleeping in a musty hot ass room with little critters then this is the place for you.
