Like many of you checking this review I had a difficult time holding myself accountable to make it to the gym. I received a call one morning from Nick, a manager at In-​Shape Lathrop, Harlan Rd. We discussed using a personal trainer to bring accountability and correct technique into my workouts. I thought about it and went for it. Even though I am writing this only one month into 2016, that decision was one of the best this year. Nick set me up with Kylee, a personal trainer, whom is also a student and competitive fitness athlete. Kylee and I meet twice a week. The first couple sessions were geared toward finding my limits and making a plan to increase them and perfect technique on the way. The support I get from Kylee is exactly what everyone needs to push beyond presumed limits. She’s great with accountability and flexibility with scheduling, which helps when big tests come up for a student like myself. All in all a great staff, well kept equipment, and clean facility are helping me pursue my physical health goals.

I give this place a 3 mainly because of the sevice. I think most of the cleaning should be done when members aren’t there or when there are minimal members. They do it when people are doing cardio. I’m in the medical field that for one bothers me. The little room on the side doesn’t seem to be very ventilated because it smelt like sweaty nasty!!! Pinesol or disinfectant please. The early morning staff are great but in the afternoon or around brunch time I left and no bye or have a great day. Call me needy but your the first people to see when we start our work out and end out work out so be a little thoughtful considerate especially if your the assistant manager, manager or front greeter. I was there one day with 3 huge males working out. and there was barely any room. If you just go in and out to work out its great place but if you want to be there for 3 – 4 hours with big body building people around not to hehe business. However the morning people are great and going at lunch time seems to be not so many people. Evening it’s a little busier. but that’s my opinion and it definitely counts. My advice for them is to meet and greet member ESPECIALLY if you are the manager and when entering and leaving the gym it actually may make that persons day better and want to come back.

Get every detail when joining this gym. I was trying to go for the 7day free trial then joining the $ 10 plan, but their manager at the time, Mark, said I would be ineligible for the $ 10 plan if I did the 7day free trial. Today’s new manager told me there was no such thing as becoming ineligible for the $ 10 plan. Basically I was pressured into joining instead of getting the free trial. Make sure when joining you get every detail and expense of the plans.
But, this gym is very convenient nonetheless and I am happy with my membership. I just wished I was not pressured into it with bad customer service by Mark the old manager who is now the manager of Tracy branch.
Cleanliness is good. I see them clean the gym almost every morning. It does get pretty crowded especially during the afternoon but it is a «Fit» gym which is expected. Front desk is always nice and accommodating. This gym has all the necessities I’ve been looking for.

I have been a member of this gym for many years. I have to say that since Mark has taken over a Manager this gym is running GREAT! Mark and all his staff work so well together as a team and it shows. With Mark as the Manager and Patrick on the floor things sure are running smooth (plus everyone else, sorry I can’t remember everyone’s names, but I do know their smiling and welcoming faces) A lot of smiling faces is what I see, especially mine (and I’m picky and set in my ways)! In-​Shape Fit Lathrop is a perfect fit for me. Love it. Has everything I need. I want to thank Mark and all the staff for everything they do for us everyday. I appreciate.

First of all, I want to say that I absolutely love this gym. I have lost over 100+ pounds and I’m so happy. What really upsets me is seeing the front desk employee, Marrisa, whom I have gotten to know, clean the ellipticals next to me! I know they have housekeepers so why is she doing all the work? I advised the manager, Marc, when I walked out and he said yep that’s company policy while he was just standing at the front on his ipad. I will never leave this gym but I have to say; maybe another housekeeper and a new manager would suit this place well

Went in tonight like I do everyday. I earned a rewards card for recommending a friend to the gym so I wanted to buy a few quest bars after my workout and the young dude behind the counter said I couldn’t buy anything cause he already closed down the register… They weren’t closing till another 10 – 15 minutes. WHAT THE F**K kind of service is that…
Shouldn’t have left 24 hour fitness. The whole 24 hour thing has it’s benefits I guess. And as I left I noticed the guys friend came up to him and what do you know? He got a drink and left. Wtf
Anyway, the gym is super clean and Mark is a really nice guy. (He’s the gym manager I believe)

Ater NEVER wanting to join a gym or have a trainer, my daughter convinced me to try In-​Shape. From the friendly greeting at the front desk to the excellent training, nutritional counsel and positive encouragement by Salina and Patric, in just 3 months I’ve lost both weight and inches, while increasing strength and confidence. I’m loving the gym experience, my only regret is not starting sooner. I would encourage anyone to join In-​Shape Fit Lathrop! :)

I like the atmosphere of the gym and the staff is very friendly. The personal trainers are amazing. I’ve been training with Salina and she has been amazing. I’ve had several personal trainers in the past but I’ve really only seen results with her. My legs are nice and toned, I couldn’t have done it without her help. The price for personal training sessions is reasonable. If u want to see results, I recommend trying it out.

I have been a member of a few gyms, although this is not the biggest gym I’ve been to, it has all the necessary equipment you need to get a good workout! It is rarely too crowded where the machines are all taken up and almost always people are willing to let you work in with them!
The staff is great! I am a member of another gym and I don’t know the staff at all. Here, I almost know everyone! I think the first week i was there I knew most of them. And they are always willing to help you with what you need, any question, advice, encouragement, anything! Mark or Marissa are always at the front to greet you and give you a little push if you need it lol.
Btw, If you want an awesome personal trainer to kick your butt, ask for Patrick! Trust me, you’ll love him afterwards… strangely during also haha. He knows everything and probably more.

This is one of my favorite gyms. The staff is great and the fitness trainers are really good at their jobs. It’s a smaller gym but it has everything you need to get a good workout in.

I went to this gym for the first time yesterday. I have been to other In Shape gyms so I can easily compare it.
This gym is clean and modern. Although it is a bit smaller than other In Shape gyms (compared to the gold and platinum In Shapes), it is still a nice place to come work out. I wouldn’t mind coming back to this gym. It’s clean, staff are smiling (just like every In Shape gym; I’m thinking a good personality is a requirement to work at any In Shape gym, LOL). It’s a good spot to get a quick workout. The equipment is nice, clean, and new. I think more importantly the gym is clean.

I’ve been an In-​Shape member for years. I’ve been to several locations and this is probably one of the more unsatisfying ones.
First off, I walked in to be greeted by absolutely no one. I waited for a couple of minutes and still nobody. So I decide to go to the locker room. Everything in this place is so crammed. Very little room overall. The «weight room» can only fit a few people at one time. Minimal amount of lockers. It seemed as if there was only one of each major piece of equipment. 1 bench, 1 leg press, etc. They had plenty of treadmills of course.
The only reasons I gave 1 star was because Unilocal will not allow me to put a 0 and the equipment was fairly clean.
Overall, I prefer to stick to the Stockton locations, because I will have a better variety of equipment to use.

If you want to go to a gym with a friendly, good, and organized staff, this isn’t the place for you. After moving, putting my account on hold (because there was never a manager available at the time I came in, which was during normal business hours), then canceling my account 6 months later, I knew that I had to write a Unilocal review to share my experience.
I canceled my account a few days before I was going to be charged again. The lady at the front desk told me I would be charged 1 month because they need 30 days notice. Of course, I was fine with that because it was my fault for procrastinating. One month later, I was charged again because their Lathrop staff claimed to have «lost» my cancellation form (which I have proof of in my hands). Why should their customers be charged and put through inconvenience because of their mistakes? I had to call corporate myself to figure out the situation because this In-​Shape is so unorganized!
I have never wanted to write a bad review, but this staff is appalling. I even had to ask the woman I spoke on the phone with to give me a confirmation call that they for sure scanned my paperwork this time. Never got that call. I had to call myself for a follow up.
I will be back to update this to see if I even receive that refund. At this rate, I’m not keeping my hopes up.
All in all, skip this gym. Any good business should have good customer service, too.

I really like this little in Shape «fit» I stop by on my way home from work for a quick workout. The machines are all new, lots of TV’s and the place is very clean. The locker room is small only one shower, but as I said clean, well lit comfortable.

Love this location for the morning or afternoon workout (hardly anyone here and getting on equipment is a breeze!) but evenings get pretty crowded.
The club is small, so getting on equipment and into the stretching area is hard to do after 5. Lots of «gym socialites» hanging out talking rather then working out… Pretty irritating for those who are trying to get a quick workout in. (How hard is it to take a conversation outside? So the rest of us can work out and not work around you!)
There are no group classes offered either. Major bummer for those who live close by. So if classes are what you are looking for check elsewhere!
