First off, I never write reviews. in fact, I signed up for Unilocal just to leave this review. It has been just shy of one year since my visit to this salon. i had recently moved from Washington DC to this area and I have been used to spending very high amounts on salon visits. My first reaction to the area has been shocking. a lot of big hair, 1995 esque outfits, i.e. leopard, big hair and lots of red lipstick. which I don’t mind from time to time but it seems the norm up here. I had the worst hair cut, style, and color at this salon. The stylist had told me she was moving to NYC shortly after my appointment, can’t even remember her name. I realize it is just hair and it grows back, but this salon was way over price for the tacky style, it took over 5 hours as she texted off and on a lot and left me sit in the chair freezing cold. I can now say i have found a wonderful stylist, affordable and after one year of that traumatic visit I can finally laugh about it! lol. awful, awful, awful!!! I strongly do not recommend if you are new to the area and don’t personally know anyone here. I am absolutely sure there are great stylists here, unfortunately I didn’t get one of those. :-(

I’m scared to get my hair cut anywhere else! I’ve seen two junior stylists (Jade and Leanne) and they’re both great. They both consulted with me before they cut my hair to see what I wanted and the outcomes were great. I now live in NYC and I will still make trips up to this salon to get my hair cut!

The salon is spacious and lively, painted in a fresh palette of white walls and citrus accents. I assume it has superior ventilation because, despite multiple hair color stations, there is no chemical odor.
I started getting my hair cut at the Stuyvesant Plaza decades ago, and have never been disappointed. When I turned 50, I began to get my hair colored although I was reluctant to let go of my original unique mix.
Bettina is an artist. She listened and then did an amazing job of covering the grays and coloring my hair so that it looks better than I could have imagined.

Today I had a great hair cut and color done by Kayleigh. She really listened and took the time to show me how to style my hair. I asked for a bold color and she didn’t hesitate to give me exactly what I asked for. I would definitely recommend stopping by!

This salon is beautiful and as soon as you enter there is someone to greet you.
I have been there 3 times and I plan on going back. Schuyler is my stylist,
she is awesome. She listens to what i ask for and always makes my hair look perfect
There is a big enough assortment of products for your hair, makeup and skin.
Schuyler assists me if i want to purchase any makeup or hair products and she
is never pushy. The staff all work great together, helping each other. They are all
confident, which i love, and they all seem to love what their doing which makes
for a wonderful experience everytime i go. If you are looking for a awesome salon
try this one you will not be disappointed and you won’t have to keep looking! I just
booked a facial and plan on doing a review for that as well.
