Description

Specialties

BKK Bistro offers authentic Thai dishes with a western twist to satisfy the tongues of American’s. Thai food is known to be extremely flavorful and on most of the time spicy. Champ has found away to keep the rich flavors of Thai cuisine, by toning down the spice. Champ’s main focus is freshness and quality of his foods. He refuses to use any day old produce, and he does not pre-make anything. Everything is prepared day-by-day, cooked pan by pan, and order-by-order.

BKK Bistro is known not only for the great atmosphere, delicious food, but the cocktails are absolutely unforgettable. Along with the full bar, Champ has created unique cocktails that use the top liquors on the shelf to create a perfect drink. The martinis are nice and smooth, the tastes are balanced perfectly satisfying taste buds.

History

Established in 2014.

BKK Bistro is a new addition to Albany’s area’s many Thai restaurants. But BKK Bistro is original, and fresh. BKK Bistro has a rich history that began in 1979 in New York. The owner Champ Chompupong is a successful man that has been in the restaurant business his entire life. He grew up working as a chef in his brothers’ restaurants and later opened up his own. He’s been working on his own for about 25 years now. Champ moved from New York to Killington, Vermont in 1997 and opened up a restaurant under the simple name of Bangkok Thai Cuisine. Champ received great success with this restaurant, but then decided to expand to a larger and more urban environment.
