Wee Kirk o’the Heather Wedding Chapel

We got married there last weekend and it was wonderful. From Lynn our wedding planner, her bright smile and happy attitude was very welcoming and helpful to the soft spoken and kind minister to the professional and fun photographer, we couldn’t be happier with how things worked out. We highly recommend it to anyone wanting a great wedding experience. I hope they are around for 100 more years, perhaps my kids and grandkids will also be able to enjoy their special day at Wee Kirk!
Update on ⁶⁄₁₃: It is taking a very long time to get our digital photos though. Kinda sad about that, since they are just digital prints that we’ve already paid for, not even on paper — should be pretty easy to send to us, but we are still waiting.

My husband and I married us and renewed our ten year anniversary (1-​11-​2006 and 1-​11-​2016). Wee Kirk did not have a problem with renewing our vows after ten glorious years. The staff and coordinator are absolutely fabulous. The photographer took some amazing photos that I will forever cherish. We love this chapel and we will recommend this chapel to everyone whom is looking to marry or remarry. Big big big thank you to Lynn, Michael and our minister Robert that was able to marry us again after ten years. Wee Kirk truly made my dreams come true! What really made our wedding super was Elvis Kent Ripley, he was entertaining, sung all the best Elvis songs and was so friendly to us and all our guest. Truly an amazing memorable wedding! Thank you again and again!

We got married here. And unfortunately I can´t tell anything positive except about the ceremony. The ceremony was great, but we were unsatisfied with the service after the wedding.
First of all, it took a while to receive the photos of our wedding.
Since we live in Germany, we asked them to take care of our certificate and apostille. For this service we had to pay 165 $ extra and were told that we will receive our documents in 6 – 8 weeks. So in February (8 weeks after the wedding) we asked about the status of our documents and were told that the documents didn´t reach us, because of the wrong address on it. So the second attempt. On April 2^nd we received a tracking number (already 4 month later).
If we try to track with this number, we see a message that a «Pre-​Shipment Info was sent to USPS». No status change until today (End of May). The documents have never arrived. Since only the sender can investigate what has happened to the mail, we asked Wee Kirk to check it out, but didn´t receive any update on this. We wrote a complaint mail again asking for further action or to return us the money for service we have not received. The answer we received was the accusation of lies and extorting money from the company.
All in all, we do not recommend the document service this company offers.

Such a wonderful experience! Everyone working at the Wee Kirk o the Heather was so warm and welcoming. There was plenty of communication before our wedding. Lynn asked all the right questions, and made sure that our special day was that much more special.
These people perform so many weddings, every day, and still we felt like ours was the only one that mattered.

We had an Elvis «Pink Cadillac» wedding at the Wee Kirk a few weeks ago. It was THE BEST. WEDDING. EVER! We have been together for 10 years, and thought it was coming on time to get hitched. When we realized we would be in Vegas for a college reunion anyway, and wanted something a little different to do on Saturday, it just seemed like a good idea! IT WAS! We only had two weeks or so to plan, so the stressful part happened before we even got there. We had little idea what to expect, but decided to just roll with it. We weren’t disappointed — our Elvis was great, and we really enjoyed riding in the pink Cadillac! Our guests still gush that it was their favorite wedding they have ever been to. The Wee Kirk people made it easy, and fun. The photos came out great, and captured the spirit of the day. Of course they wallop you for the pictures, and not all of them capture the perfect angle, etc., but you know what? It was one less thing for us to worry about, and they were definitely better than our friends’ phone pics would have been! The only downside to the Wee Kirk? Be prepared — it is definitely «WEE». Teensy. Itty bitty. But that worked out, because we only invited folks we really wanted there, and could genuinely apologize to others that there was no space. Overall, it was a fun and easy start to many happy years to come!

Just got married Tuesday on St. Patrick’s day. Went in Monday they were able to get us in for Tuesday. Beautiful ceremony the planner was wonderful we did pay for a DVDs after since our first wedding 3 years ago we didn’t have one. It would have 5 if there was more parking for guests but there is always the city garage a block down since celebrating at the Fremont Experience topped off our special day

I would have to agree with a lot of the comments on Unilocal it does not state anywhere that we have to give a $ 50 tip to the minister I I don’t think that’s fair it says the package includes everything and to be honest with you their package deals are a joke because it doesn’t include any photos any disc any kind a taping of the ceremony unless you pay more but it doesn’t state that on the website???

Ignore the negative reviews of Wee Kirk. My wife and I decided last minute to schedule a vow renewal ceremony and wanted to have fun with an Elvis wedding. We were married more than 10 years ago at another Vegas chapel so we have something to compare with this experience.
The staff is great! They were quick to return phone calls, compliant with virtually all of our requests, and went out of their way to make it a great experience. The venue is similar to many of the others, except it is quite small, but clean and attractive. The photographer was also very professional and took some great shots. Elvis was a bit on the thin side for 70’s jumpsuit E, but he could sing, and made sure we had a great experience.
As with most of these small wedding chapels in Vegas, they are in business to make a profit, so expect a few extra costs which are not out of line with other venues. The staff is very open and honest about the extras, so just ask before hand so there aren’t any surprises. I think some of the negative reviews complaining about the extra costs, don’t really understand that if it’s not included in the package, you are going to have to pay for it. All of the information is right there on the website.
If you want an intimate, trouble free, and fun experience getting married in Vegas, I would recommend Wee Kirk!

We renewed our vows at Wee Kirk and had an absolute blast! We stopped by the chapel (it is so cute) as we were in the area. They just happened to have a time for us later that same day. We had the «Burning Love» package with 60’s Elvis singing «Can’t Help Falling in Love», «Love Me Tender» and «Viva Las Vegas». While the ceremony was silly and fun, it was also quite touching. «Elvis» was fantastic! The photographer was terrific. All in all, we would highly recommend Wee Kirk!

I would give this place no stars if I could but I can’t. We have been calling all morning finding places to get married at. The man who answers the phone is extremely rude. First let’s tell you they charge 500 to get married at the Las Vegas sign. Yeah 500! First off there are at least 6 other places in town that you can get that for 100. Go some where else! Do not do business with this company. When we told him that was a little steep he commented back that there is also a Mc Donald’s and inn n out in town that we could go get married at. Extremely rude and unprofessional company. By the looks of other reviews they seem to have a wide variety of complaints. We are actually having our big wedding in Tahoe at Zephyr’s cove next year but wanted a typical Vegas sign wedding. This company should look into finding someone else to represent them. To be told to get married at Mc Donald’s or a fast food restaurant is out of line and uncalled for.

We were married in January 214 at Wee Kirk. I was nervous planning a place sight unseen, but we were happy with our choice, We dealt with Lynn, She was personable and helpful in every aspect. I felt extremely comfortable and our wedding went off without a glitch. It was so easy, pick your package, get your license and your done. We had absolutely no complaints! I would highly recommend week kirk to anyone.

All I have to say is I am extremely disappointed and I do not recommend this chapel to ANYONE.
My fiancé and I decided that we wanted to get married here because my grandparents married at this same chapel in 1942. It was supposed to be something very special for us. But the male owner completely ruined it.
Today someone calls my fiancé and tells him that they don’t have our times available that they have earlier times. Which we said was okay. Then they start telling us that for the 7 minute service we have to tip the minister $ 50. So I go again and look through every page on their website and there is nothing said that the minister tip is $ 50. This is exactly what it says:
«*Packages do not include tax/​handling, minister’s donation, photographer’s gratuity, & Professional Chauffeur’s Service Fee /​limo driver’s gratuity (if applicable)»
The way it is worded is you decide how much you would like to tip the minister based on your services. It does not say, «There is a $ 50 minister fee»
So I called the chapel and I begin explaining what was said to my fiancé and that nothing is listed on the website saying it is a mandatory $ 50 tip. Then the male owner begins to yell at me telling me that we did this last minute, that we don’t know what we are doing, that he thinks this isn’t the chapel for us to get married at, that he doesn’t want us to get married there.
I was totally blown away and I told him that I was speaking to him nicely and I was just trying to understand why they don’t have this posted on their website. He just keeps going off on me. So I told him we wanted our $ 100 deposit back and he flipped out even more saying he needed to call the other owner and see if they could give me my money back and he wouldn’t return my call until tomorrow. I told him that was not acceptable because we are leaving Friday night to travel to Las Vegas and we already have everything booked.
He then starts screaming at me, to the point I have to pull the phone away from my ear, telling me that he doesn’t want us to get married there (again) and that he is just going to refund my money. Then hangs up on me.
So I call my fiancé back and tell him what happened and he calls them to see what they were doing yelling at me. A female answered this time and my fiancé asked numerous times to speak to the male owner and he refused to get on the phone. The female then hung up on my fiancé TWICE and was refusing to talk to him. Finally she told him that there is a $ 10 fee to return our money. They are just trying to get more and more money!
I am completely appalled that a business would treat paying custumers like this. Also, the fact that he was furious over we booked it «last minute». Las Vegas is the last minute marriage capital of the world! I highly recommend that people do NOT get married at this chapel and do not invest any money into them. They will just try to steal more and more money from you and if you question them in any way they will make sure to ruin your wedding.

My Husband and I were married at the Wee Kirk O’ the Heather 40 Years after my parents were married there and we couldn’t be happier with the Level of Customer service that was provided. Although our wedding was small and we had few guests, they were so accommodating and helped us make our ceremony unique and important. They were friendly and professional and most of all sincere. We are very grateful, everything went off without a hitch and we recommend this chapel to anyone looking to tie the knot! Not to mention the chapel is absolutely adorable!

I attended a wedding here for my girlfriend. Even though I work downtown and pass wedding chapels all the time, I had never been in one before. It was just the couple and my boyfriend and I as witnesses. It was definitely a no frills wedding, which is what she chose. The staff was very nice and accommodating when it was discovered they had left the paperwork they needed back at the hotel. They were still able to work us in, no problems. I can’t speak for how all chapels in Vegas do business but I would almost compare it to a funeral home experience as far as add ons like pictures, flowers, limo, video, etc. So if you are on a budget, have limited time to shop around, etc., much like a funeral home they know you are pretty much stuck with whatever services they are offering and they add up quickly. I mean they charge you to carry your own flowers!

We got married here in September, 2010, they were great. They were the only place that worked with us to do something different — they had an option to do a limo service to the «welcome to las vegas» sign and do the ceremony outside under the sign. They were really nice and really helpful.
I only reduced it by a star because our photos weren’t great. On the other hand, I’ve had friends pay a ton of money and not get anything better, so I wouldn’t say this is an issue.

Some friends from Scotland got engaged while out here on vacation, so decided to get married as well. Attempting to stick with their tradition as much as possible, plus the bonus of being the wedding chapel they used in the movie The Hangover; they chose the Wee Kirk Chapel.
The chapel is one of the first wedding chapels that opened in Las Vegas. The chapel is small and traditional. Definitely a «no frills» wedding chapel, but if you’re in love who cares where you are!
The ceremony was short but sweet, the vows were beautiful… of course they made me cry.
The staff we encountered were friendly. Our friends were very happy with everything and that’s all that matters.
One things I didn’t like was the fact that you are not allowed to take pictures inside the chapel (I know they just want you to pay for their pictures/​video). I understand no flash photography or moving around making noise during the ceremony, but you should be able to take a picture or two.
I would advise bringing your own flowers, it was $ 55 for a fresh bouquet of about 6 roses wrapped with a ribbon.

We got married here on 10−10−10. Yeah, I’m kinda corny about dates, okay? It was an enjoyable experience overall. It was a 2^nd marriage for both of us and we wanted to have a fun experience and have someone else handle most of the planning. That’s just what we got with Wee Kirk o’the Heather Wedding Chapel.
Everything was handled smoothly for our big day, including communications with the staff beforehand. They have a smooth operation and know how to get you in and out and on your way fairly quickly. Since it was just the two of us, that’s just what we were looking for.
The only thing that was a little stressful was that the limo that we got as part of our package was late picking us up at the hotel. Then we got stuck in traffic getting to the chapel. We were a bit worried since we knew it was a busy day and we didn’t want to be rushed through our ceremony when we did get there. No worries though, it all worked out fine in the end. We did get there late, but didn’t feel rushed.
We did see some other people who were getting married right before and after us, but it didn’t really phase us. We felt we got enough time in the chapel and with pictures.
I would recommend this chapel. The price was right and the experience was positive. You’re in Vegas, it’s meant to be fun! Enjoy :-)

I couldn’t have been happier with the experience my husband and I got at Wee Kirk a few weeks ago. I had no time to plan a wedding and Lynn took care of everything. The website is very easy to navigate and you can pick exactly the package you want and do everything online. I never had to call as I got all my questions answered via email within a day! So easy!
I don’t feel like anything was hidden as far as fees go like some of the other reviewers say. It was pretty straight forward as far as I’m concerned. Of course, you always need to read the fine print to see what will be extra and whatnot.
If you’re just looking for a simple wedding that you don’t have to plan, then Wee Kirk is awesome. It was an adorable little chapel and not cheesy at all.
We had a traditional civil ceremony and the minister was great. It seemed personal even though I’m sure he marries hundreds of people each year. The photographer was also very good. He gave us the option to take special photos if there was anything we wanted, which I thought was nice.
The photos are an AMAZING deal if you ask me. You get so many candid photos (photos taken during the ceremony) depending on the package you choose and then you can purchase others at the end. They sell you the images on a picture CD with FULL photographer release so you own the images and can make as many copies as you want. This was the only chapel I saw that did this. We ended up ordering 21 extra pictures for around 300 dollars. Considering most wedding photographers will charge you at least a thousand bucks just to come to your wedding, I thought we got an amazing deal.

I got married on Oct 8, 2011. This was the best experience. I could not asked for more. It was a proper mix of reverance and humor. The minister was personal and uplifting, and the Elvis funny without being outlandish.
I read the negative reviews after booking my wedding. I chose this place based on a web recommendation so I was going in with mix expectations. I understand now why the previous reviewers gave Wee Kirk of the Heather such low remarks but do believe they deserve the five stars.
I do not like hidden fees. And after you look online for a package and select your choices – only then they tell you about a «mandatory tip» 50 for the minister, 50 for the Elvis, anf 20 for the photographer. This can be a very big turn off and can stale you to any organization when you feel nickled and dime. But these three people made my ceremony memorable and in the end I wished I brought more «tip.» I really dislike «mandatory tipping» and calling it so is what I believe soured people. But what they offer is the best of everything.

I really don’t know what people expect when they go to a quickie wedding chapel in Vegas. The chapels are there to provide a service and make money. Wee Kirk is no different, except that they are.
My husband and I contacted many, many chapels and the Wee Kirk chapel had the best prices. The photos you get with your package come with the photo rights so you can reprint them as you need. Try finding that at any other chapels for the reasonable price Wee Kirk offers!
We wanted to bring in our own flowers, rather than use the 6 rose bouquet that was included. There was going to be a charge of $ 15 to bring in the flowers, but they also let us know that they had a florist on-​site. For $ 85, they custom built a bouquet that I really didn’t imagine they could do, as well as a matching boutonnière for my husband for $ 25. I wanted a mixture of white roses, Scottish thistle and some purple flowers and they gave me a near exact replica of the bouquet picture I sent to them. The reviewer who complained about the flowers, clearly has no idea what an actual, gorgeous bridal bouquet costs. We were extremely pleased with our flowers, so much so I have gone to great lengths to preserve them. I was a little peeved at first about the charge to bring in flowers, but since they have a florist, it’s part of how they make their money. That should be expected.
The minister did an amazing ceremony in under 10 minutes. None of our guests felt like it was «cheap» or «quickie» and we were so happy that he was able to work in some personal wording that made the ceremony uniquely ours. We had several people that flew from pretty far away to join us and we were really worried that the quality just wouldn’t be there for people spending so much money to join us. We were very happily wrong.
The photographer was a true professional. He took lots of great pictures and probably would have taken more except I was hot and itchy in my dress, not to mention grumpy and 7 ½ months pregnant and just ready to be done. Our package came with 12 ceremony photos. We found many that we liked and at $ 25 each to buy, we were a little distraught at the thought of how much we were going to end up spending. They offered us an amazing deal for all of the about 140 pictures, $ 400 including copyright release. Sure, that sounds like a lot, but we have a friend back home that charges $ 700 for wedding photography and he’s on the low end. So, complaining about the cost of photographs is also a little silly, especially since we can now print as many of them as we want, anywhere we want.
ANY chapel you go to will require minimum gratuities for a minister and photographer and anyone else that provides a service. In our situation, we felt they were worth every penny. We went over the minimum because we were so happy with what we received.
Wedding chapels in Vegas are very much marriage factories. In and out, quick turnover. Wee Kirk, I’m sure, is run to be very much the same. We expected nothing, but got everything and never once did we feel rushed or hurried. We knew other weddings were coming shortly after ours, but we still felt like we were their only wedding that day. That is due to everyone’s professionalism, especially Lynn’s.
