Karissa was great! I am very picky about my hair and she was very patient with my craziness. I would definitely recommend this salon if you need to get your hair done while you’re on the strip.

Olivia is an absolute artist. I have had multiple strangers compliment me on my haircut since I started seeing her — including one woman who had me roll down my window at a stoplight to tell me my hair looked great. She’s attentive and will listen to what you want, while also making suggestions. Plus, she’s just a really sweet person and great to talk to. I recommend her to all of my friends, who end up liking her as much as I do!

Catching up on a review I should have written before from about 6 months or so ago.
Had an awful customer service experience here.
Was only 5 minutes late (literally) turned away upon showing up for my appointment because I was told that my stylist wouldn’t have time to do what I wanted with my hair because she had booked someone else in between my appointment. They asked me if I could come back the next day…
Absolutely not considering I was visiting town, had other plans, and was wanting my hair done for a specific event that particular day.
I ended up finding a wonderful lady (Hair by Alana Castillo) to do my hair while I was in town and it all worked out for the best!

I’ve been going to Amy now for about a year… No matter what… Any picture I give her for what I want to do next with my hair. She exceeds my expectations. She makes you feel comfortable and really knows her Sombre’s. If you have dark horse and you are wanting to go light. PICK AMY! Not only will she do it well, but she will make you feel truly beautiful. Love you girl!

You know they say to never get a haircut out of town while traveling, but I stopped in while at a conference at Mandalay Bay and couldn’t be happier!!! The scalp massage then neck and shoulders was worth the trip in! The stylist took lots of time with the cut and it sure didn’t feel like a normal Walk/​in salon. My only regret is that I can’t come back on a regular basis.

Olivia gave me a great partial color and cut! I wish I was local. The price was less than I pay in St Pete, FL which was surprising. The service was awesome and my hair looked fab! Olivia really took the time to understand what I wanted. She consulted with another stylist on the color /​toner as well and I appreciated that. My layers are beautiful. In addition when she shampoo’ed my hair I got a massage on my scalp, neck, shoulders. .. ahhhhhh! I will be back on future Vegas trips.

Well I will agree with everyone on here, this place is amazing! I just moved to Vegas and got recommended here by a Vegas local, so you know it has to be good! My hair was a mess, bleach blonde, extensions, straggly, broken off, you name it. I told Cody to just «fix it» lol. And wow, he is awesome! My hair looks fabulous! Best it’s looked in a long time. My natural color is brown, so he did a color correction and however he cut my hair to fix what was wrong, I have no idea, but it’s amazing. I highly recommend Cody, really cool guy too, I had great conversation with him, so that’s always a bonus :)

LEXY gave me an amazing haircut! Will be back just because of her.

RACHEL IS THE MASTER OF HAIR!!! I was in town for a short trip and really wanted to have my hair lightened up. Unfortunately a few months prior to my appointment I had used henna on myself and I wasn’t aware that its extremely difficult to highlight hair after henna has been used. But Rachel was not deterred. She offered to do a test strip to see how the hair would react reminding me that it would take around 45 minutes and then if it worked to actually highlight my whole head would take about 2 hours with processing and applying. I said go for it! She was honest about prices and time and risk and overall was just an awesome hair artist. I felt completely catered to as a walk in which I feel rarely happens. So completely pleased. Oh I didn’t even mention how awesome I looked after!

I won’t be back here again. I’ve been coming here for 2years to maintain the blonde hair color. I went in on April 10^th and my scalp was burned in 6 different areas. When i called and spoke with the assistant manager he asked what i wanted in return, shit, i don’t know, this has never happened to me before.

Tom O’Connor is top notch hairstylist. I was brought in by a friend of mine to get a great cut! Try him out you won’t be disappointed.

Chantelle is fantastic! I was SO happy with how she styled my hair, the customer service was great and I loved the products she recommended for me!
First, I was in town attending a convention held at the Mandalay Bay, and I didn’t plan ahead to book a hair appointment, so there was a chance I wouldn’t even get an appointment last minute. Worried, I called WAY before they opened and left a voice mail. I got a call back an hour BEFORE they opened that morning! I was pleasantly shocked as she told me they were in early for a staff meeting, heard my message and called me first thing to help accommodate my needs. Ok… WOW. That’s great service from the start.
I needed a blow out/​styling and they told me it was $ 63 and an additional $ 25 for curls. Don’t forget that there’s a tip on top of that people… this was going to be expensive. My thoughts immediately went to just washing my own hair (my husband still doesn’t understand the idea of a blow out) and styling it myself. But it lasts longer when it’s done by a professional, and I had a busy trip, so I wanted it done by a pro. My initial response to the pricing: WTF? But a polite WTF nonetheless. I knew I was in for $ 63, but the additional money for curls seemed a little nuts. Anyway, she was very gracious while explaining that it is Vegas, and everything is more expensive than not-​in-​Vegas. When I told her I pay $ 45 plus tip at home in Dallas, she added that «the girls do a great job giving curls with the brush so you may not need the extra curls» and I appreciated her additional information. SIDE NOTE/​FLASH FORWARD: the curl brush blow dry was great, but I needed more curls in the end.
After my initial sticker shock, I realized she was right, it is Vegas, and they could get me in immediately so I booked my appointment for that morning right after they opened.
They set me up with Chantelle, and I liked her immediately because she has a great vibrant energy. I was getting a blow out to «last» me for a few days, and I had a very specific idea of what I wanted done. She took the time to listen to what I wanted, discuss it, and then she washed my hair (she washed it herself… I hate getting handed off) and started to do the blow out. More discussion, then she started with the curls. When she finished, I looked at front, back, sides and decided I needed «a little more here, lift there, teasing here» and Chantelle smiled and made the changes. We talked and chatted so much and that just added to my pleasant experience.
I had forgotten to pack hairspray, and since I was making this «last» for a couple of days (you blondes out there know how it is… less washing is better for your hair) I needed some dry shampoo. Chantelle grabbed a travel size in each and I was all ready for my show! I loved my whole experience: Chantelle and her talents, the great customer service when booking an appointment, the products and OF COURSE the end result! They told me that even though they are located in the hotel, they have a large client base of locals who come in regularly and I believe that because it was 5 stars on everything.
Can’t go wrong going here if you are at that end of the strip and need your hair done. And — BONUS — with a Unilocal review you get a discount on products!

Big Tom is great. He is very honest and won’t tell you something can be done to your hair that can’t. He promotes women keeping their length too. :) Great guy! Plus when he washes your hair he gives you an amazing scalp massage!

Mattie is the bessstttt!!! I went in with a weird blonde hair job that I immediately regretted getting done by someone else, and Mattie basically saved my hair life. I look normal and amazing again! Only go see her! She makes the experience totally worth your time and money!

I love this salon! It’s super professional and everything is beautiful and new ;) I always ask for Christina because she does a great job and is such a personable hair stylist!

Cody has cut my daughter’s hair twice. He does a great job and he’s really good with kids. Paige is an excellent colorist; she did ombré on my short hair, not an easy task. Maddie understands the challenges of working with curly hair. We’ll definitely be back!

I’m a man. I used to be a regular at sports clips. As long as my neck isn’t hairy and my ears are still there, I am easy to please when it comes to a haircut. Then I became a client of Mattie’s and learned what a hairstyle is, for the first time in my life. I no longer have a buzz cut, I have an actual style.
I get compliments on my hair all the time. I finally know why my girlfriend makes such a big deal about having a styled ‘do. Mattie does an awesome job. She’s friendly, professional and easy to talk to. Don’t let her killer style scare you. I’m a professional and she always makes me look sharp. The staff is really friendly too. Emily at the front desk always remembers my name and goes out of her way to say hi. As a local, I never thought I would be a regular at a hair salon on the strip. Never say never. Where else can you get an awesome hairstyle, walk next door for a shave and across the hall for a beer at Ri Ra?! 5 stars!

Update 2 days after initial haircut:
Mattie introduced me to a couple of products to help strengthen and thicken my fine, heat-​damaged hair which included Paul Mitchell’s Super Strong Liquid Treatment and the Tea Tree Lemon Sage Thickening Spray.
I’ve always been weary to use products because my hair tends to be super sensitive to them and gets easily weighed down and oily as a result. But when she put these products on my hair they did no such thing. My hair was soft, silky, and not at all oily looking. So I bought them.
2 days after using them, I think the need to use my flat iron after blow drying has been eliminated! 2 days in a row my hair has come out smooth and silky rather than frizzy, in need of the flat iron. It’s amazing!!! I also bought some thermal spray upon her suggestion to help protect my hair from the flat iron but it looks like I won’t have to use it. Amazing what a difference the RIGHT products can make!
Thank you again Mattie! You very well may have just secured yourself another out of town regular customer! :-)
