UMC Quick Care

Going to have to go with other reviews I’ve seen here. They need to change the name of this place to UMC Long Wait Rushed Care.
My wife and I waited 4 hours. Watched someone at the front desk joke about how someone was gonna be here a long time because they were at the end of the list. A real lack of empathy and compassion here. Finally got in and the Doctor Liu seemed like he was on some kind of gameshow where he needed to get 50 diagnosis’ in a minute. I doubt he even looked at what the nurse wrote up because he completely skipped over note about a possible hang nail we wanted looked at as well. Find any alternative if possible.

Decent nurses and clerks, Incompetent, impatient physicians. Do not waste time here.
It has been over a week and a few previous hospitol visits for what I thought was a foot fracture. I’ve had fevers, extreme joint and muscle pain in my back, neck, hips, fingers, and particularly, my foot. I can barely move.
I got in very quickly to see the nurse, hardly any wait. The tall male nurse was extremely comforting and patient with me, he said he could tell I was in a lot of pain. Then it took an hour for the doctor to see me. He was a short old Asian man who barely spoke english.
He never bothered to read the nurse report but asked me what was wrong. I began to mention the foot pain, but couldnt finish, he intrrupted and immediately diagnosed me with gout. I asked, «does that explain the fever too?». To which he replied «oh, you have a fever?» I tried explaining all of my symptoms but he continued interrupting me.
I was finally able to get a word in and mention the pain peeing and sore throat. He examined my throat finally then he reluctantly gave me a urine test, ignoring my request for a blood test.
Had I not been adamant I would have left not knowing I also had strep throat, a bladder/​kidney infection, AND the supposed gout.
What a horrible doctor. I also overheard some of the staff bantering about the most random things, as well as complaining about us visitors who have no insurance… all the while as I waited.

Well where do I start… Mm mm. The staff here are pretty good. Wait time for treatment was reasonable. Definitely better than an ER. However as I write this review I have now had to come back a second time to get a prescription problem corrected. You would think that medical personnel getting paid high wages (i.e. Doctors) would get things correct. But obviously not or I wouldn’t be here twice for the same issue. Wow!!! Find a regular Doc, to prevent coming here.
Update-​Well I had to take away a Star… The prescription was wrong again (3^rd time) When I took it to get filled I was told it still wasn’t correct again. Either intentional incompetence or just really bad at their job. Find others for medical treatment. Only go here if no other options are available. ER would have been better I think.

If I could I would give this place no stars I would, but I’ll attribute the one star to the front desk receptionists who were pleasant and easy to deal with.
If you are looking to get medical attention please do not attend this urgent care. I came in for a foot infection and Dr. Zheng Liu saw me for literally 30 seconds and provided me with an ointment. No only was he rude, but he does not speak a lick of english. I emphasized to him that I think my foot is infected which is why it gushing with fluid, he refused to give me anything but an ointment. A week later my foot has worsened. Dr. Zheng should not be allowed to practice, if anything speaking English should be a requirement to provide medical service to patience. His quality of care is completely unsatisfactory and should be reported to the board.
If you have no choice but to come here please try and see any other doctor but Dr. Zheng. This place should shut down until it’s gets real doctors.

The entire staff was so nice and helpful. We were in and out within an hour. Very professional and friendly dr’s and nurses.

Here on a Saturday and the entire process took an hour! Probably would’ve been faster but had to wait on lab results. Entire staff is friendly. Glad I came.

I came here on a Monday night with a tonsil infection, and was amazed at how friendly and helpful the staff was. Literally everyone from the person who checked me in, to the nurse who triaged me, to the doctor were wonderful. This was particularly surprising in light of the fact that while I was waiting to be seen, three or four angry, impatient people stormed out after shouting at the staff about the wait time. If you can’t stand to wait– don’t go to urgent care! The deal is that you get care without an appointment BECAUSE you’re willing to wait an hour or so for it. Wait time is no reflection of the quality of the care center. This place even called in a second doctor at 9pm because they didn’t want the patients to wait too long.
Anyway, point being– the staff here are fantastic and I would highly recommend this place if you’re not one of those jerks who refuses to wait to be seen.

This clinic is useless! Not only did I waste my money and time but the triage «nurse» Richard was rude and sarcastic! And the Dr. I saw, Dr. Lim was useless and prescribed me an over the counter medication I had already tried!?! Why bother going? Will never come back to this place!

This place is neither quick or care giving. You will wait forever, they refuse to give you an estimated wait time and when you finally see the ‘doctor’, he doesn’t bother examining you. What a waste of a medical license. Even if you are desperate, don’t go. Save yourself the time and aggravation… nothing good can come out of this place. They have lost all sense of humanity. It’s just a mill.

One of the worst place to go to if you’re sick, better go anywhere else rather than this place.
I want today with my wife to check a pain that she have on her knees and we wait like 3 ½ hours just for the doctor to tell her that you can do anything and she need to take a pain relief medicine!
Is that something they could tell us at the beginning and not spending our time and money for us ?
The doctor was very rude and she just want to get it done with us, she act like my wife is pretending or she just inventing that you have been on her knee.

I definitely had a great experience here. The wait was not very long, all the staff were polite and friendly, and the office was clean. I would definitely recommend this quick care location over some of the others I have been to!

I’m giving this a 4 for the facilty and front office staff and the two doctors I saw prior to this visit. Having been here a total of three times I have never experienced much of a wait. All three visits I’ve been in and out in less than 60 to 75 minutes. On this last visit I was experiencing severe back pain and because I’m paranoid and couldn’t pinpoint an injury, I assumed my kidneys were in trouble. Thank you, Google. Of course just turned out to be muscle strain. The doctor for this visit would get zero stars. One of the prescriptions she gave me was so new that no Smith’s or Albertson’s had it. When she was called from the pharmacy for an alternative she said no, and she wanted me to drive to CVS or Walgreens looking for it. She just saw me barely walking and expected me to drive all over town. Unacceptable. After I got on the phone with her and told her what I thought she gave an alternate prescription bur I shouldn’t have had to do that.

Worst doctor i have ever seen. Doc. Subramanyam. Bearly examined me, then tells me i cant write pain meds. Then forgets to write script for my diabietes med, had to go back 2 days later to get that. i could hardly understand a word he said. Ill never go back.

I went to this clinic early Sunday morning. I was one of the first people there. The front desk was prompt and extremely polite (if I was grading just them I’d give them 5 stars!!) I was promptly taken back by a nurse and put in a room. About 30 – 40 minutes later the doctor walked in, he was rude, uninterested, kept interrupting me and telling me what symptoms I should have if I really had what I claimed to come in for. He left and said he’d be back in a moment. While I was waiting for the doctor to come back in I heard every conversation the staff was having, about football, not wanting to be working, and a fight between a nurse and a doctor. A good while later the nurse came in with a prescription. The doctor never came in to tell me the results of my test, a diagnosis, what to do if symptoms persist, NADA! I never saw the doctor again! Other than my pleasant experience with the front desk this was a terrible experience, the front staff could teach the nurses and doctors a thing or two about patient care.

Was on vacation and needed to get an infection looked at — wouldn’t have been able to see my Dr back home for several weeks. Front office and Medical staff all friendly and seem both competent and concerned. Just prepare yourself for waits of half hour at least for each step of the process, and there are multiple steps.
Always better to see your own Doc but this is a good option when you can’t.

I’ve been here several times & I am always prepared to wait a minimum of 1 hour to be seen, its a UMC walk-​in facility, what do you expect? You didn’t make an appointment to be seen and they take patients in order of priority due to their age/​severity of illness.
The front desk staff & nurses are always very friendly/​welcoming. I do admit the nurses to tend to chat a lot in the back, but overall they get the job done. All the prescriptions & diagnosis from the doctors are spot on for me. From strep throat, tonsilitous, to allergies; I always go to this UMC and I have not have any problems.

Hell to the No!
Go the regular hospital or find somewhere else.
The staff is incompetent and rude. I was misdiagnosed and had to visit a hospital anyway.

Normally I am hardly ever sick. Since I’ve begun working in the public and being around 200 or more people daily that seems to have drastically changed.
I am no MD, but I know enough and I know what I can take/​need for my symptoms. When you go in for Tonsillitis and the doctors want to give you OTC Zyrtec (which they will swear up and down is covered by your insurance, ITS NOT!!) you know something is just not right. This happened to me. I hate the fact that I have to get a little abrasive with the doctors here to get them to understand that not everyone in Vegas has allergies. Furthermore my tonsils are clearly swollen and there is a white coating on them, PLUS a fever and I have the chills… THAT IS NOT ALLERGIES!
The doctor finally rxd me some Amox and a throat coat, but me having to play good cop bad cop with someone I’m paying is just BS. Really the only reason I go here is because it’s close to my apartment somewhat, and they’re opened on the weekends at 8am. My son and I both needed to be seen and we got there at 745am, Signed in at 803am (they opened late) and weren’t seen until 9am! We were 3^rd on the list! RIDICULOUS! Prior to this visit I went in for an upper respiratory infection which again they attributed to allergies… and again tried to «prescribe» Zyrtec to me.
Meh, no yay for you!

THE DOCTOR MADE ME SICK
I left the office feeling far worse than when I arrived thanks to the «fatherly» doctor. For some unimaginable reason she took an instant dislike to me. She apparently is on a crusade against shirkers and slackers who abuse their sick leave. I think she decided the purpose of my visit was to dupe her into a scam to gain an undeserved holiday.
I told her my sinus condition had worsened even though I had taken a few days off work. «It didn’t get worse,» she told me. «You should have kept working. It’s good for you.» She told me she herself had been battling a sinus condition for 4 – 6 weeks and kept working throughout the ordeal.
She implied I should follow her example and drag myself to work no matter how miserable I felt. On my medical excuse form she indicated the next day as my return to work. I asked her to give me another day in case I felt lousy. With a fiendish gleam in her eye, she refused. When I told her about the violent coughing fits, my difficulty swallowing, she only smirked.
I hope this sounds strange to fellow Unilocalers. I hate to think I’m the crazy one here. I don’t just question this doctor’s medical judgement, I question her sanity. If you know basic Spanish, you’ll see that I’ve given you her name. Beware.
Otherwise I had only minor complaints about the facility. I arrived early, so my ordeal lasted about 90 minutes. The unbearably loud dot matrix printer from the 1980s underscores your misery. I felt sorry for the workers. Thankfully the TV was only showing a silent, health-​related slide show. When you’re sick, a blaring TV is the last thing you need.
If you can avoid the Father, this office should meet any reasonable expectations for a facility of its type.
Vegas residents shouldn’t be surprised if they get treatment from a medical professional who seems deranged, possibly on the verge of a psychotic episode. Vegas can only hope to attract the dregs of the medical profession. A doctor with any talent could locate their practice in Seattle, San Francisco, San Diego, Telluride, Park City, Jackson Hole or Maui. Not to bash Vegas, but it probably isn’t close to the top of the list for someone who has their pick of places to live.
