We wrote the business plan for ThreadLab in 2008 with a goal to create a shopping experience designed for regular guys that needed new clothing without any hassle. We designed an online experience that was painless, fast, easy and effective. ThreadLab has been bootstrapped from the early days when we operated it out of a guest bedroom in Brighton, MA. We now serve thousands of customers across the US and work with over fifty clothing brands.

The idea behind ThreadLab was to create a low touch solution for guys who didn’t know how to shop, didn’t want to spend time on it, and didn’t want to spend a lot of money on a personal shopper. With a fully automated, data-driven system, we could keep the pricing really low and crowdsource the sizing, fit, and style feedback to make our system work more effectively than traditional retail or e-commerce. Our goal is to get you better fitting clothing at accessible price points in a more effective process than if you shopped for yourself online or in-store.
