The Rat Pack is Back

My friend Arthur is visiting me in Las Vegas and he wanted to see a show here. Since he is staying at the Tuscany, we decided to go see The Rat Pack Is Back show which is playing there. We both enjoyed it very much. Tickets were about $ 50 each with a free upgrade to VIP
seats​.My comments are going to sound very much like a lot of the things that other people
said in their reviews but I guess since we all pretty much saw the same show, we have similar
reactions.Frank Sinatra didn’t look like the original at all but his voice was credible and it didn’t
require much suspension of disbelief to think you were listening to the real thing. Dean Martin looked a great deal like his predecessor. Sammy Davis was adequate. The showroom was almost full. In my opinion, both the performers and the audience seemed to be having a good time. The orchestra had a really good sound to them. I enjoyed the humor in the act. A lot of it was corny but I happen to be very partial to that style of comedy. I liked the fact that the performers posed for pictures and spoke to people outside the show room after their performance (which was about 80 minutes). The only complaint I had was that they had an extremely limited drink selection. I wanted either a chocolate martini or a piña colada but since neither of those options was available, I ended up getting a rum and coke. Np big deal and I won’t lose any sleep over it, but I would have preferred a better stocked bar. The venue was
relatively small but that translated into a cozy vibe for me. I also liked the way the performers interacted with the people seated in the front row. All in all, I found it to be an enjoyable and fun show and you could do a lot worse than seeing this show.

My husband and I are big Rat Pack fans and were so excited to see this show. We were pretty surprised to find that the Tuscany Suites are off-​strip and very quiet. Very nice looking hotel, but not what we were expecting from a show like this.
The Copa Room where the show is performed is SO SMALL. We felt like we were sitting in the laps of the folks sharing our tiny Ikea style table. The mini showroom was packed, and the show started with a poor quality video projection showing clips of the real Rat Pack, Liberace, Debbie Reynolds performing years ago.
There was no opening act, and then the guys came on stage to do their stuff. Sinatra was a pretty good singer, though looks nothing like Frank and didn’t have much personality. Sammy was pretty generic, not a great singer, didn’t sound or look much like him (Billy Crystal did it better in the 80’s, sweetheart.) Dean Martin was the real hit of the show, the guy’s really attractive, looks a lot like young Dean, and his speaking voice and mannerisms are great. Nobody can match Dean’s velvety singing, and singing was not this guy’s strong suit. But his overall performance was funny, likeable and charming, we really enjoyed him.
Drinks in this place are REALLY EXPENSIVE. $ 5 for a bottle of Coors. $ 10 for a really bad and tasteless martini.
If tickets had been about $ 30 each instead of $ 60, the price would be worth it, but it really felt like a talent show in someone’s garage, so $ 60 was pretty steep.

Really enjoyed this show! Dean Martin is incredibly true to form and was so hilarious. The 7 piece orchestra was amazing. What a show! The venue was easy to get to and the hotel is easy to naviagate (not huge like MGM). The showroom was intimate and perfect for this group. Ate at the Italian before the show — top notch. Would definitely come back again.

I’m a local and brought a friend to the show. We bought the VIP tickets and had excellent seats. We loved the format of the show and were very impressed by the talent of The Rat Pack impersonators. ‘Frank’s’ voice was spot on, ‘Dean’ was hysterical (wish he would have sung a bit more), and ‘Sammy’, while not as close to the original as the other two, was vibrant and talented. The Band was First Class!!! The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is the venue, it’s a bit tired and I wish it were a tad bigger. But I will recommend this show to all my friends and any visitors we may have. An amazingly talented group of guys…

What a wonderful, fun evening! We had dinner first, which was delicious then on to the show. We were seated front row center and spent the entire evening laughing and singing. The guys were great and the staff was very friendly. This was my second time to see the show, first time at the Tuscany. Much better venue!!!

We attend the show this past Friday, February 19, 2016. We bought our tickets directly at Players Club at the Tuscany and we were told that seating was on a first come-​first serve basis which later we learned that was FALSE. The venue is pretty small with chairs grouped as needed depending on the number of people in your group. We were about the 4^th people in line waiting to get in to get our seats. We didn’t get to choose our seats, instead, we were escorted by an elderly man with horrible tact who showed us to «our» seats which were against the wall in the back of the venue. Once the venue was full, we looked like sardines shoved in a can.
The drink hostess was in our opinion racist, in that we had to present our ID when paying by credit card, however, other guests around us who happened to be white americans were not carded. Needless to say, we only bought one drink the whole night and she’s lucky we are decent latinos who tipped her.
As to the show, I gotta say I was a little bored the first 15 minutes, however, it got better as the night progressed. The show includes performers imitating Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin. They crack a few jokes, they sing and they interact with the audience. The Band was the BEST, loved how they played. Overall, I had a good time but it’s one of those things you say to yourself, glad I saw it, never again!

Saw this show at the Tuscany, and apparently it has been scaled back a bit… We had Frank, Sammy and an amazing Deano, but no Joey Bishop and Marilyn was replaced by a bunny (which wasn’t a big deal to me).
We had so much fun! This is a great swingin’ show with all the songs you know. We were singing along and having a great time, which unfortunately wasn’t the norm. Who told the geriatrics that they had to sit there and watch the music of their youth without ever cracking a smile? Sheesh! Show em a little love, why dontcha. They deserve it.
They interact a lot with the first row. The sound is great, helped immensely by the wonderful Lon Bronson. The kitchy stuff in between sets is there too. One of my favorite memories is that Dean would always whisper in Frank’s ear during a song, make him laugh and then Frank would be late for his cue… They had that bit down perfectly. Still makes me laugh.
The stars stand outside after the show and will take photos and chat with everyone.
Because the Tuscany is off strip, there was a bit of a wait for taxis, but not too long.
Loved the show… Will be happy to go back and see again.

We bought our tickets online for about $ 65 per person with a free VIP upgrade.
Our seats were right up front :-)
The venue is a small «night club» type appearance with 4 seater tables instead of rows.
The mixture of singing and comedy was just as I remembered it to be back in the 60’s. Of the performers, Frank was OUTSTANDING, Dean was excellent, and Sammy was great. The only reason for the 4 star rating instead of 5 stars is that «Sammy» did not look or sound like Sammy Davis Jr.
Everyone has an opportunity to meet the small cast immediately following the show.
You are also able to take pics — which is a nice plush!

I brought my 89 y/​o mother to Vegas for a few days over Christmas and was looking for a good yet affordable show to see. Finally decided on The Rat Pack is Back and was not disappointed. The guys were great and the music was wonderful. The Dean Martin character was the most spot on, he looked and sounded just like the real Dean. Frank and Sammy were good although I thought Sammy should have thrown in some more dancing like the original Sammy especially some of the «old soft shoe». It was Christmas eve so they threw in some great holiday classics and had an attractive «playboy bunny» join them for Santa Baby and a couple of other tunes although I am not sure why they didn’t just introduce her as Ann Margaret, Debby Reynolds or Marilyn Monroe. I like the fact that the casino and the showroom were smaller, it made it easier for my mom to get around and the cast was able to better interact with the audience. We even decided to have dinner at the casino’s café before the show and it was very good. Just so happened that Thursday is the turkey dinner special and being Christmas eve it was appropriate and delicious. All in all I would recommend this show especially if you like the music from that era. My only regret is that I never got to see the real Frank, Sammy and Dean while they were still performing.

Too much attempt at comical comments. The players all have good voices, but by constantly trying to inject jokes it really downplays their singing abilities. They also alter some lyrics in an attempt to be «funny» but most often just come off as «silly». The Dean Martin has a very good voice, but does way too much «horsing around» and goes way overboard on a display of Martins drinking. Most in audience would have much preferred some serious singing and less attempts to be comedians!

In reading other reviews, it looks like they used to have more characters, but the current show at the Tuscany has Frank, Sammy, and Deano. Sammy and Dean were great! Frank pretty good! The casino is a little quieter, but it’s nice to see the off-​strip gems. Band and singing was great, and they pose for photos afterwards. Lovely show! Let’s get some other young audience members to go, shall we? Please? :D

The performances were excellent. There were a few surprises and it had quite a bit of comedy to it which is why I am rating it a 5 instead of a 4.

People need to remember to enjoy the people for who they are as much as who they portray. It was an enjoyable show if you enjoy the standards. My wife who isn’t a big fan of that music really enjoyed herself. Good job to the band and the entertainers

This show is now playing at the Tuscany Hotel. We saw it on July 23^rd at it was great! The guys sang lots of songs with funny banter thrown in for good measure. They even had a meet and greet afterwards. I will definitely be back to see this fun show!

It looks like this show was toned down judging from reviews when it was at the Rio. No Joey Bishop last night, no Marilyn Monroe. I thought Dean was the best, had the mannerisms and the jokes, of course. Frank really didn’t sound like Frank, and Sammy did not remind me of Sammy except for a few dance steps. Maybe not the right era for me but the show was average at best.

This is my second time seeing this show (once a few years ago at the Rio). We saw «this» show in their new location (Tuscany Resort). I like the venue as it is super easy to access and parking is a ample. They assumed their roles well… hanging out at the bar… flirting with women in the audience, etc. We enjoyed the jokes and playful interaction among «The Boys». The previous Unilocaler was correct as the voices/​appearance weren’t exact, but they ARE good. The slight differences allow a bit of room for the imagination. Worth seeing.

Nothing special, not really worth the journey to Rio hotel. I say 2.5 stars. I wish I had more to contribute but there is none.

Dean Martin’s voice was great, but he didn’t look like Deano. Frank Sinatra’s voice was just okay, but he looked like Frank. Sammy Davis was a GREAT dancer, but his voice makeover was just okay. Joey Bishop was great… funny and very entertaining. The BEST of the show was Marilyn Monroe. Very charismatic and great crowd interaction.

We had a great time at this show. We had a table right at the front. We were close enough to get attention from the performers.
While the voices and appearances weren’t exact, they were good. We liked the cheesy jokes. Our entire group enjoyed the show.
The only reason I don’t think it is 5 stars is the theater seemed a little old and run down.

Very intimate theater. The guys were great. They had the mannerisms and voices totally down. Loved the corny jokes.
I wish Dean had sang Ain’t That A Kick In The Head since it is my fave song by him.
I loved how they integrated back in the day with modern times. I am too young to have seen the real deal but seeing these guys made me feel like i was there back in time.

The premise is great, and the music is well arranged. Some of the actors are better than others. The venue is good. However, we had the floor seats («golden circle»), which wasn’t necessary as the less expensive seats had good visibility, too. Not worth paying extra.
No waitress service for drinks, and the place was (at best) 30% full. This brought down the energy of the room — we could tell it affected the actors. It was a Wed. night, and the show is early (7 pm), so that’s to be expected. They should consider maybe having all floor seating during the week to concentrate the audience and generate some good vibes.
I’d recommend, but not at the top of my list (that’s reserved for Jersey Boys) — and only if you get a discount. Wouldn’t pay full price for this one.

The show was great it takes you back to old Vegas with great music and performances. The theater is small and every seat is great. If you sit on the VIP floor level you have a chance at the performers interacting with you during the show. Dean Martin came down and was flirting with my mom (for fun) and had her sing in the mic, took her drink and drank it on stage only to buy her another! Good times. Great show for the price. Plus if you get tickets through some of the ticket websites for vegas, you can get a buffet admission with your price to the show.

My husband is a Dean Martin fan so we went to this show … Wow it was unbelievable! I definitely recommend this show. This is what Vegas was all about back in the day!

Loved tripping back in time with the original hipsters. These guys are cool, smooth, handsome, funny and flirty. Our group of women were all dolled up and felt initiated into the pack as soon as Dean Martin sauntered over and helped himself to my drink. He was so charming about it I didn’t mind, especially as the club comped me another. More champagne, please!
Though most of the audience were casually dressed I’d recommended dressing up for this show and getting into the vibe. It’s a small club and the actors come out into the audience, joking and crooning. They did a great job of imitating the original pack, I loved being transported into a very cool time in entertainment history.

Bravo, guys! From the moment we walked through the doors greeted by «Dean Martin» to the final curtains closing, we were immersed in an era long gone by but not forgotten. We were THERE.
«The Rat Pack is Back» does more than justice to the incredible entertainers of the time. They embody them, drawing us in with flair, humor and not just a little mischievousness.
I can’t recommend this show highly enough. I was with 5 other women and we opted to sit front and center so became part of the show. We couldn’t stop laughing and smiling the entire time. Well worth the price of admission.

Dressed to the nines for the night, our group (consisting of six women) were transported back into the smokey old days of Old Vegas and the Rat Pack. Dean Martin greet us at the door, kissing each of us on the hand as we walked in. We were grinning ear to as all four members on stage cracked jokes, poked fun at each other, and even came out into the audience, while singing the original Rat Pack’s songs to a tee.
And yes, they looked and sounded just like the originals! As we left that evening an older gentleman, amazed at how much fun we were having asked us how we liked the show. He said he had seen the original Rat Pack back in his day. «Dean Martin (Drew Anthony) «he said, «Made a better Dean Martin than Dean Martin did!»

I felt that the performers were very good, especially as singers. I was hoping for a real authentic experience so would have preferred more banter and less references to current events but I did appreciate what banter there was.
The worst part of the show for me was the audience. There was no energy from the audience at all. I feel a little sorry for the performers if this is what they face every day. I also don’t advise anyone dress like you are attending a Las Vegas show. Dress like you’re coming in after a lunch buffet if you want to fit. I think this same show with a different audience would have made all the difference in my enjoyment of the show.

I have seen The Rat Pack is Back several times over the years and have always enjoyed the show. It is like jumping back in time for 90 minutes to relive the good ol’ days of Vegas shows.
I have limited knowledge of the original Rat Pack because it was before my time, however I still enjoyed the show a lot. The songs are the ones that even kids know. A great song is a great song, no matter when it first came out! The comedy sketches are still funny. I laughed out loud more than once and I rarely do that.
The cast seems to have great chemistry most nights. I have been there when there was a different Sinatra and it was a little off, but still really good. My favorite one is the Dean Martin guy. I always though that Dean-​O was the coolest of the bunch! I even played That’s Amore at my wedding. I still love that guy!
I think the show is a really good deal as well. The tickets seem to go from $ 30-​$ 60 depending where you are looking. I have seen these tickets on Groupon, Living Social, and in the local touristy magazines at really good discounted rates. I think you get a lot of bang for your buck.

We were at the Rio and looking for a show. It was expensive but worth it mostly. The look-​alikes were very good. I think our Joey Bishop was a stand-​in and he was okay, but not as good as the other Trio. Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra were pretty impressive. Although their voices were good, they weren’t perfect of course. So don’t expect perfection, just a trip down memory lane.
I particularly enjoyed the Marilyn Monroe look-​alike. I thought she was very good and entertaining. All in all, if you enjoyed the original rat pack, you will probably appreciate this show.

Four stars for the show, ZERO stars for the lame-​ass, zombiefied audience of lifeless bluehairs.
This show would totally rock if they made like Tony-N-Tina’s Wedding and just HIRED some energetic young people to sit in the crowd and applaud, cheer, laugh and interact. As it was, it was almost painful at times watching the fabulously energetic performers struggle to engage the sea of dead-​eyed fannypackers. Greatest generation? I THINK NOT!
The four impersonators are pretty good, and give a fun, feisty performance — that sort of falls flat without the synergy of a fun audience. The live orchestra is fabulous — full brass section, upright bass, piano and drums — and overall, the production does a fantastic time of making you feel like it’s 1962 all over again. «Joey Bishop» tells some fantastically retro racist and sexist jokes, Dino plies the boozy shtick, and Sammy does his earnest/​creepy thing… all as expected. But the Frank Sinatra character was WAY better than I expected — not only does he look and sound like him, he also plays the dago gentleman-​thug thing to a TEE!
I really feel for these guys — they’re super talented, but their fabulousness is wasted on their decrepit audience. What say we all band together and go out for Mad Men night? I’ll wear my Pan Am stewardess costume, you wear your skinny tie. We’ll order up some martinis, light up cigarettes at the table, and guffaw loudly through the entire show. And when the bluehairs (or ushers) complain, we’ll tell ‘em: «Put a cork in it, sister!»
