I care for your pet and home as if they were my own.

Pet sitting in your home by an insured and bonded professional adult who has been cat owned for over 40 years and in business for over 19 years. I will administer medications; oral, topical, or injectable if your pet will allow it.

My rates for a 30-​minute visit are reasonable and not more than you would pay to board at most places. Plus I will bring in your mail, water plants, and ensure all is well with your home.

I am currently serving the area that is within a 5 mile radius of Russell Road and Hualapai Way. This would be the Southwest Las Vegas area.

All pets hate to leave their home – don’t cause undue stress, call me and let them stay where they are the most comfortable.

History

Established in 1996.

I started cat sitting because I love cats.

I have learned a lot over the years not only from my own cat, but my clients’ cats. I worked with a Persian breeder who, at one time, had 17 cats and kittens in her home. That’s a lot of eyes and noses to clean, as the Persian breed is a higher maintenance breed.

I do not have employees, so once you meet me I would be the only person in your home. I will treat your cats and home as if they were my own.

A background check has been done thru Pet Sitters International – I passed!

Nanette has been a cat guardian since 1970. She started pet sitting in 1996 when there were no pet sitters in her area. While focusing on cats, she does enjoy caring for dogs. Dogs are more playful than most cats and you can get outside for some exercise, which is always good for everyone.

Over the years Nanette has learned how to successfully pill a cat, and has the scars to prove it. And she has cared for diabetic cats and cats with asthma who use inhalers.

Pet sitting is truly a dream profession for Nanette. Not many people can say they love what they do and would not give it up for anything.

I want to say thank you so much to Nanette for taking such good care of my 2 kitties while I was away! She did a great job — scooped the litter boxes, kept them fed and watered, and she brushed and played with them during each visit. She also swept the floor around the litter boxes and vacuumed at least once during my week out of town. I will definitely recommend her services to anyone who needs cat sitting :-)

Nanette is the ultimate professional: trustworthy, consistent, thorough and above all, compassionate. I knew she loved my kitties and that I needn’t worry about them when I was away. She was always available and notified me weeks in advance on those rare occasions when she was out of town. I have been desparately trying to replace her since she left Chicago and opened her business in the Las Vegas area but cannot find any service that comes close to the level of service Nanette provided. I recommend her highly!

I love Nanette! She send me pictures everyday when she visited. I know that my cat got great care while I was away! I also really appreciated that she came by my apartment beforehand to make sure that she knew where everything was. I will definitely use her every time I’m away!

Finding someone great to watch your pet while you’re away is tough – not only do they need to take care of your baby, but they need to keep your mind at ease – and Nanette does just that. I hate having to leave my kitty, but when I do, I know she is well cared for, and receives love and attention from Nanette. Nanette goes above and beyond, sending me a daily update and photo of my kitty, which is very appreciated. Being able to feel confident that everything will be OK with the kitty while I am away makes it possible for me to travel… thanks for everything, Nanette!

Upon recommendations here, Nanette watched our cat for 3 days just ending. She is very thorough and conscientious, and remembered all her idiosyncrasies. My cat does not like change, she was depressed for 10 days once after we took her to the vet. But she seemed quite fine when we returned, which was a big relief. Highly recommended, trustworthy and reasonably priced.

We have lived in the city going on 3 years (60 602 & 60 601) and had used a couple of other sitters who were mediocre at best before finding Nanette. When she came for the initial home visit, you could tell right away that she loves cats. My two boys, Pumpkin & Shandy, took to her immediately and treated her as if they had known her a long time! We have used Nanette ever since. She is very professional, friendly, and experienced with cats. She gives a daily report on how the kitties were doing that day and even included pictures, which really gives us peace of mind when away from home. She also picked up our mail and watered our plants. Nanette goes way above and beyond the other sitters we have used. My husband and I both highly recommend her to anyone in her vicinity who needs a cat sitter while they are away!

It was our first time using Nanette to pay daily visits to feed our Siamese cat, Tybs. After reading the gleaming reviews on this forum we interviewed her and found her to be a spot on choice for the 12 days we were to be out of town. She left notes of Tybs’ activities and behavior as well as sent e-​mail updates. Additionally, she picked up our mail for us and was as professional and kind as could be. I would certainly use her again and highly recommend her to anyone in the Loop in need of a cat-​sitter.

Unfortunately for us, Nanette no longer services zip code 60 607, where we just moved. She explained that it has just been too hard to go west of the expressway in winter, so she has stopped coming out this way. We’re sad to lose such a great sitter. She was fantastic with the cats and we’ll all miss her. I have a hard time trusting people, especially when they’re coming into my home when I’m not there, but I never felt anything other than comfortable with her being in my home while I was away. I still haven’t met her, but my boyfriend could tell when they met (I was out of town when I hired her for the first time) that she was someone we could trust to come into our home, which is a huge plus for me. I would recommend her highly to anyone in the area looking for a caring pet sitter. Her rates are fantastic as well, which is a nice bonus. She’s generally available on short notice, but she does take a vacation during October each year, which she tells you about in advance so you can make other arrangements if necessary. She’s also very good at returning emails within a day or two of you sending them. She’d most likely be able to accommodate you on pretty short notice if you call.

Nanette has watched our cat several times over the last year when we have been traveling. She is always very friendly, is helpful with tips for cat-​proofing the apartment while we are out, and takes good care of our pet while we are away. She is there for half an hour each day, so after she takes care of the immediate needs (food, water, litter), she plays with the cat and then writes us a note for each day that we get to read when we get home. The notes are always a joy to read, and it’s good to hear when you get home how your pet was while you were away.
I would strongly recommend Nanette to anyone downtown who needs to leave their cat at home while they’re out of town.
