Symphony Park

Hey! I have never seen anyone actually play here. Is it really a park if no one plays there? Love, love, love.
The insidious figures behind the creation of this park took tax dollars — our tax dollars — and built this park on our land. I do not possess any empirical evidence, but it would not surprise me one bit if it were certain, specific contractors that they — wink, wink — knew would do the job especially well. Probably met at church, ya dig. I digress.

I have enjoyed the following «firsthand experience[s]» at Symphony Park: (*waves at flaggers.)
1. I have parked at the complimentary lot and walked to the park and sat down on a bench.
2. I have also parked at the bike rack and walked to the park and sat down on a bench.
3. I have also strolled from DLV — access gained thanks to the City Hall parking bridge — and walked to the park and sat down a bench. Benches are hard and not very ergonomically designed, especially if one does not have a flat ass.
4. Sometimes — but not always — I take a brief sip of water from the bubbler (that is Boston-​speak for drinking water fountain). It is never cold.

The two acres of Donald W. Reynolds Symphony Park exist thanks to tax dollars, and therefore it is a public park. Public. Public.
Therefore, what are these rules? They can order anyone to leave for any reason at any time? Is this still America? Is this a public park or not? Do we still have an ACLU chapter in this state or did they leave us to the wolves?
There is a long, storied history in this town to criminalize the indigent. There were all manner of ordinances passed by individuals in power to remove other individuals without power from our society. individuals who had and have as much of a right to be here than you, or me, or the fat cats who are expropriating wealth in capital cronyism/​corporate-​welfare to their friends and family, the real welfare queens of the valley. (Get a job.)
Which begs the question: when should they be able to remove individuals from a public park? Well, if they are holding an event like The Tempest. That is understandably necessary. (And The Tempest was utterly outstanding.) However, that is not exactly the language being displayed on the signage at Symphony Park. It states that they can remove anyone for any reason, willy-​nilly.
Well, tax dollars paid for this damn land; so, follow the U.S. Constitution or give us our tax dollars back so we can build a real park where everyone is welcome to love and live and love.

I use Symphony Park for a stop over on my 20 or 40 mile bike rides. I stop there, drink some water chill out on the grass for a minute, it’s a nice place

A real park in Downtown Vegas? Pretty much.
Just imagine this is the east coast and you could be in
Central Park. Just without the people! Great spot for photos too, with the green grass and unique art (that mutilcolored pipe thingy is pretty cool).
Culture has arrived Downtown, surprise your visitors with a trip here and they will thank you.

Such a wonderful gem in the middle of downtown Vegas! It’s a beautiful park with bright sculptures and green grass. I was visiting Vegas and staying downtown on Fremont Street. Symphony Park was a great escape for a morning run destination. If you live in Vegas, definitely check out this up and coming area. It’s so wonderful to see the city taking the resources to create pleasant little pockets of loveliness!

SOOOO DARN PRETTY!!!
I wish I lived closer to here to just walk, bring the nephew/​niece or just take the dogs. I love Vegas and Vegas life but, lets be honest and say that all the casinos and Strip madness can get old and played out.
Being here at Symphony Park makes me feel like I’m in LA or SF just enjoying the outdoors and culture of the city. Especially when it’s next to the beautiful architecture of The Smith’s Center. Ugh, I’m so in love with that building and it’s Great Gatsby feel.
The park alone is strewn with lite lightbulbs on lines that go from palm tree to palm tree and it’s sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo profile picture worthy!
Along with the various art lying across the grounds.
Came here during sunset and it was perfect. No filter needed.
Can’t wait to have a picnic here!

Symphony Park is a nice place to enjoy the outdoors during intermission at the Smith Center, or for your work’s happy hour, if you work where I work. :)

Came here for the 4^th of July Philharmonic fireworks. While we loved the fireworks display, it happened 30 – 35 later than the advertised time. Too hot to be waiting outside. Hopefully they work out the kinks for next year’s show.

beautiful spot for a picnic. They also have music playing and its a great well groomed space. If the weather is right I can only imagine how much fun could be had here! They do concerts here and it seems like a perfect spot for an outdoor concert. Everything associated with the smith center always stuns me, and Symphony park is no different!

We had our 1^st Quarter All-​Hands meeting in the Smith Center (which was just lovely) then had a gorgeous happy hour in Symphony Park. I had never been to this area and was so pleasantly surprised to see such lush green beauty inside of this wonderful desert city. I loved the space, the gorgeous artwork and statues and how food trucks will pull up to provide you with delicious nourishment. :)
