Super 8 Las Vegas/Nellis Afb

It’s a small place, but good if your on a budget. The room is clean and mainly built for one person. Two if your both okay with a studio sized room.

I knew to keep my expectations low. I just needed a place for the night that had accessible laundry. This place is a one star but the staff is great so I gave them two. The problem isn’t necessarily the hotel it’s the clientele it attracts. Don’t take my word for it. See for yourself.

I made the reservation to Super 8 Las Vegas/​Nellis AFB since January 2016 for 4÷1÷2016 stay, and did not know this Super 8 is 15 miles away from the Las Vegas strip. After driving 300 miles, my family and I arrived at 2:00 p.m. I tried to check in before 3:00 p.m. to get a room number. The girls were hostile and rude especially the young Hispanic female manager named Nicole who barked at me like a mad dog and refused to allow me to get a room number and back later to get the room key.
I returned about 11:30 p.m. to check in; the only worker there was a young Hispanic male Chris who bullied, intimidated, and demanded me to photocopy my driver’s license. I told him that no one had ever told me to photocopy my ID when I made my reservation. To duplicate my driver’s license is unlawful. He harassed me, cancelled my reservation, and threatened to call the police if I did not leave. My family and I had no place to sleep after a long drive to Las Vegas. All of the other hotels were sold out. Chris resold my reservation to someone else for $ 120 that my reservation was $ 53. Strongly not recommend this hell of an evil place on earth!

You get a little more than you pay for here…
Overall a good stay at the Super 8. The carpet had some stains, and the beds are very firm. The Free Breakfast is toaster Waffles and Juice — At the end of the day it was inexpensive and I feel the value for my money was fair. I would have liked some bacon with the breakfast.
Checking in the front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. The room itself was a bit dated, except the Bathroom. The Bathroom has been updated and was a great accessible room for someone with physical disabilities. There are ADA Bars along the wall and bathtub to make it easy to get up and down. I’m not disabled myself however after a night in Vegas and having to take an Über back from the strip (15 miles) I came to use the ADA bars quite a bit. I was also impressed with how clean the Bathroom was for a budget hotel.
Thank you for a nice stay at the super 8. I stayed in two hotels this weekend, while Super 8 wasn’t a luxury hotel it’s great for a family on a budget. Thanks for the friendly staff as well.

Worthless hotel. rooms are not bright, no light, no fridge, no microwave. dark all the room. do not waste money here.

Your typical super 8, only with less towels. It had all the most basic needs, beds, coffee maker, tv. It’s about what I expected when I booked it. The gal who checked me in did not speak English. There is a small pool, but I’m unsure of the cleanliness of it. The room was clean and the ac worked. No one delivers here Fyi so you’ll be making at least a short trip for evening munchies.

Really bad hotel and really bad. Only One greying small towel i guess they expect Sharing between you and the floor that had no rugs. They did give us 2 regular and 2 face towels after i complained. A analog tv and keurig coffeemaker is all you get. Curtains were ripped and carpet looks like a pornographic staging place. Dont go here. Shame super8 for keeping this place running. About 10 miles from the strip. Plus for abundant parking.

Would give this place zero stars! The lock was broken off the door, carpet was pulling up, curtains were torn and hanging down, dirty towel in the bathroom, a/​c barely works. Plan on checking out early even if it means losing my money!

OMG I’ve stayed at cheaper motels and slept better!
The staff is very friendly and sweet at the desk, but the rooms are beyond disgusting…
There were huge conventions and all the hotels on the strip were way higher than we wanted to spend… so we were ok with being a bit father out but boy was this a mistake.
I waited to shower til the next day when we checked in at Mandalay Bay, we wanted to get in town a day early and that was not the smartest decision we’ve ever made…
So gross… I didn’t even change in to PJs and I didn’t even want to put my head down on that bed… for a chain… you’d think they would take better care of the rooms and clean the rooms…
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

The worst place I have ever stayed. Felt dirty. Our non-​smoking room had clearly been smoked in… several times. Would have gone somewhere else but we prepaid and had already driven 10 hours.
Just don’t.

Dirty, Nasty, Scary. If you enjoy grey towels, mystery hairs in a «clean» shower, curtain rod falling out of the wall, mysterious blood stains on the walls, carpet not vacuumed, dirt, sunflower seeds, candy wrappers, mystery hair on the telephone, gap between the wall and the floor (open space), linens made me itch, a/​c loud, charged $ 5 for the microwave and $ 5 for the fridge. I took photos. Won’t stay there ever again.

I rarely give a bad review but this place was beyond terrible, we ended up leaving to drive home because we could not stay here. Our curtains were ripped half open so everyone could see inside when they walked by (we were right next to the stairs so a lot of people were walking by). This is so dangerous because everyone can see all my belongings. I couldn’t change in the room or everyone would see. The toilet paper was half used, the floors were sticky, there were stains everywhere. I lifted up the old top blanket and there was an old fuzzy one underneath and I thought that it couldn’t be sanitary so I smacked it and a big puff of dust came flying into the air. That’s when I knew we had to leave. The towels didn’t even smell like bleach. What a dive, not even sure if they have a housekeeper.

CONS–
Room 229– A/​C unit sounded like a tank and knocked louder than hell. I booked on price
because of the «pet friendly» rating. When I checked in, the front desk told me it was a $ 15 per night, per pet deposit! Nothing about that on the website. Lots of seedy looking characters walking around at night. Only one towel provided, and told «we don’t have enough linen» to give extra, or a pillow. Wifi connection sucks, and is super slow.
Pros– cheap. Lots of parking. Room was pretty clean.

Don’t do it. I’m not sure why we stayed except that it was the end of a 8hr drive and our 7^th day on the road. We didn’t have the energy to switch hotels once we were in the room. Once the lights are on, there were plenty of carpet stains. searching for a electric socket there was 6mo. of wrappers and dust behind the bed stands. We heard everything our neighbors did/​said as well as the parking lot noise. A lot of the customers appeared to be long term stays. Bathroom, not too clean.
Pros: it was cheap; cheapest on our entire 2.5wk trip.
HOWEVER, we learned our lesson and will be much more careful in the future.

I have definitely stayed at worse hotels. That said, it was pretty bad.
Yes, I know it’s a cheap Super 8, but the website lied, it was kind of dirty, and there were some red flags.
PROs
+ It was cheap.
+ It was a good location for hitting Valley of Fire State Park.
+ Parking was free.
+ A short walk to I-Hop…cuz you’re going to need to eat breakfast somewhere.
+ The AC worked and wan’t super loud.
+ Good water pressure in the shower.
+ The girl who checked us in was nice, and was able to scrounge up a couple extra pillows since theirs are super hard and flat.
+ We checked under the mattress for bedbugs and dead hookers, and found neither.
CONs
— FYI, if you look at the picture on their website, they show a nice, slightly photo-​shopped looking lobby. That’s not their lobby and never was. It’s a Korean BBQ that’s now vacant.
— The website says they serve a continental breakfast. I’m not sure what continent they’re talking about, but it’s bad coffee and a juice machine with nothing else.
— The website also says they have free WiFi. However, they girl at the front desk told us they can barely get a signal IN the office, but we definitely weren’t going to get a connection in the room.
— The room, especially the bathroom, was a little yick. Lots of dust, stains, etc.
— We had to ask for extra pillows because theirs are really, really flat (see above). She was able to find a couple for us, but they smelled vaguely smokey.
— Several of the rooms have noticed posted in the window that they had been shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District (see photo). I couldn’t figure out from an internet search what the violations actually were, but it can’t be good. *shudder*
— The second time I took a shower, I turned on the water and it was dark brown for several seconds. I hate to even think why.
It was cheap, we didn’t get robbed, and we didn’t come back with bedbugs, so it was survivable for a couple of days. If you’re fine being lied to and sleeping next to a room condemned by the health department, this should do just fine.

So many bad things, I can’t even think of where to start. The girl at the front desk seemed nice enough to start with, but everything changed after we got to our first room. The room was a total mess: bed sheets tossed around, trash on the floor, and cash sitting on the desk. I went back to the front desk and told her that our room wasn’t clean, no apologies from her just a second room key. Room #2: air conditioner broken, ants in the bathroom, and no towels. Front desk reaction: «What’s the matter now?». Room #3 was the best of the worst, so we stuck with it. The decision to stay at this location was called into question at 2:30am when there were loud noises outside of our door and who is there? The front desk girl chatting with some guy. Horrible experience.

It gets a four out of five as far as motels are concerned. It’s not the Hilton, but it’s a step up from the local inn. The rooms weren’t half bad in all honesty. What you’d expect and maybe even a little more. I was recently put up in a room there that had a kitchen and little seating area.
Smelled a little funny, but like I stated earlier, motel.

One of the nicer super 8 motels I’ve stayed in. Not much far off the Luxor!

THEY ARE PET FRIENDLY!!!
When no one in Vegas would take me and my four legged companion…
Super 8 Motel did.
When every hotel on the strip was booked solid on 4^th of July, (because someone decided she might want to spend the night as she was passing through)…
Super 8 Motel had one room left with a big sign that read «NO PETS»
but they gave it to me and my pet ANYWAY.
Their customer service in person and on the phone was outstanding!
Yeah their rooms are your average Motel rooms, no frills, no bells but clean and under 100 bucks. If you compare them to some of the 5 star hotels, they probably don’t add up… and if you’re on some romantic get-​a-​way this isn’t the place to stay… but if you’re traveling cross country with your furry best friend and need a place to crash for a night… this is a great place to stay.

I don’t like giving out 1 star, but this place really earned it. I showed up at 3:30 am, after sitting 6 hours at the airport to find out American Airlines canceled my flight.
First thing I notice is that there is no attendant at the front desk, because he is out front smoking. That’s fine everyone needs a break, I wait about 5 minutes and he gives me a room.
Second thing I notice is that I walk into a room that includes a loving couple sleeping like babies. Well it’s almost 4 am, so why shouldn’t they be. I quitely leave and ask for another room at the front desk. I know these things happen, especially with the budget accomodations, so I got my key and went to my new room.
Third thing I notice, which earned this one star is the fishy smell in the room. How do I know it’s a real fishy smell and not a fake one? Well I drive by the DC fish market on the way to and from work everyday. I know fishy when I smell it, and this place was fishy. I don’t know why the place smelled like rotten fish, Lake mead is kind of far away, and there’s very little water in the lake.
Skip this place, go stay at Excaliber, costs about the same. Oh and never fly AA.
