Residence Inn Las Vegas – Hughes Center

Pros: Clean and has like 6 waffle irons at its free breakfast. Room is acceptable– the appropriate size
Also there The Habit is next door making tasty inexpensive food incredibly accessible
Cons: no lotion (it’s vegas, it’s dry!) and the towels have a funky smell– they must use an odd detergent.
Overall perfectly acceptable place to stay– would stay here over other Residence Inns due to location and The Habit

Our stay at this Residence Inn was from Nov 30^th to Dec 4^th. 2015. It has been the worst experience we have ever had, and my husband has stayed at numerous Marriott accommodations. On Tuesday around 2:15 a. m or so, I was chatting to my sis on my cell phone on the bed closest to the door, because my hubby was asleep on the other bed and I didn’t want to disturb his sleep. I looked down at the comforter and could not believe what I saw… I was looking at a urine stain on the comforter. I was disgusted and appalled!!! Can we say disgusted again!!! But it doesn’t stop their… Theirs also lipstick on the comforter in two places… This is the same bed my husband and I cuddled in the night before. My stomach starts turning!!! The reason I didn’t notice the stains is because the comforter is covered by a thin cover. I call the front desk and speak to Ms Hernandez who tells me she can put us in another room, and also told me that she would give us points. Long story short we are in a new room after 4 am. My husband lost sleep, and I am appalled!!! So we’re in Room 604 now, we were in Room 704. I’m going to the bathroom and I look at the door… are you kidding me… there’s what looks like dried urine stains on the door. And its definitely been there for a long time! So I definitely cannot use the hooks! To add to the list. trash under the bed and stains under the sink. House keeping was sent to clean everything. This is appalling, seriously!!! I cried, my hubby and I rarely get away, (we have 8 children n yes they are all ours) I hope no one else has to go through this!!! It truly put a damper on our trip. My husband was rewarded 7000 points. They did say they were sorry.

If you are going to Las Vegas to enjoy the strip then this is not the place to stay. It is about a thirty five minute walk or a twelve dollar cab ride to get to the strip. But, since I was there for work I really enjoyed this hotel. It has nice, spacious and updated rooms. They are very comfortable and clean.
The hotel is right next to many chain restaurants which was convenient for easy meals. The hotel has free appetizers, beer and wine some nights. I didn’t partake because I had previous plans but when I got back to the hotel there were plenty of people seeming to enjoy themselves. They also have a complimentary breakfast. It is very typical with yogurt, fruit, cereal, muffins and a few hot options.

I know this isn’t a 5 star resort you’d find on the strip, but I’m giving it 5 stars because it was exactly what we needed. It was a 5 day vacation with my boyfriend and being in our early 20s, me being out of college and on our own, we needed the trip to be as cheap as possible (but I wasn’t going to settle for some dingy motel at $ 50 a night either).
Sure, there were resorts on the strip that had cheaper nightly rates than this Residence Inn, but all the resorts charge this ridiculous «resort fee» of an extra $ 20 per night and none of them offered free breakfast, so in the long run, the Residence Inn was the cheapest we found.
Now, I’m not too keen on hotel breakfasts or buffets. They gross me out and are normally pretty nasty, but I thought, «hey, it’s free, just suck it up and eat it.» But to my surprise, they have an amazing breakfast buffet! There was a large selection: scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, ham, pancakes, french toast, biscuits and sausage gravy, cereal, fruits, oatmeal, yogurts, and create-​your-​own Belgian waffles. And it actually tasted really good! The eggs were extremely puffy and not slimy, wattery, or wet like other hotel breakfasts. The pancakes weren’t small or rubbery either. Honestly, their breakfast was one of the highlights of our trip.
Our room even came with a kitchen we weren’t aware of. The room was clean, smelled clean, there were no creepy sheet stains in the bed, the shower was sparkling white, inside of the microwave was spotless… the bed was comfortable. Sure, the furniture is a little outdated, but who cares?! You’re on vacation! So you shouldn’t even be in your room all that much to actually use it! The pool is small, but at the time we went, no one else was in it so we were cool with the pool. The staff is also very kind!

I stayed in this hotel for a business trip. I must say they have the best complimentary WiFi I’ve seen in a hotel. I was able to keep my connection going at all time. They also have a big desk to use as your working station, the TV is perfectly located so you can use it to hook up your lap top and use it as your monitor. Complementary breakfasts is great, nothing fancy but compared to other complementary breakfasts I’ve seen, this is at the top. Location is also great as it’s off the strip but closed enough, it’s like a 15 – 20 walk. Staff always friendly and even accommodate early check in for me. Definately will be coming back with my family.

It’s decent for what it is. We used Marriott points so that’s why we stayed here instead of a fancy joint. Rooms were clean, staff was friendly. Breakfast ends early. It’s a decent breakfast, a few things change each day. Long chaotic lines. 15 min walk to the strip.

I’m staying here for 3 weeks for work. There has been banging in the room next to me to the point of it shaking the bed. My room door has been left open with no one in it cleaning or anywhere near it. The continental breakfast is terrible

The breakfast they serve at 0630 is amazing! And the staff are very friendly. The building, and it’s maintenance is obviously meticulously attended to. The rooms are spacious, and well equipped with up to date appliances and electronics, and the beds are comfortable.
The only reason I dropped a star from their rating is the pool. It’s outdoor, in the middle of the towers, and never gets any sunshine. Part of the reason Income to the desert is for some sun!

Room amenities are ok good. fridge, microwave etc.
Bed’s not that comfortable.
Towels are too old.
Breakfast is good with varieties if you stay more than one day.
Staff are all friendly and accommodating.

I stayed during Labor Day weekend the price was good. It’s not far from strip. Cheap taxi rides and I like that they drive by often. Buffet style breakfast is decent, no bacon though. The room is spacious and beds are comfy. I like that there was a dish washer.

Overall everything here was OK. The hotel needs to be renovated, I think the staff does a good job with working with what they have, but the rooms themselves feel a little rundown, the furniture is worn etc…
The room at least felt clean and the location is great. It is within walking distance to the strip, but not on it, yet they have plenty of stuff to eat literally right outside the parking lot.
The staff here was friendly and everything else was good.

Wouldn’t go back to this hotel. I love dogs and animals just as much as anybody but I don’t want dog hairs on the bathroom floor! The front desk says they charge $ 100 for people with dogs because they do a special clean up after the pet leaves. Well they must’ve missed my room! It’s really an uncomfortable stay when you have to put «sheets» on the sofa and chairs because you don’t want someone’s pet hair all over you! Residence Inn you should make sure the housekeeper does that «$ 100» clean up!

We had an overall good stay at the residence inn Hughes center over Labor Day weekend. Andrew in particular was great in checking us in and making us feel welcome.
A few things i’d like for the hotel and especially the GM to note–
There was trash in the fridge and under the sink when we arrived in our room. That was disgusting and unsanitary. The maids should have taken care of that before we checked in. Unacceptable.
The carpet was full of dirt and looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in weeks.
The complimentary breakfast does not offer anything for those with dietary restrictions. I was a little disappointed in this. Even the scrambled eggs have whey and soy in them.
Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. The location is nice, a mile from the strip, and I liked having a fridge and a mini living room as opposed to being cramped in a large casino hotel. Plus, parking is easy.

The experience was not good… I will give the hotel credit… (One more star) The GM contacted me and comped my weekend at the hotel. She seemed very understanding to my discontent.
Unfortunately it did not give me the experience we expected: 2 bedroom/​2 bath suite that could sleep 6, downgraded to a tiny studio/​1 bathroom that also sleeps 6. Really tight quarters. We expected to spend more time there and ended up feeling claustrophobic. I don’t think I would go back there again.

I spent 2 nights 3 days in this hotel in my visit. Here’s my breakdown:
— wifi internet is indeed free of charge, but ut is at 1 mb/​s. Meaning you have to spend about a minute to open facebook. I ended up using my data plan instead.
— room and bathroom walls look like it is an 18^th century place, no it is not historic, it is old and cracked.
— bathroom is tiny.
— they will barely give you shampoo. I am a man with almost no hair and one bottle barely get me through a good shower. I wonder what would be the case for women with longer hair.
— breakfast is limited like all other hotels I have been to, but I was honored to have egg shells in my scarmbeled egg on two consecutive days. Am I lucky or is it a standard in the scrambled eggs! !!
— price wise, you can go to the fanciest hotel and casino on the strip for the same money.
Simply put. I am extremely disappointed with Mariott that this will be the last time I ever use them.

This was actually a wonderful hotel in a very convenient location. The room had a kitchen, desk, couch, comfy bed, nice sized bathroom, etc. The bed was perfectly comfortable — not too hard, not too soft. And there were plenty of pillows and blankets. Everything was very well-​kept and felt like new. There’s free food and drinks at various times in the lobby. It’s right next to Gordon Biersch and a super short drive to the Strip. It’s definitely a nice, low-​key place to stay where you can escape the casinos. I saw a lot of flight crew folks coming in and out of here.

I have to say I think this property is in desperate need of a renovation. Everything seemed okay at check in aside from a lack of parking. Honestly I wouldn’t have had a car if the hotel offered a shuttle from the airport, but apparently this is not something mid scale hotels in Vegas do. When I got to my room after a long day of traveling I pretty much just jumped into bed and passed out.
The next day when I was getting ready for the day I started to notice things. For example the faucet in the room leaked and was a nightmare to turn off. In fact midway through the 1^st night I had to get up multiple times to fiddle with it to get it off. The carpets were worn down and when I came back to my room later that day after being out the entire floor smelled like a decomposing body.
The morning breakfast this location offers leaves something to be desired as well. Thankfully I only made the mistake of trying it once and never again during my stay.
If I was going back to Vegas I honestly would not stay here again.

Maribel T. and her sister invited me to go with them one weekend and we stayed here for 3 days/​2 nights. I walked in surprised, not thinking it would have a small kitchen. This hotel is made for a nice long weekend. It has a small kitchen, a good size fridge and a microwave. It’s not located on the strip but it sure is close to it and everywhere else we went to. Also, it includes free breakfast :)

Stayed in a 1 bedroom. It was relatively big for what we were expecting. We had a full den, complete with sofa bed, table and tv so you can have people over. Full kitchen, fridge, coffee maker and microwave together with the kitchen utensils
Bed and all of the linens were clean. It was firm, the down was just right for the Vegas weather which was in the high 90’s that weekend. Pillows were to my liking soft feather pillows.
Free breakfast buffet with your choice of oatmeal, cereal, potatoes, waffles milk and orange or apple juice.
Check in and check out was a snap. Late check out was up to 12:30pm only
We couldn’t find where the ice machine at our floor.
Self parking at their garage next door.

Nice room with the full sized fridge and DO NOT TOUCH bottles of water sitting there.
The beds were comfy and pillows were not super firm and high like the Fairfield.
Big ass TV was nice but at a weird angle from the beds for optimal viewing. I guess it was that way for a reason. The only good viewing angle came from a chair placed right in front.
Breakfast in the morning was nice. Multiple waffle stations, Oatmeal, frozen blueberries — blah, Microwaved sausages, enough scrambled eggs for a small army.
Service was great. Lady gave me a tray to hold my food to take back up to the room.
Parking underground behind the pool was a definite plus to keep the car cool.
Check in/​out process was a snap.
