Rainsprings Dental Group and Orthodontics

Backstory: 1÷6÷16 I went to Absolute Dental Blue Diamond to fix a broken filling. They took one X-​ray of the filling and told me I needed a root canal or extraction and had 3 cavities on a side that they did not take X-​rays on. They referred me to Absolute on Ann road so an Endodontist could look at the tooth. On 1÷19÷16 (almost 2 weeks later) I go to Ann Road for a 9:00 am appointment; I do not get called back until 9:35 and I was the only one there. Endo will not touch the tooth because it is the very last molar on the top and my mouth is too small so it will inconvenience him, he recommends going back to Blue Diamond to an Oral Surgeon to pull it, which they schedule for 1÷25÷16. However, if the Oral Surgeon decides I need to be put under, I will have to make a fourth appointment at a third location for general anesthesia. I spent nearly a month going back and forth with Absolute so I called someone else.

1÷21÷16 Came here for a second opinion and was taken back at 9:31, for a 9:30 appointment. I got full X-​rays and photos of all my teeth, and was taken to a room. Within 2 minutes a doctor came in, looked at everything, including lymph nodes, bone density in the gums, and gave her opinion that a crown wouldn’t hold due to lack of surface area since the cavity is under a filling. They also did a cleaning while I was there. Turns out I don’t have any other cavities like Absolute claimed. The Hygienist was really nice and did not make my gums bleed. She also told me that she used to work at Absolute Ann and turns out the «Endo» is a regular dentist. Thanks Absolute, glad to know you really care. So, I scheduled my extraction with Rainsprings Oral Surgeon for the 29^th and, under general anesthesia, it should be done in 20 minutes.

The visit was okay.
The Doctor and assistant were okay.
My cleaning… was great! She was probably the best thing in that office.
I won’t be returning, I wish the hygienist lorry or lourie would follow me to my next office!

Wow, it’s almost been close to five years that I’ve been coming here… from new to familiar faces they have been what a dental office should be. Professional, informative with a warm family feel… where everybody knows your name*wink*. (Ok…so i made a «Cheers» reference lol)
The one constant at Rainsprings Dental is Dr. Stokes. I can see that the other doctors and staff are a reflection of him. A person who loves what they do, but more importantly, is good at what they do! I mean, hey, for many going to the dentist it can be a uneasy experience. And nothing is more reaffirming than a dentistry that is pleasant and that’s well run. If ya want the bestin Las Vegas, i encourage everyone to go here! :)

Everytime I have gone here, I’ve had nothing but a great experience! The staff is always so friendly (in particular is Brandon and Christina) and they really know how to make you feel comfortable! If you’re looking for a POSITIVE dentist experience, this is the place for you!

I’ve been here a couple times and thought I was satisfied… But really, should I be satisfied or happy? The staff is friendly, the Dentist seems knowledgeable. But the wait is too long, each time I’ve gone I’ve been seen by different employees/​dentist. I prefer more consistency. Recently called and the new girl put me on hold at least 4 times and for simple questions. Lastly, they are not open on Saturdays. The answer the new girl gave me was «we don’t have enough patients to be open on Saturdays.» Really? I’m pretty sure if they were open on Saturdays patients will come… SMH!

This office is FANTASTIC! I am always greeted by a smile. The appointment is always on time. The dentist comes in right away. The dental hygienist and assistants are caring and kind. I love that they always evaluate through x-​rays and photos — i feel very well taken care of. The visits are thorough yet timely and efficient. I couldn’t ask for anything more. Great team! Keep up the excellent work!

This is not by any stretch of the imagination the worst dental experience I’ve had; however, I would never return to Rainsprings Dental Group again.
The front desk folks were very nice. I showed up on time, filled out appropriate first timer paperwork and waited to be called back. It was about ten minutes after my appointment time that I got to go to the back, but that’s about normal.
X-​rays were, well, dental x-​rays. The technician was polite but nothing to write home to mom about. They took a full set of photos that in reality probably didn’t take but 10 minutes, but when you have that painful plastic doodad in your mouth it seems forever.
Then I went back to the exam room. The dentist came in, introduced himself to me, and immediately told me that I needed an implant to fill an empty slot from a bad baby tooth a few years back. This is what completely put me off to the whole place. No, «how do you do» or anything, just give me several thousand dollars please. He did go through why he thought that I needed something there and that there were several financing options that the others could discuss with me later but it was too late. Being slammed in the face with a multi thousand dollar price tag by a man who spent 5 minutes with me is just a tad off-​putting.
My hygienist however was the best hygienist I’ve ever had. She was gentle, thorough, and chatted the whole time without expecting you to respond while having a mouthful of instruments. She has lots of experience under her belt, 37 years exactly if I remember correctly.
After my teeth were cleaned the front desk guy, Sam, came back again and discussed my options for bridges and appropriate financing. He was polite, knowledgeable, and patient with my questions. He was awesome.
Overall it was a decent experience but nothing great. But like I said at the beginning, I will not be returning anytime soon.

Wow what a great dental group here! Efficient, professional, and very friendly. Everyone from the receptionist to the dentist, Dr Stokes, is fabulous. I needed a new dentist since moving to the Vegas area. Did a quick search online and this place popped up with good reviews. Picking a good doctor or dentist w/​o a recommendation can be hit or miss. Thankfully Rainsprings was a hit. They have a $ 49 teeth cleaning, exam, and X-​rays for new patients. You fill out your medical history on a computer they have set up there. It seriously takes 5 min and is only one page. So much easier than filling out pages of paperwork. I didn’t even wait 5 minutes and they called me back for X-​rays. After the X-​rays, Dr Stokes came in and did an exam. He’s very cool and immediately put me at ease. No issues with my teeth so it was time for the teeth cleaning. I can’t remember the woman’s name who cleaned them (younger, long dark hair) but she was friendly and outgoing. Great experience and a big relief to find such a caring dental practice!

Saw an intern who didn’t answer my questions. He kept having to leave and come back. I felt like I was not important enough to have someone with knowledge attend me. I will NEVER return!

I them the other day with a cracked tooth. Pricilla, got me right in. Was greeted by Jen, who made me feel very comfortable, throughout my visit. I saw Dr Stokes, who relieved me by telling me I just needed my tooth ground down, and was in and out in an hour. Loved Dr Stokes, he took his time and explained everything. They did not try and fast sell me on anything, and will be back for reqular cleaning. I have found my new Dentist!

I’ve gone to rainsprings for over 3 years now. I got my braces (love the ortho) and had some dental work done. The front office is fantastic and the office runs smoothly. No wait times, you are usually back in the chair with 5 minutes of your appointment. The lab that makes the crowns is spot on! I highly recommend!

It’s sad, I use to love these folks. Our son gets his orthodontic work done here but unfortunately they are not entirely honest. Today we went in for an appointment to get his retainer replaced (which took 3 weeks to schedule due to limited staffing lining up with available days off) and found that the lifetime warranty on the retainer does not seem to exist. The staff member who talked to me told me that it wasn’t covered since he was hit in the mouth with a football and the doctor said that he didn’t see any damage to the retainer but our son’s teeth had shifted. Strange that they had different stories but they both planned on charging us to replace it. Definitely going to be searching for a new orthodontist.

Rip off! Stay away. My first visit with them I was told I would need a deep cleaning which my insurance would cover 80% of. I was very specific about wanting verification that the 80% of my cleaning would be covered by my insurance before I got treatment. They verified that it would be, I paid my 20% balance upon leaving which was about $ 350. Soon after I get a bill from my insurance saying I owe $ 1091 …FOR A CLEANING!!! I called my insurance and they said they did not cover the premium X-​ray machine they are billing for. I called Rainsprings and they denied it saying they don’t charge more for their X-​rays, although it was in black and white on the bill. Non the less I was I was on unemployment at the time and it took my last dime to pay this bill. Thanks a lot Rainsprings Dental. $ 1441.00 total for a CLEANING. Outrageous.

Nice clean dental office & staff. But WAY OVER PRICED!!! $ 5000 for a single dental implant & crown? And the only dentist that does that comes in FROM LA and only works certain days… NO THANKS!

I was nervous about going to the Orthodontist for the first time because I needed Braces. As soon as I walked in, I felt like I was at home. The environment and people are fantastic. They are so friendly. The Orthodontist that I was helped by was Mr. Webster. He is a really nice gentleman and knows what he is talking about! My assistant was Donna. She was very friendly as well and very personable. The Benefits Coordinator, Jennifer helped me with my paperwork. I had a fantastic time here and will recommend this Dental Group as well as the Orthodontist to anyone.

I found out about this place because I used to go to their sister office in another location for my general dental cleanings and all that but lately I’ve been looking for an orthodontist and because I have CareCredit, I was able to find one that accepts both CareCredit AND my dental insurance. Everyone in their office is so friendly and patient, they’re just great! I’ve had three appointments here so far and my appointments are all on time, no excess or unnecessary waiting. My first exam was with my orthodontist, who surprisingly looks and sounds a lot like Paul Walker (RIP) lol, my second appointment was for my cleaning and X-​rays examination, and my third was to glue on these braces! I would definitely recommend this office to anyone else. Very helpful people here.

My experience with Rainsprings Dental was spectacular! I had a fancy new filling put in by Dr. Abalos and two wisdom teeth extracted by Dr. Sorensen.
The receptionists are extremely professional, prompt, and knowledgable.
Their dental assistants were very patient and thorough while taking my X-​rays with their top of the line equipment.
Dr. Abalos is a fabulous dentist! She explained everything to me in regular English, not dentist lingo. I could seriously go on and on about how sweet, gentile, friendly, and funny she is but let’s move on to the man who pulled my wisdom teeth in 30 minutes. The oral surgeon Dr. Sorensen. Amazing. His hands have been blessed by the gods.
I’m so glad I’ve found a dentist for life!

This review is for 2 Las Vegas Dental Groups in the same network at two different locations.
Dr. Masaki is a nice guy and I really wanted Durango Dental Group be my dental office in Las Vegas. They accept my insurance and I could technically walk to the office, the location was so convenient.
But being a nice person and being convenient does not outweigh the negative aspects of Durango Dental Group. The place is expensive, yet I still elected to have procedures done. A regular cleaning turns into a «new laser technology gum treatment.» Ok great I am all for new technology! But during a filling there was a point when I could tell something was not done right– by the whispers and hurried exchanging of dental tools and asking who set up the tray. That was concerning to me but I trusted things to be fixed competently regardless.
Unfortunately, the «new composite» filling material used fell out within 72 hours of my visit, in the middle of a long business trip way over on the other side of the country. I call immediately and am told to go to a drugstore and get temporary filling until I am back in town to get it fixed. No notes were taken over the phone by the receptionist. I have weeks of an exposed nerve and hyper-​sensitive gums that severely impacted eating and even speaking. When I am finally able to be seen to repair the damage I am asked the whole story over again because there were no notes taken. At that point I am frustrated and disappointed enough I do not trust this team to be my dentist or even fix their own mistake. I get a referral to Dr. Masaki’s «mentor» over at Rainsprings Dental Group for the next day. Well the appointment was scheduled incorrectly and the dentist I was sent to see, Dr. Stokes, is now saying that the WHOLE original filling needs to come out because he can’t fix the patch job the other dentist tried to do. And there is not enough time scheduled for the appointment because it was made as just a consultation. These businesses are all part of the same dental group in Las Vegas. The shoddy work, lack of communication, and overall incompetency and disconnect between these dentists and their receptionists and staff is why both of these dental practices are one star establishments in my opinion.

Came here a few weeks ago. So my experience was rather indifferent. I came here for a teeth cleaning to be covered by my dental plan. After the initial x-​rays, I was given sales pitch after sales pitch trying to sell me things I simply just don’t need, which by the way, aren’t covered by insurance conveniently. I rejected all offers and told them I don’t want to do anything not covered by the insurance. They are a nice dentist office, but the high pressure sales tactics made me feel as if I was in a timeshare meeting.
My wife never got her teeth cleaning and instead was told she needs several thousands of dollars worth of work. Very uncool and unprofessional.

The staff is so nice! My dentist and orthodontist are the best highly recommended! They definitely make going to the dentist more enjoyable. They also have reasonable payment options. Their sister office on blue diamond and Cimarron are also great!
