Amazing food and service. If you leave here without eating the Brussel sprouts, you’ve missed out!

Really good burger! Cooked to order and clearly a hand formed patty. Great bun, crispy and wonderful. Server was delightful and the old hotel is something to see.

Formerly the Landmark Grill, but definitely the same MO. A whole portion of the beer menu was suddenly not available anymore and the server bashed the brewery that had to close. The special was the only thing special about this place. The queso was a soupy mess, the wings which I asked for to be crunchy were not. My pork and chicken tacos came out as only chicken, and my burger came out charred when I ordered it medium. Sorry guys, but you definitely did not meet my expectations and I’m sure the proprietor Alan would not be happy with the performance. Maybe if I was a gringo in a cowboy hat we would have been offered some sort of recourse for the errors. This is definitely our last visit as out last was under the old name with Alan as the owner. Adiós Las Vegas!

The Plaza Hotel, along with its restaurant, have undergone a renovation. The Victorian décor has changed to contemporary, with Navaho rugs and original artwork on its walls. The menu reflects a more gourmet sensibility and is actually fun to read. It seems the restaurant has gone through at least two chefs so far in its new phase, and the newest is still finding his way. The results are mixed: a friend who had the bison burger pronounced it excellent, as did two others who had the stuffed sopapilla. Two friends ordered the chicken mole Oaxacan style. The mole sauce was excellent, but one friend’s chicken breast was dry. The pork tenderloin suffered the same issue: pork was over cooked, dry and tough, but the mango salsa added a sweet, refreshing contrast to the spicy pork. The potato cake served with the pork was reminiscent of breakfast hash browns. Calabacitas on the side tasted fine, but where was the corn? Perhaps a modern twist. Another time the lunch Caesar salad was drenched with dressing, but the Cobb was dressed perfectly. Service was spotty a few months ago but last night our server, Jorge, did an excellent job. Training and practice seem to be paying off. The new restaurant and its chef seem to be finding their way, but expect inconsistencies until the restaurant gets it right every time and not just once in a while.

We stayed at the Plaza for three nights. We were there to attend the annual Billy the Kid Outlaw Gang«reunion». Since some of the events were held in the Plaza, we ate one dinner, 2 breakfasts, and a banquet served in the library. All of our meals were good. The green chile stew was very tasty. Our eggs and hash brown breakfasts weren’t anything great, but they were not anything bad either. Our banquet was excellent. My wife had the salmon and I had the steak. Service was good at all four meals. The Plaza Hotel’s atmosphere definitely does not diminish your overall experience.

The Plaza Bistro was formerly the Landmark Grill in the Plaza Hotel. They are under new management. Reviews for the former restaurant were a little sketchy. We are staying at the Plaza Hotel and every employee here including everyone at the restaurant are incredibly friendly, always asking what they can do to help, as well as just talking/giving tourist advice if you want. Breakfast is served from 7 to 11am. We had huevos rancheros on blue corn tortillas with black beans and hash browns. Very good! I preferred the green chile; however one of my table mates really liked the red chile. Of course you could always order«Christmas» to get both. If you are staying at the hotel bring your coffee in from the free pot in the lobby, they happily refill the cups without having to buy another with breakfast. I know nothing about the quality of lunch or dinner; however., breakfast is a good choice.
