Had very bad experience. Girl who did my simple haircut even didn’t have proper scissors! When instructor asked her why she uses unappropriated tool she said hers were stolen. Ok, I understand that happened but my hair shouldn’t suffer!
Although I explained very well what I wanted, still haircut was too short and not even what I asked. I had to trim it at home myself.
Girl who did my haircut tried her best, she was nice I cant complain but beware some students (like mine) did it for the first time! Oh well, tough luck. Sadly I had bad experience, no more risking. Probably go to Supercuts next time.

This is the best place to come if you want cheap but amazing work done. I come here just because how much fun it is. They know what there doing and there always a professor there if needed. Any holiday I get it styled up. Only problem is the hours it take since there students, so I can’t really plan my day.
I found a girl name by Laila and let me just say she is amazing with pastel and vibrant colors. Love her.

It seems impossible to try and schedule an appointment because the phones are never answered. So I tried to do a walk-​in and requested my friend and was told to schedule an appointment, I then politely advised them that I’ve tried to call multiple times but no one answered the phone and this was my encounter with the two ladies in the front. One of them seemed very frustrated with other things and let it be known and I thought was very unprofessional. I ended up leaving the building. For my first impression, I’m pretty displeased with the service I’ve received walking thru the door.

This was my second time getting my hair done here. I does take long since you are working with students so make sure you book time to sit and wait.

This place is the best! I always ask for Erica Herwander because she has a ton of regular clients and she’s in phase 2.

Very happy to say after frequenting PMS for a couple years… I found my girl. The perfect stylist for me. I knew she was graduating soon I made one more appointment with her to REALLY make sure she was the one and, obviously, get a great PM cut and color at a great price. The day came! I get to PM, check in and sit to wait… I don’t see her. Other guests are checking in and being paired with stylists. After a good 10 – 15 minutes I am approached and I hear the bittersweet words «She graduated last week.» Not willing to put my hands into another’s hands, I leave, crushed, upset I missed her by a week and upset they flubbed on a scheduling error like this.
The next day I am more gathered and I call PMS. I explain my experience from the afternoon before, I leave my info and they promise to call her and get My Girl in touch with me. My faith in PMS is restored!
A couple weeks pass, and she never reaches out. Again, I am saddened with PMS thinking they dropped the ball again– «why wouldn’t they want their students to create client relationships?» … but then… a miracle! My Girl finally texts me! She graduated and got a job at a salon in Henderson even closer and more convenient to me.
Although, I have outgrown hair cuts at Paul Mitchell School, I am so thankful they provided me with the best stylist for my hair needs! What could have been a poor experience was SAVED!

Cierra in phase 2 did a great job with my highlight and cut!!! She was attentive, friendly, and listened to my needs! My wedding was coming up so I had special requests for the cut and she executed it perfectly! I would recommend her for sure and will be returning to her for my next apt!

I have gone here to get my hair cut by someone at random each time and all turned out great! The teachers really do a great job of checking up on the students guiding them in the right direction. I love getting my hair done here and getting to know the students along the way! I will continue to go back! $ 15 haircut. How can you beat that?!

I thought I could at the very least get a semi ok hair cut? I only give 2 stars because I could tell the student really wanted to do a good job. I graduated from cosmetology school 22 years ago and we all had to practice on someone. Besides this is suppose to be a prestigious school. I knew I could fix almost anything and the instructor would do a final check? How things have changed. I felt sorry for the student doing my hair cut. She was instructed to do a «Box» cut? I guess this is the same as a 45deg angle? So she did cut the back. After that another instructor came and blended the back to the crown. That was basically the end of her instruction. She must not have many hours of instruction under her belt because she did not realize, nor was she instructed to cut the top, sides or bangs. I had to help her with that. Nor had she been shown how to check the over all hair cut. An instructor never came back to check the hair cut either. When I asked for the back to be thinned, the instructor took the thinning shears and massively thinned it to frog fur. Needless to say, I came home and recut the whole thing. It will grow back out, but it looks to me that the students are getting ripped off or they are letting them do practical instruction too soon. Finally, for the cost of the school, they should expect a higher level of instruction.

I really enjoyed my visit with Meg in phase 2. She was professional and very thorough. My hair needed color correction from some bad self coloring I did on a whim. I’ve had almost black hair for over 7 months and I couldn’t stand it anymore. Meg spent 5 hours with me and I ended up with a much better color and a great cut. Although I spent quite a bit of money here, I know it was a fraction of what it would have been at a regular salon. I will be back!

I am so disappointed. I have been to Paul Mitchell several times and have not had a bad experience except for tonight. I have had my hair cut and colored plenty of times in my life and have never had it turn out so opposite of what I wanted until tonight. The student was great. She is going to be amazing when she graduates. Her instructor was awful. She wasn’t very present as it was phase 2. But when she did come to help she did not communicate with me properly. Even the student verbalized that the toner that the instructor chose was too dark but the instructor was not attentive. I intended to have a cut and a color and left with only a color that I did not want. The instructor unenthusiastically told me that she said in the beginning I may not have time for a cut but NO she never communicated that to me. She did not want to own up to any of her mistakes. There was no regard for customer satisfaction and she was not sincere at all as she gave me a poor excuse for the miscommunication. To her it was a misunderstanding but no it was a complete lack of communication. At the end of the color they showed me my bill which was about $ 50 more than she originally told me. And that was without the cut I expected! She then told me they used extra bowls. Why was that not communicated before using them? I would have told them not to; I was not planning for that. Worst experience ever and now I’m stuck with a color I don’t want. She said when you wash your hair it will lighten. I don’t expect to come to a hair salon and leave with having to wash it so it will lighten. I expect to pay for what I wanted or at least closer to what I wanted.

Best haircut and color of my life. Love this place. The students are so welcoming, polite and courteous. The teachers are amazing, they strive to make clients as happy as possible. I came here after being frustrated with either sub par work from other stylists or the ridiculous prices some salons charge. I’m not ok with $ 60 for haircut and $ 200 – 300 for color.
The scalp massage is amazing and I love how honest they are with you. If you ask for something that cannot be done, they tell you the reasons why it will not be possible, unlike other salons that will say yes we can do it and you come out looking like rainbow bright. I would recommend asking for a phase 2 student as opposed to a phase 1 student, phase 1 students seem to be very lost and nervous about what they are doing.

Hands down this is the best haircut and color I have ever had! A little background… I am 52 and I have colored my own hair successfully for many years. Unfortunately I changed my normal color and went darker. It was way too dark! I am naturally fairly dark but at my age it felt a wee bit goth. I tried to just color it my old color but the dark just stayed too dark. I travel full time in my Rv and after getting some outrageously expensive quotes from several salons, I decided to see what Paul Mitchell the School salon could do for me. I knew I was coming to Vegas so I found them on Unilocal and made an appointment a week ahead of my arrival. I wish I could remember my stylists name but I can’t. She was extremely professional and her instructor was as well, going over the risks, cost, etc. To sum it up, I spent a quarter of what I would have spent in a salon and walked away happier then I have ever been with a color and a cut! Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed. I posted a photo of my color and cut too.

I have been going there to get my hair colored for awhile with the same stylist who recently graduated. When I went back I got a new student and she was great. I got my hair colored in mid December and my hair now looks like I never got it done. My grays are showing and it hasn’t even been a month. My color would usually last about 8 weeks. I called the school and the lady admitted they probably didn’t put the color in long enough but that there is nothing they can do unless I went back in 10 days from the day I got my hair done. In other words since the 10 days have passed I need to pay for the service that was done incorrectly the first time?! I will never be back! I basically paid to get my hair done and have it all wash out…

I always have a great experience here — Great Service. I always get many compliments on my hair. I am a fan!

Swung by here because of all the horrible stories of all the other cosmetology schools in town and met with Katelynn to talk about coming to the school. Everyone was so friendly!!! The environment was so clean and everything organized. I definitely felt very welcome and will hopefully be starting classes by January 6^th! Definitely excited!

The ladies who did my hair today (Leah, Crystal, Catherine) were amazing and went above and beyond what most salons would do in order to give me the hair I wanted. Leah, my main student, was exceptional and so attentive. I felt pampered and gorgeous when I left and I will definitely continue to give my business to them!

Don’t waste you’re money these rookies do a horrible job I had 3 different people working on my hair because the original one wanted to go have lunch with her bf so she left my color half ways

I wanted to change my brown ombré to purple. The student (who is graduating in a month) dyed my hair 3 times (wash and blow dry after each), and it looks nothing like the example picture I showed her. Over 6 hours later, my hair just looks black (slightly red color in the light), my beautiful ombré is gone and covered up, and my hair is damaged. They at least gave me a discount and a free conditioning treatment, but my long, pretty hair is ruined.

This was by far one of the Very Best Hair Appts I’ve had in an incredibly long time, so much so I’m still raving about Ruthann today! It’s always good service and great pricing at The Paul Mitchell School but Ruthann is a hidden gem and I’m sooo excited to have found her and will be requesting her from now on! She did an excellent job from beginning to end and was such a joy as a plus to the visit! Who can ask for more from a visit than excellence in service from your stylist and a great personality. She was very outgoing and friendly, and she really took the time to talk with me and give me exactly what I wanted. I’ve been there a few times and none of the other stylists that I’ve had can compare to her. Thanks again Ruthann!

I have been at PMTS twice now, and I am enormously impressed with the entire experience. The salon is clean, neat, fresh-​smelling, and well-​decorated, and the receptionists are professionally dressed and groomed as well as extremely helpful. In one instance, I had a hair disaster that required some tricky maneuvering to get color right, and both the student and leader took a great deal of time, consultation, and questioning to make sure they were doing what I was hoping they would. Best of all, they actually listened to my answers, rather than just nodding and doing what they felt like. The cost was very inexpensive, especially relative to the time they took in doing it. I would definitely recommend them again, and I will absolutely come in again.

Had my hair royally screwed up by a Paul Mitchell graduate (see my other review). Had a consult today with the school. They felt certain they could lighten my entire head from a nice color correction I did on myself.
Five hours and several processes later (including bleach), I LEFT WITH THE SAME HAIR COLOR I ENTERED THE SCHOOL WITH! Except now it’s an over-​processed mess! She bleached me up and I was a beautiful blonde, then she proceeded to darken my hair back to what I WALKED IN WITH now with green sections of hair! I repeatedly told her not to use an ash tone in my hair.
I also had two bleach burns on my scalp from where she forgot to wash it off!
The supervisor, Brent, was livid with me for not finding it beautiful! He slammed down my receipt on the dressing stand and walked away! Very unprofessional, bitchy attitude.
Went back the next day in tears to speak with the manager, Whitney. She offered free treatments on my hair. When I went to schedule a treatment, she completely lied about our verbal agreement, charging full price. Unethical, deceitful business!
Do not go here!!!

Scheduled a haircut with a level 2 student. The school/​salon is decorated very nice and very clean. Felt like a higher end salon not like the typical beauty school settings (although of course they have a bunch of stations in one room because it’s a school). Overall I like my haircut and she took it from an a-​line to the opposite/​standard length just like I asked. She would confirm her cutting plan w/​the instructor before just chopping away. But I was disappointed that my level 2 student who was graduating in 10 days didn’t know how to cut bangs! I had a picture of how I wanted them AND gave a verbal description. While I was thankful she didn’t chop away if she wasn’t confident, the instructor came to cut them and even she didn’t cut them the way I described. The student kind of fixed them, but overall it was not the best «bang» cut I’ve had.

I’ve always had pretty good luck here. It’s true that services can take a long time. Students are working on your hair, and they mostly aren’t at professional level yet. But the prices are really affordable.
Generally I get cuts and color retouch here. When I find someone amazing, then I will request her and discuss trying something a little more complex. The learning leaders are always circling the salon and usually seem to jump in if the student is struggling.
I’ve been a client here for probably 4 years though and, like I said, I’ve always been pleased.

Thank you for a great experience, Robert, Regel, Tara, and Kit! I came in with confidence and doubt at the same time because my hair is so difficult to deal with. Tara gave me great options and I went with highlights. I’m glad I did, I have something different done by student professionals who are super careful about what they are doing and have be excellent guidance.
Just so you know, I had used boxed. Color for years and it’s finally backfired. My hair was half black, half Brown! I wanted to have the hair colors stripped so I could start over, but then I would not have the highlight s blended in as I do now.
I now can come back when I’m ready to gradually go bolder with my color. This is the third Paul Mitchell school I’ve been to, and the fifth visit of mine here, always leaving satisfied. Thanks! I highly recommend you see the people I’ve mentioned above.

I’ve been to both the Aveda School and Paul Mitchell. I think from now on I’ll stick with Aveda. Student I had literally was trembling the whole time cutting my hair. I understand wanting to do a good job, but was she ready to cut hair? And when her instructor told her how to do the cut, and showed her… she still did it a different way. And I still had to go home and cut one side, because it was longer. I just think maybe they need more instruction.
Sorry Paul Mitchell… gonna give my biz to Aveda from now on. :(

I went 2 years without touching my hair with anything sharp after a terrible cut at a franchise salon but alas, today it was high time for a change, and change I got. Before I say anything else, my hair was so long that I would end up sitting on it if it was behind my shoulders. My hair is my pride and joy, it’s my life, it’s my third arm. That said, I wasn’t opposed to going to a hair school to get rid of my third arm. I grew up watching hair students color and perm my mothers hair at a hair school in my hometown, and even had my hair cut and colored (for the first time!) there when I was younger.
So today, I went into this school with ample confidence. To start, it’s very sleek inside. Great first impression, and the girls at the reception desk were very kind and informative. And the scalp massage while washing my hair? Amazing. I wanted to close my eyes and fall asleep. Not to mention the dynamic inside; sitting in a chair for awhile, you do a lot of people watching and I really liked the way the students seemed so at ease with their clients and among each other. It’s a very good vibe, I saw lots of smiles and heard a good amount of laughter, which just makes the experience so much better.
Jenny was my stylist and she’s incredible. I have A LOT of hair and still had some cold feet about how much I wanted off but she did a fab job. I don’t know what kind of magic she and her instructor pulled to cut my hair like this but I’m in love with it, and I’ve already booked an appointment with Jenny for color next week.
It does take some time to get your hair done here but I mean, it comes with the territory — it’s a school, after all. Personally I’ve never loved the «quick snip and out the door,» kind of places anyway, so I appreciate the time that was taken to ensure my hair didn’t come out a mess.
Overall, I had an amazing experience here today and I’m already itching to cut some more off! Definitely excited to go back next week.

First & Foremost, I strongly suggest the student by the name of Heather Vaughn. She helped save my hair from absolutely being scrutinized.
I will NEVER take any chances with my hair again. I had the most perfect natural hair color, and I decided to get an ombré look. I went in to the school hoping for the best. I walked out as a blonde… I honestly don’t even feel like there is a need to go into detail about how upset I am and how horrible this place is, but please do not take your hair here. Do NOT risk it, it’s not worth the heartbreak im dealing with now.

I came here knowing that it’s a school and that a student would be working on my hair under the supervision of an instructor. But I just wanted an all over color. I requested a phase 2 student, they have to take a specific test that is supposedly difficult so I guess they’re more experienced but I was in and out within 2 hours and that was with a curl styled blow dry. I was impressed.
The color came out great, not as red as I wanted but it’s still way better than what I had before. And it was inexpensive.
Overall I would say if you’re looking for an all over color, come here. But if you want a fancy highlight/​lowlight or haircut, just remember they’re students and still learning. Go to another pm salon if you want it done quickly.
