After dinner at the Seasons buffet the kids wanted to check out the fish tank. It was a nice surprise we got to see the Mermaids and the kids loved it! This attraction is great for the whole family and the mermaids are really playful with all the kids! If you haven’t been here you at least have to check it out at least once.

Loved the Mermaid show at the Silverton Casino. It’s definitely unusual and creative! Great show, free for the family and the Mermaid Restaurant & Lounge’s food was not too bad either. Their menu offers American food choices — we tried the fried calamari and shrimp salad. The calamari was a bit disappointing since it’s stale and soggy, the shrimp salad was good, maybe a little too much sauce. Overall, the biggest attraction is definitely the mermaid show — should definitely check their showtimes before going. The casino itself offers $ 5 blackjack and texas holdem poker tables — great alternative to the expensive strip casinos.

When I first walked into the bar I loved the interior and the fact you could see the fish tank that had mermaids swimming in it. I was then disappointed by the service at the restaurant. Our waitress was very rude from the beginning and she took forever to even get our drinks. She was to busy watching tv at the bar standing around. During the middle of our dining experience we had a new waitress come up saying she was going to take over our table because our first waitress was going home. Come to find out our first waitress was still there waiting on tables. We finished our food and had our empty plates sitting there for a good 20 minutes before they even came up to us. The new waitress said to me «you look like you’re ready to leave». During paying she came up while we were still getting our cash out. This was the worst dining experience I’ve had. I would never recommend it to anyone. If I could give a tip to management it would be to hire people who actually have good people skills and come to work to work.

To be honest, we only go to show people in town the mermaids. I’ve never eaten here and usually just gamble instead of buying a drink. I think if I was in town for business and wanted to avoid the Strip, this would be a great bar to grab drinks and chat. Classy but casual all at the same time.

This is one of my fav casino bars. It’s right off the casino floor, but feels so much classier and cooler than other casino bars. It’s definitely got more ambiance and neat-o décor going for it. You can sit at the bar and gamble to get a free drink, all while watching jelly fish behind the bar and fish and sharks in the aquarium to the side of the bar. And bonus, they have some decent beers on tap. And you can get a front row seat for the fish feedings and mermaid shows. And it’s almost never crowded. In fact, it’s usually practically empty every time I’ve gone. I love a good theme. And this bar is excellent place to enjoy an underwater /mermaid theme.

Horrible service. Waited hasn’t come over since 5:15pm its 7:30pm. Totally ridiculous. Party of 10 and have to go to the bar and no service. So sad!!! Won’t be back here

Horrible service, menus never provided. Had to go to bar for drinks rather than server checking table.

Under da sea! Ok, free live mermaid swimming in an aquarium with real fish. It’s not cirque du soleil, but it’s a very cool memory. Great for the kids and adults like myself who are obsessed with mermaids. We sat in the bar area and had some drinks to kill time till the next show. Mermaids rotate between their shows. There is a scuba diver at the bottom to make sure everything goes on safely. Kudos for that. The children have a field day with this. Make sure to call or email for the showtimes.

This is not a review for the lounge’s food and drinks, but rather for its attraction: MERMAIDS! I recommend calling ahead to check the schedule of when these lovely maidens make an appearance in the aquarium tank. This is a great place for families to visit — come on, the kids love mermaids! The aquatic maidens are able to breathe through the oxygen lines in the tank, and they can interact with the audience. A great place to stop by with those with kids or with people who want to see mermaids! :)

I’m not one to hang out in lounges and bars but this little place is more like sitting in a giant aquarium. It’s a decent place to grab a comfy seat and watch the fish swim back and forth. There’s a cool-ish vibe to this lounge. It’s dark and has a great view of the beautiful aquarium. The bar snacks here are good, I love when they have the deep fried Twinkies(yeah, I said it) on the menu. The bad things about Mermaid Lounge is that it is SUPERSMOKY(as with most places located right smack dab in the middle of the casino) and it can get very loud. Not really worth a special trip to go here but if you love fish and aquariums, you’ll get a kick out of sipping your house wine at this bar.

Fish Fry and Fish Tacos go great with Video Poker and comp’d Beer. Friendly bartenders and great views of the fish tank and other scenery. Will come again for sure.

They did not have the salmon stir fry as listed on the menu. I’m sure they have salmon in the Silverton, so I don’t get why they couldn’t make it. I will probably not try to order food here again. The bar is a decent place to hang out, and the«nautical» décor is a winner in my book. Service was OK, though I’ve noticed that the Silverton overall does a poor job at having consistent(as in good) service.

We came here after I Unilocaled«Unique Bar» in our area, but we knew there was a chance it wouldn’t be the type of joint we wanted to hang out in. The Mermaid Lounge is an attractive looking bar inside the Silverton Casino and Lodge with a decent number of people hanging out, but you can do better in Vegas a little too easily. Honestly, everything other than the fish tank in this place is basically mediocre. As a note, they don’t serve food except Thurs-Sunday, and their beers are a little more expensive than the average place in an off-strip bar. Our bartender was average, though he did nothing in particular wrong. Additionally, three of the TVs over the bar were on blank screens for whatever reason. Finally, no mermaids, but we didn’t expect any on a Tuesday night.

Located inside Silverton Casino, it’s a great spot to escape the heat and/or stop by for lunch on your way home. The Mermaid show failed to impress, but the food? Worth checking out! We ordered: Chips & Salsa– Comes with 2 types of salsa and guacamole. You can taste how fresh everything were prepared. I just can’t stop eating it. Fried Calamari– there were huge! Love the batter used to deep fried the sucker. There’s so much on a plate, you really don’t need to order anything else really… Fish Tacos– You get 3 huge tacos! Huge pieces of cod, sour cream, topped with shredded cabbage and fresh salsa. More Chips, Salsa, & Guacamole also accompanied this dish so that was a lot of food! Seats were comfortable and so close to the bathroom. You can sit and relax while people surf and admire the mermaids in the tank. Cool spot.

What could possibly be better than lounging in this seemingly decorated underwater oasis, checkin’ out the beautiful mermaid in this massive aquarium or being mesmerized by the jelly fish tank above the bar? Uhh…awesome Grey Goose vodka dirty martinis — «Gretzky» style(shaken so hard that there’s a layer of floating ice) & having it served by beautiful«mermaid» servers with big… …bright smiles. Ahhhh…now that’s better!

Ehhhh… Hubby and I have been here several times and once or twice we even brought a friend. Once I sat alone and gamed at the bar. Once I brought a friend and his wife here(they were from out of town). Every time it’s the same thing… YOUGETIGNOREDANDHAVETOFLAGSOMEONEDOWN. If you sit in the chairs along the tank area, sit in the chairs near the lower game tables or sit up at the bar… YOUGETIGNORED. I remember this did not happen a few years ago. Maybe they are having staffing problems? Seriously, feeding money into a slot on the floor at Silverton will get you better service than at this bar area… which is disappointing to me. Anyway…the latest round of drinks were at table near the game tables. After 20+ minutes sorry I did not keep track but yes… it was too long. We order drinks and hubby wants to order food. Easy enough… it was 8pm on a Tuesday night… nope. She explained we need to order right away because they are not serving food. She handed us a menu and stood there waiting. Ok… hubby chose nachos something simple and he said no meat. After maybe ½ an hour and empty water glasses she came back with the nachos(which had meat) sat them down and left. Hubby said they were cold and the chips were stale. No side plate(maybe we are sharing) no napkins and no silverware. No water refills and no drink seconds. We had to flag her down and she seemed irritated. Keep in mind WEARETHEONLYPEOPLEINMERMAIDLOUNGE. This place is a joke. A consistent joke. Honestly after over an hour and a half wait at Mi Casa for our food last time… MAYBE we will go to Twin Creeks in the future(we love that place). Otherwise we are writing off Silverton. There are tooooooo many choices here in Vegas to be jerked around at this casino… I just looked at their info is says they have food until 10pm at the timeslot we were there. Fail. We will not go back. One star for the seating and one star for the view of the tank. Otherwise a zero would be more appropriate. Sad.

This review is for the mermaid experience only, as we didn’t dine or drink here: My 6 year old daughter is a mermaid fanatic so, of course, this was a must see for her while we were vacationing in Vegas! She was not disappointed! The mermaid who was there was awesome! She stayed for about 30 minutes, she posed for pics with your kid where it looked like she was beside your child even though she was behind the glass. She did this awesome trick like she was blowing smoke rings but it was with water, I’ve never seen anything like it in my life! She did all sorts of tricks & flips & just really put on an awesome show! Very interactive with the kids! This was definitely worth the short drive away from the strip! Thank you for the very interesting free show! It was my daughters favorite part of Vegas!

I didn’t know exactly what I was getting with this place. Something like the mermaid shows at Weeki Wachi Springs, maybe? My friend and I showed up to check out a mermaid convention being held in the hotel – gorgeous women(and some men) in elegant fish tails, sunbathing in the pool. We figured, «Hey, if these are the amateurs, the professional mermaids must be AMAZING…» Yeah, well, we were wrong. First off, the girls they get for this attraction wear full body suits, their tails look kinda… cheap… and then they’re wearing goggles and nose clips. I figure the water’s probably refrigerated and not really not really conducive to nearly naked underwater ballet. Their shows are every 15 minutes(during certain hours of the day) and last maybe 5 minutes, at most. The tank, which contains rays and fish, is filled with oxygen hoses. The girls are lowered into and lifted out of the pool on a swing-like seat. Once they’re in the water, they swim for the oxygen hoses and then hang at the bottom and just wave at the kids until the swing appears in the water again, and they make a mad dash for it, sit on it, and get pulled out of the water. No tricks, no twirls or spins or loops or anything, just breathing through a hose and waving at the bottom where only the kids and their parents mobbing the tank could see. They only put one girl in the tank for each«show.» Really, the whole illusion had no chance. Basic things like keeping the toes pointed and not poking out were just forgotten. It just looks like a semi-miserable person trapped in a tank with her legs together until she can leave. I’d have gotten a drink at the bar, but there wasn’t anyone manning it. Seriously, the Bass Pro Shop adjacent to the tank was FAAAAAAAAR more interesting. The sole redeeming quality of this place is the jelly fish tank above the bar with the metal-looking, mermaid statue. If you want a free show that’s just as cheesy, if not better, just hang around the Midway at Circus Circus.

I have always really enjoyed this bar. The waitresses all wear funky ABBA-inspired outfits and there are great drink and food specials. I come from time to time with friends and enjoy the aquarium quite a bit(especially my favorite little fish who I’ve affectionately named Bob). The service is pretty good most days, but can get iffy from time to time. I especially frequent the place during the Thursday night pub crawls Silverton hosts, with $ 1 drinks. I highly recommend this cool little respite.

I was here very late one night with my friends and decided I wanted a cold drink, I wasn’t playing blackjack or slots so I couldn’t get a free one. When I walked up to the bar at 1am I was told that he was closing up and the bar was closed. What?! It’s 1am!!! and it’s Vegas!!! Totally baffled by the early close. I understand they are located inside of the Silverton, which is off the strip but still, if I was back in SF I would be able to go to any bar at 1am and get a drink. I look forward to visiting again, hopefully they will be open for business then. Very pretty though, the chairs were very comfy and the sea life was nice to look at.
