Las Vegas Recovery Center

Our family has gone through LVRC and I want to recommend them to anyone trying to get help for addiction. The facilities, staff, and food is very good. Our son celebrated 9 years of sobriety and we are FOREVER thankful to this Center that gave him his life back and in turn, gave us a life to enjoy with him. We almost lost him two times over the years and we can no celebrate his life!

I give their holistic Pain Recovery Program 5 stars, but their entire program has improved dramatically in the 11 years they have been in business. Las Vegas Recovery Center has a new CEO, Johanna O’flaherty, PhD who formerly worked for Betty Ford Center. Her focus is on clinical excellence and treating trauma along side addiction. They continue to make updates to their facility, have an extremely dedicated staff, are involved in their community and are committed to an intimate healing setting and providing long-​term support for their clients through their alumni association. Their 10 year old chronic pain treatment program has grown and improved substantially. They are one of, if not he only, pain program (s) to publish their program outcome averages on their website here:
programs are still led by Mel Pohl. He is well known and respected throughout the field of addiction. I know many people who have thanked him personally. He has gained a lot of respect from forward thinking medical experts for maintaining his stance that opiates are not a cure for chronic pain and there are better ways to treat chronic pain than treating opiates. Anyone who knows anything about chronic pain treatment knows the field is gravitating towards programs like the one he created a decade ago. While Las Vegas Recovery Center is a highly qualified addiction treatment facility, there simply is no more comprehensive holistic chronic pain treatment program out there. If you have chronic pain and would like to stop taking prescription medication and want to get your life back, this is where you should go. If you are close to Las Vegas, NV and want the best addiction treatment doctor in the state, there is noone more qualified than Mel Pohl in Las Vegas.

Today marks the one year anniversary of my boyfriend’s sobriety.
We couldn’t have done it without Las Vegas Recovery Center… well, maybe we could have, but we’ll never know!
This review is from my perspective… the spouse/​partner/​loved one/​whatever you want to call it of an addict.
The facilities were clean and well-​maintained and the atmosphere was serene.
The staff was friendly, understanding, informative and supportive not only to my boyfriend, but to me as well. They made me feel comfortable leaving my best friend, the father of my child, there. And treatment never really stops. They have semi-​annual alumni picnics as well as different functions and sessions throughout the year. They offer support for family members… that’s one thing I learned «addiction is a disease that effects the entire family).
Bottom Line:
Sometimes you need to recognize that you can’t do things by yourself. It took me 2 years to realize that. I would highly recommend Las Vegas Recovery Center to anyone who is an addict or who knows an addict that wants to «get better».
