Las Vegas Ice Center

I’m from Chicago and decided to do all three open skates on a Saturday while I was visiting Vegas. I’m no stranger to ice rinks. First impressions was meh. Lobby is kinda small, the hockey shop is larger than most, so a plus. I didn’t check the prices to compare unfortunately. The staff was friendly. Admission price was higher than in Chicago, 8 dollars (with skates), I guess thats because theres not many options in Vegas to skate. Session length was 2 hours. Thats actually longer than most in Chicago. I’m kind of jealous. I only got to skate in the south rink. I was not impressed. Ice was very fast and it was DIRTY. They seriously need to repaint the ice. You can barely see the face off circles. Can’t even make out the logo at center. The ice was stained grey in some areas. I don’t know if south is the rink that gets abused purposefully or what because North was looking much better. The ice was not to my liking. As I learned before, not alot of people can skate in Vegas. There was alot of people falling around and I felt like I was going through and asteroid field. Didn’t help that there was little kids who played hockey skating around as fast as they could and they too even kept falling, one of them collided with a girl. The walkers they provide people are probably what dirty the ice, and they are pretty big. Another in many obstacles for me. In one of the public skate sessions, It was completely a cosmic skate. I didn’t expect it to be at all. I don’t know if I missed something or what. I’m being really critical here, but I did meet some cool people that made the experience much more enjoyable. The negatives aren’t killers but they are worth taking off 1.5 stars. Id give this place a 3.5÷5 for an open skate specialist like me. It seems like a great place to skate for a Vegas local however, theres not many options.

I love this place. Lots of walkers to assist people who do not know who to ice skate. They have other things like ice skating lessons, ice hockey, snack area, shop, and lockers. The only down side is I wish it was open longer to the public.

We do a trip here monthly. Brought my 7 year old brother and cousin out to skate. usually pretty mellow for the smaller kids on Sunday. My brother loves coming here. Music is pretty good too. They usually have three hours of public skating on Sunday and then the do events and practices.

Just had an amazing experience skating in Las Vegas. Super nice and friendly adult skate session (coffee club). Probably the best experience I’ve had in 15 years! The atmosphere was so welcoming and friendly, I went back a second day… and was greeted by name by the other skaters. I never experienced that in all my years skating. Totally wished I lived here!

What I like about Las Vegas Ice Center is that they allow you to host fundraisers to help raise funds. More business for them and more money for us, it’s a win-​win situation! The Ice Center has 2 skating arenas, but when I went, one of the arenas was closed for a curling match.
For $ 10, you get a pair of skates to use and can skate for however long you want. The bad is that they run out of sizes if you don’t get there early enough. I found that if you wear a size 6.5 in womens, you can squeeze into the size 5 skates! There are a couple of benches where you can leave your belonging and shoes. Make sure you remember where you leave them and I wouldn’t bring any shoes you’re scared of losing since people are just piling them up under the benches.
I went on a Friday and it was full of high schoolers! I would avoid going that day because those kids can get pretty rowdy and you don’t wanna lose your cool while trying to have fun. The ice rink is big and for the most part, everyone goes around smoothly. It gets really cold when you’re inside the rink, so bring a jacket and whatever else you may need to keep warm. After going around a few times, my ankles were sore! Not sure if it’s because I used the wrong size skates or I got a major work out on muscles I didn’t even know existed.
I like that they have a concessions bar inside too! I was able to try the oreo churro with vanilla or maybe cream cheese frosting and it was delicious! They made it to order, which took about 4 minutes, but well worth it!
I also heard my friends say they were going to the bar located on the other side of the skating rink that was closed off for the curling match. I didn’t have the chance to check it out, but it’s nice to know there are also adult options!

Price was ok. I believe 10.00 per a person. Open skate night is a nightmare! Toe pick holes everywhere!!! everyone had the same problem. Ice was horrible!!! I fell as well. not enjoyable with the smell as well. lighting was bad too.

Two sheets of real good ice. Well maintained and full size. Limited facilities for spectators. But plenty of convenient parking and a helpful & friendly young staff. The pro shop is alright but only if you are interested hockey. Surprisingly better than average rental skates but since most rental are usually awful, I’m not sure what that really says

Came here to give ice skating a try, my GF has been begging to go so that’s what we did. We called ahead to make sure there was open skating available, which there was. When we arrive, to our surprise, it was teen skate night. LOL. Just what we wanted, to be skating in an overcrowded rink with a bunch of high school punks listening to some awful music played by a DJ. The girl behind the counter giving the skates was extremely rude. The only enjoyable experience I had was when I took my skates off and left the front door. And to top it off, this place smelled like a stinky gym locker room.

Getting some skates for me and the boys. We tried skating in Downtown Summerlin and the rental skates were terrible. We came here because it’s the only place that sells ice skates in Las Vegas. Staff was super helpful. Got 4 new pies of skates for me my wife and the boys.

Great place to skate as long as there are no birthday parties. If you have kids or need a walker if you’re a beginner, call ahead of time — walkers get rented out sometimes due to parties. But overall good family outing.

Dress for the occasion by wearing a jacket and gloves. Also tie your skates really tight. The rink will be as great or as boring as you want to make it.
I came here on a Friday morning for the «Adult Coffee Club» skate time. This was perfect because only people 21 and over were allowed to be on the rink. This my friends is a dream come true. I didn’t have to worry about tripping over little kids and I was able to enjoy myself in the company of other adults.
With a $ 7 admission to the rink and $ 2 skate rentals, this was a well worth value. I did not try and food here, so I can’t critique the selection. In fact, the food area wasn’t even open during my 11:30am to 12:45pm visit.
The rink was nice and smooth because we came early in the day. Because we did not choose a peak time to visit, the crowd was no more than 12 people. A visitor even spent time trying to teach our friend how to skate. Wacky hilarious music such as «la la la bomba» played during our skate and set the mood for fun. When the skate allotment time was over, there was no guards pressuring us to get off the ice. We were able to transition off of the ice and onto our feet without feeling hassled. We truly appreciated this.
My only true complaint is that most of the lockers outside of the skate rinks are quarter sucking duds. Next time I will walk in barefoot with socks on my hand rather than trying to lock up my shoes.
I know my husband and I will be sure to come back again soon.

Great fun with friends and family! It’s a really good price, 10 bucks for 2 hours and rental skates. Also if someone doesn’t know how to skate you can rent them a walker for only 3 bucks. Overall, it’s value is great and it is tons of fun for anyone!

When it comes to ice skating, we don’t have many choices on where to go here in Las Vegas. You either have to go here or the SoBe Ice Arena. Of course, Las Vegas Ice Center is my choice because it is closer.
I believe it is around $ 10 for admission and skate rentals and if you have your own skates, you save around $ 2. They always have public skating times posted on their website, which is awesome. Not every week is the same and I think public skating happens more often during the holiday season.
I’m not a really good skater but I do like to go once in a while to see if I could improve each time I go. Learning how to stop, learning how to skate backwards, etc. This place gets busy during the weekend and there are certain days and times that you would probably want to avoid unless you want to throw up on the side of the ice.
Friday nights and Saturday nights are probably the times to avoid for public skating. Instead of hanging out at a mall or movie theatre, teens like to go ice skating. What’s wrong with that? Oh nothing. They’re just making out in the middle of the ice rink rather than a corner. I suppose some people would like to watch that unfold but I guess I’m just not into that. They have to make it a little bit more exciting for me to actually want to watch that. if you know what I mean HAHA. I mean, fighting on the ice rink is more entertaining than making out. Jeez.
They have snacks for you to buy and hot drinks as well. They can also host birthday parties. Overall, it’s a decent place. It’s got ice rinks, public skate times, skate rentals, and snacks. A-​Okay. Nothing special. Nothing horribad.

Cudos to the management for putting together such great programming for our youth… Parties and learning to skate and hockey programs are fantastic!!! Century I doing a fantastic job… This feels like home for my kids and I… I love the games and the snack bar is well done… Lots of choices… Now you can even have a kosher party!!! Who knew???

Although a bit of a drive from us in Henderson, this ice rink was perfect for a girl’s bday celebration with her sisters and a friend. There’s something really wholesome about ice rinks (I wish I could say the same for rollerskate game rinks, although sadly all that I’ve been to the last 20+ years seem to be full of cranksters), they attract families and teens looking to practice their skating skills, even if fair at best.
At $ 10 a person including rentals, my 4 girls (daughters and friends) went out for the 2 hour public skate. My husband and I parked it inside in the warmer snack area, ordering a decent, slightly dry hot pretzel.
They allow parties which may be an option for next year, and for any day where my daughters might need something to do.

Since we booked a party elsewhere, I don’t have a direct experience on how the party is going to be handled. However, the CEO and catering director have both quickly reached out to us and was very courteous. I had one friend who needed a party and the family also has the dietary restrictions. So I told her that the rink might be a good place. Let’s see how that goes, but I’m quite hopeful given those two gentlemen’s quick responses!

Great, family friendly place to beat the heat this summer Workers are great and attentive as well as the coaching staff for figure skating and hockey is amazing! I highly recommend bringing your son or daughter who wants to learn how to skate to come and take our 8 week learn to skate program or even start taking private lessons. the pro shop is usually always stocked and if they do not have something they are happy to order it for you right away. come on down and find out yourself how great LVIC really is very inexpensive as well

This is a birthday party review.
We threw a birthday party here yesterday. We were set up in a party room ready with supplies when we walked in.
I coordinated with Century and she communicated with me through phone and email very well. I had some last minute menu changes and they were changed with no hassle. I also rented 4 walkers for my party.
Lindy was our party host and she was AMAZING!!! Thank you for being SO attentive and easy going! I’d also like to shout out Zack and the lady who worked at the concession stand. They were sooo nice to our guests. Even my guests made comments about how nice the staff were.
The party was held during the public skate time, however, Zack allowed us to stay longer because there was a free slot time to skate. I paid extra per head… But at a discount! Well worth my money! The staff allowed us to transition into the lobby. We didn’t leave until 6pm. **this was just by chance!
The pizza was great! We ordered beef and cheese pizzas. The pitchers are huge! Loved the lemonade and fruit punch! Yes we brought our own cupcakes.
Thank you Lindy for being so gracious. My family and I had so much fun!
If you think that there are too many teens and kids here. the Fiesta Sobe Ice Arena is worse!!! Remember that the demographic at the Lakes and North town are different, so some reviews will vary depending on what side of town they’re from. Some people take their «summerlin» & «southern highlands» status very seriously.
My point is… the staff was great, the pizza is good, and my guests had a blast!
***just make sure you book a party room! If not, your party might end up in the lobby. I saw a party sectioned off upfront. I’m glad I didn’t get that!

So glad we bought the Groupon because this place is a disgusting mess that no one should pay full price for. Brought the kids to skate here on 4÷12÷14. Never again!
The Groupon included skate rental and a coupon for a drink. What they don’t tell you is that the «drink» is a Coke product fountain drink. They’re too cheap to include bottled water (the cheapest Nestle brand water out there, they charge $ 2 for). Lame. The trailer trash teen girls serving drinks behind the counter were more concerned with gossiping and screaming «let me take a selfie!» Than serving people. One girl had either henna or a bunch of pen scribbled writing on her hands (filthy). The whole operation is run on rude, obnoxious teenagers. Cheap labor, I suppose. Decided to pass on any crappy food and drink from behind the counter.
Don’t recommend a Saturday night, the place is crawling with loud, disrespectful pre-​teens playing grab ass and bored parents who probably wish they served alcohol.
The rink employees were very dangerous on the ice: messing around, skating way too fast and the opposite direction… felt bad for the little kids out there. They obviously rent skate-​walkers to big kids who absolutely don’t need them to help them skate, instead they use them as an accelerator to fuck around with. Nice.
The whole establishment is dirty and obnoxious. Will NOT be back!!!

To skate or to skeet? That is the question.
I’ve never tried ice skating before but I know how to rollerblade but alas, I was told they’re not the same. I had visions of kids lapping me and pushing me since I’m a noob, my skull busting open and blood freezing over ice and my fingers getting sliced off by ice skates. How do I move? How do I stop? Flashbacks of a near death experience when I swam to the middle of a pool and sinking under water.
It was a busy Saturday afternoon at the rink. I only spent $ 5 for ice skating + hot cocoa thanks to a friend who had Groupon. All the walkers were taken. The side rail was my only hope. Good thing I was with good company who know how to skate and were teaching me the basics. I told them to go ahead and enjoy skating and that I’ll be fine. I’m sure there’s a lot of photos and videos of me somewhere. Oh no! It was a fun time though.
Some grandma lapped me. I was distracted by a blonde blue-​eyed guy who was just staring and smiling at me. We talked for a bit and I asked him if he could teach me to skate… problem was he was 8 and I’m not like that. A guy was taking a selfie video while skating.
I was able to complete 2 laps without getting hurt or falling — that was good enough for me. We enjoyed hot cocoa after. They have lockers for 75cents so you can leave your shoes and personal items. The north rink is for hockey and the south rink is for skating. I’m always up for learning new things and spending time with good friends so even if my feet started to hurt, I still had a blast.
