Pretty nifty lil spot. I was refereed to this place by captain mustache who worked at the polaroid shop at the linq. The place is hard to find if you follow your gps, you have to walk thru the gate where all the little shops are at. Just look for the place with photos in the window. Any who I was greeted by one of the employees(friendly fellow). Told him I scored 4 polaroids at a thrift store and wanted to see if they worked. Him and his band of merry men took to testing out the 4 cams, to my amazement all of them were in working order! :D I was in a rush so really didn’t have time to scope out the place. However seems like a neat lil shop, they have a $ 5 spot for non working cams, they also have odds and ends of different working cams, and film. So if you need to get your polaroid fix or see if one is working head on down here and they will check it out for free.

It’s worth a thousand words. QUICKBACKSTORY: I was helping my mom clean out her garage and found an old Polaroid 600. I did some research and found out that there’s a local place in Vegas that not only carries film for theses ancient relics, but also sells them in nearly mint condition. When you walk into the Las Vegas Camera Club you’re immediately greeted by the owner, Bryan, and his assistant, Shawn. They get right down to it and ask how they can help… «Need film?» or «looking for a camera?»… «Yes to both!» — I say. I handed them my garage camera and they immediately know what it is, and that they do carry film for this piece of equipment. Upon inspection they say it needs to be cleaned first before they test it to make sure it works. By the way, they clean it for free! After a quick cleaning and few test snaps they sadly come the agreement that it doesn’t work and it would cost more to fix than it’s worth. I explain that I need a Polaroid camera for an upcoming event. «No problem we can loan you a camera with purchase of film». Problem solved. Beyond the amazing customer service here, they also have an array of classic licensed Polaroid cameras. An EMT cam, a Coca-Cola cam, and even a Mary-Kay cam. These aren’t for sale, but they have an entire wall of cameras that are for your purchasing and moment capturing pleasure. This might a niche need or service, but do your self a favor and check this place out!

There is no way I could give less than a perfect review. The odd Rastafarian gentleman who is apparently the proprietor knows much about the intricate workings of various mechanical systems — particularly Polaroid cameras — and is able to resuscitate machines of bygone days with little more than his wit and strangely shaped hand tools. Joining this Club — I feel as if I have entered a hermetic society, a veiled world whose secrets are slowly affecting my deepest consciousness. I have worlds to yet see. Plus, the Barbie Polaroid camera is really cute.

Friendly, deeply knowledgeable help with all things Polaroid. And their prices are way better than at the Polaroid store at the Linq. You want expertise, convenience, learning, wide selection, and the best prices on all things Polaroid? This is the place.

So I only stumbled across this space since I was checking out the Sin City Gallery’s Bunny Yeager exhibit(featuring Bettie Page) and Claus, the man at the gallery noticed my Polaroid camera. He mentioned I should check out the LV Camera Club across the street so I of course hit them up afterwards. I was greeted by Bryan McCormick who immediately saw that I had a Polaroid so knew that I ‘got’ his space. It’s awesome here and Bryan was super nice and showed me some amazing pieces they have here including a Hello Kitty, Camel cigarette, State Farm and other crazy Polaroid cameras from the past. They also sell my favorite Impossible Project film and accessories as well like the telephoto for the SX-70 that I was tempted to buy :) Definitely check them out!
