La Quinta Inn & Suites Las Vegas Summerlin Tech

This place was a hell hole. Stayed here over Thanksgiving with my husband and three year old.
Walked into a dirty room. Crap on the walls of the toilet. Man’s hair on bathroom floor and apparently someone who had a bad case of eczema who had left skin scales all on the side of the bed by the nightstand. Worst part of this? We told the front desk about it, they sent a maid in, my husband even pointed out the filth. After we returned from dinner it STILL was filthy. Was like the maid never entered our room.
Then to top it all off, the fire alarm went off twice in the morning. You’d think they would correct that problem the first time. Come on La Quinta, get your stuff together.
Completely unacceptable for a $ 200, two-​night stay.
I wouldn’t pay $ 2 to stay in this place.
Never again.

This hotel is clearly understaffed. Maintenance is also not kept up with. In our room, the shower was almost completely blocked up so we had to take showers in standing water. The poor front desk lady had to try and snake it for us since she was alone after 8:00 PM. The bathroom door did not latch, and out was very difficult to shut and lock the hotel room door. Breakfast was typical La Quinta; wish at least three coffee was better. We did get a discount because off the shower thing. I have to give the staff credit for trying.

I’m not a picky person. All I ask for is a clean room.
The hotel as a whole smelled pretty stale and smelled faintly of cigarettes. It says it’s non-​smoking there but it smells like it once was and they never bothered to rid the place of that smell… And that includes the rooms. I was too tired to complain when we arrived so I told them in the AM. But yeah, the place reeks and the doors look scuffed and dented.
I found an empty water bottle on the floor next to the bed. The floor looked like it was either lazily vacuumed or their vacuums are crap.
The breakfast area/​front was clean so I did eat breakfast there and did not get sick.
I really don’t recommend this unless you absolutely must stay there. We have dogs so our options are limited.
We did stay at the Nellis La Quinta before and while, yes, it was in a shady looking area it was much cleaner.
The front desk lady did give me a discount because of my dissatisfaction but it still does not mean I’ll return.
Next time we drive through Vegas we will stay at Nellis again.

Our home recently burned down and we stayed at this La Quinta for 3 weeks. It is the best pet-​friendly hotel ever! Our dog had been in the fire and he was lost for two days. When we found him, he was dehydrated, sick and traumatized. The hotel management put up with his anxiety and issues and did everything they could to ensure our comfort. The staff was wonderful and the place is very clean and nice. We enjoyed the daily breakfast and our grandson was excited every morning to go down to breakfast. The pool was beautiful and well maintained. Overall, we cannot say enough about the quality of service and the price was right too!!!

We stayed there while my husband was in a conference. The room was very nice, clean, breakfast worked well for the 4 of us. We had a suite which worked well for our family. The staff was very nice. They helped us with first aid (bandaid and antibiotic cream) when my daughter’s spider bite (got from home) was really red. They have a computer you can use as a business center so it was good to print what we needed. There are a lot of food places locally as well as shopping. Pool and jacuzzi was clean and nice. We actually stayed there two separate times for a total of 8 days in July. Thought that being by the freeway and hospital we would hear a lot of noise but not really. I heard a siren and a loud screaming motorcycle on the freeway once. We often just called to have our room cleaned when we stepped out. They could have done a better job at keeping towels by the pool would be my only recommendation. We often just used our room towels. Overall, very happy with the accommodations.

I reserved a room here for my in laws who were
coming to town for a funeral. I assumed by the
location that it would be nice because it would mostly attract people that were in town for business.
Unfortunately my in laws had a bad experience. The
room was not very clean, the Wifi was spotty and the
cable TV was not working. I paid over 100.00 for that.
Never again!

After a nightmare experience at a bast western, I have to say we were extremely happy with our stay here! We had just moved into town and our apartment wasn’t quite ready yet so we stayed here for 2 nights. All of the ladies at the front desk were super friendly and so accommodating. They don’t charge for pets and had a decent little breakfast in the morning. I felt safe in the location and we slept really well. I had never stayed at a la quinta and was pleasantly surprised!

I knew I was going to be less than impressed with this La Quinta location based on the other reviews I read, but I decided to give it a go anyway. It is in a medical building complex and it is right off of the 95 freeway so the ease of access is what was most attractive to me but the hotel is a hot mess. From the outside it looks alright, like a standard La Quinta but the inside is a whole other story.
Pros: Nice staff, although a bit MIA from the front desk area. I had to call back to the back after I had waited a good 5 minutes or so. I understand that it is slow and they are taking a little break, but I was not impressed. They need a bell up at the counter or something. That being said, the two guest agents I encountered were very friendly and personable. They gave me a room on the 5^th floor, which I was hoping for since I don‘t like being on a lower level and hearing all the noise of those above me.
Cons: Where do I begin? This building is dated. You cannot really tell from the front counter and breakfast area but then you start to make the journey to your room and it all unravels. The elevator floor was dirty, there were scratch marks on the elevator walls where people carved their names or proclamations of love (I never understood WHY people feel the need to do this). La Quinta needs to clean that crap up. I got off on the 5^th floor and there was no ice machine up there or vending. You have to go back down to level 1(minor annoyance but I expect more from the brand). The windows looking outside from the hall are DIRTY! Like really dirty. Is it cloudy outside? Nope, the window is just extremely dirty. The room was dated with stained carpet, door frames in need of repair, more dirty windows. There were stains on the towels, and the bathtub was dirty. Ew. I always lay down towels or bring my flip flops to shower so whatever. There was also dried CHOCOLATE on the remote (I was seriously wondering if it was poop at first). Luckily I bring disinfectant wipes everywhere to give things a nice wipe down, but really? Gross.
The hotel is near a freeway, which I thought would be an issue but it was fine. There wasn’t a lot of noise but I couldn‘t sleep because the mattress was not comfortable. All in all, I would not stay here again. I have stayed at other La Quinta locations and this is by far the worse. Nice people, nice concept, poor execution. They need to give this entire hotel an update and a good cleaning. Oh, and better wifi. I would have better luck with speed if I put coins into a slot and waited for dial up.

In early November 2014 I reserved a room for a two nights stay here, on a Sunday and Monday, for my wife and mother-​in-​law. My wife had to travel, with Mommy Dearest, to Lost Wages to get her situated into an assisted living home only two blocks away from the motel. My wife stated, as recently as a few days ago, that this motel was very nice and she felt safe in the big city. It was clean, with updated décor and features. The breakfast room was also clean and well stocked, allowing for less stress while dealing with a very stressful situation (moderate dementia and early Alzheimer riddled mother).
This «adventure», getting Mommy Dearest situated into her new accommodations, took some unexpected turns causing the need for her to stay a few more days than planned. On that Tuesday morning when my wife inquired about staying for two more nights the management stated they would charge her, PER night, the same amount that it had charged for the first two nights combined — double the cost! A motel room, on a Tuesday and Wednesday night no less, was to cost her (us) DOUBLE the nightly rate we had just paid. This, apparently, is the price one pays for «last minute» accommodations; EVEN when the place is half empty! Even after explaining their plight, there was no empathy, mercy or budging by management. Amazing, to say the least! They paid for only one extra night at the inflated rate, as a nearby family member was able to make room for them in their home. She ended up having to stay an extra 4 days BTW, which would have been more $$$ in the motel’s coffers (had they charged her the same initial rate, which we acquired through their own website).
Having vented on here my displeasure with this establishment (based on the lack of any type of empathy/​mercy — one could tell the MIL was mentally ill), my wife insists she would stay here again, if the price was right; both out of convenience and the aforementioned attributes. She would give this a 4 to 5 rating, while that BS acquires a 2 from me. As a compromise I’ll give it a 3. We will have to pay the MIL a visit in the near future, so if we stay here maybe I’ll change the rating (time and monies will tell).

I stayed here for a few nights during a business trip, and the service was AMAZING. ! Thank you guys so much, I was treated less than fairly by a few hotels recently, and this was a great business stay thanks to the staff, clean rooms, continental breakfast, updated amenities, everything inside the room was adorable and I will be back! I was welcomed in for my late-​check-​in and last minute booking by the manager who was humbly working that Saturday night, which is more dedication than I saw from other hotels in the area that were short staffed. I was also able to strike up a warm conversation with the sweet and friendly woman (Who’s name I didn’t catch-​such a shame because she was great) who was about to pop in for housekeeping when she saw the do not disturb sign on the door, and asked if I needed anything (fresh towels etc) or service later in the day. The woman at the front desk the next day also gave me great directions, and was friendly. Loved staying here.

Stayed here for 6 days, we have two dogs and they were very accommodating. The back yard was great, we could let the dogs run around as no one was ever out there and it’s nicely landscaped. The pool was nice too! Rooms were fine, clean and comfortable. The staff were great!!! Really lovely and very helpful!

Kinda late but wanted to add as I was moving my things to my car after checkout I heard that same banging loud noises in the stairwell so it’s the structure/​plumbing and unfortunately got a room (not sure if it is all rooms) in the worst possible spot.
I don’t recommend chancing it if you need to sleep.

I chooses this place because the good reviews on Trip Advisor. They still have a good pet policy but this has to be the dirtiest La Quinta I have ever stay. Hair in the toilet bowl when I go in the room the bathtub super dirty and the carpet. Do not recommended to anyone for now.

I haven’t been to a LaQuinta in a long time, but this stay just changed my mind on the brand. The room was spacious and updated. The bed and bedding was super comfortable. GREAT value for the money. Karen greeted up upon check in. She was extremely kind and helpful. She even helped us with where to park our RV. We were nervous about where to stay the night to where our RV would be safe — LaQuinta was in a safe location, with a very well lit parking lot. There was also a cute little courtyard to relax outside. And free waffles, hard boiled eggs, toast/​bagels, yogurt, juice and coffee. I would certainly stay here again if I were passing thru the area. I wouldn’t necessarily stay if I were partying down in Vegas bc it is too far away and you can get cheap rooms on the strip. We were needing to avoid the strip… we just needed somewhere to sleep on our way thru town and LaQuinta provided a great place for us.

Overall this was a very pleasant stay. Nothing outrageously luxurious or horribly bad. We stayed here for 2 nights for a wedding of a family member.
Pros:
— When we first checked in it was about 12 at night. The desk attendant was very friendly and accommodating, a GREAT 1^st impression
— We wanted a quiet place, away from the strip to go home to and this was perfect. The giant king bed was comfortable and had lots of pillows. The layout of the room was different and refreshing.
— Breakfast was above average than your usual continental breakfast you get. They provided orange juice, coffee, milk, lemon water, fresh waffles, bagels, cereal and yogurt
— Free WIFI
— Did I mention that they have coffee ²⁴⁄₆
— About 4 minutes away there is a 24 hour supermarket…
Cons: (just a few)
— The door to our bathroom did not shut properly (a broken spring that can be easily fixed)
— We were in a room near the end of the hall. The door to the stairs slammed when it was shut. Luckily only a few times.
Overall a very pleasant stay! If all La Quintas are like this I will be back :)

If you need somewhere cheap to stay for a night this place is fine. I however recently completed an extended stay here and the longer you stay, the more the bloom will be off that rose. Allow me to explain.
The building is just a wreck. In no particular order I enjoyed the following «surprises» while there: Pool closed due to cloudy/​green, hot tub broken, fitness room useless due to all equipment broken/​vandalized, flooding in hallways, power outages, water dripping from ceiling, A/​C in my room basically had two modes (on or off), pet «messes» everywhere, broken elevator, and fire alarms that no one knew how to turn off.
The clientele also leaves something to be desired. Not that I’m one to throw stones since I stayed there, but I witnessed several times where someone with dogs got into a shouting/​swearing match with someone over excessive barking. Also «pets» doesn’t apparently mean cutesie Paris Hilton puppies oh no — many times there were Rottweilers or pitbulls just walking around NO LEASH. I have a young son and didn’t like that at all.
As for the staff they seemed nice enough but I noticed the longer I stayed the less often my room was cleaned. At the end I got maid service ONE time in the last two weeks I was there. Also they got rid of the manager during my stay and he had been pretty responsive to any issues I raised.
Let’s close on a positive note because the cost for this place is pretty low and you DO get free but slow internet, a smattering of cable channels, and a free breakfast featuring waffles, hard boiled eggs, and coffee/​juice.
I’d consider 3 stars for this place if they fixed the issues they can control such as the building issues above and better enforcement of pet policies. It won’t ever be confused for some 5 star hotel and I guess no one expects that, but a lot of what they claimed to offer fell short.

What a steal! This place is fabulous. My husband and I were looking for a dog friendly hotel in Summerlin and this was the most affordable place with the most amenities. The rooms were clean and didn’t have those typical nasty hotel comforters. Everyone was super friendly and the complimentary breakfast was pretty nice! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice place to stay with their pups.

Not happy with this place at all! Not clean. Cheap linens and bedding. Hall carpeting was dirty, elevators were dirty and old, one broke down on Thanksgiving with a woman stuck inside for over an hour!
Housekeeping left some weird red cleaner all over the base of the toilet, forgot to leave coffee a couple of times and the beds looked like they were thrown together with the sheets not tucked in and one bedspread missing.
Would not recommend this hotel even at the low cost. Pay $ 20-​$ 30 more a night and stay somewhere else.

I’ve stayed at this La Quinta several times now and it’s a pretty decent place. It’s way off the strip, so if you are a tourist that wants to hit up the nightlife, this probably isn’t the place for you. If you have other business in Las Vegas, this is a great alternative to the expensive hotels on the strip.
The staff is quite helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean. In the morning they have a breakfast buffet. But this last time, we got up around 9 and the buffet was closed. Also the WIFI is free.
If you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay while visiting Las Vegas, and you don’t mind being away from the tourist attractions, this is a good place to stay. Will I be back? Sure I will, I enjoying visiting.

I came to LV to move a good friend of mine to Long Beach and I need a hotel room near her house. I made the reservation online and I checked in on ²⁄₂₆ (Friday) at about 2am (Saturday morning). I called ahead to let the guy @ the front desk know I would be a late arrival. There were no issues at all during check in and the guy honestly gave us our keys in about 3 minutes.
My room was a king, non smoking room on the 3^rd floor. It was close to the elevator and it was clean. The only problem was that the refrigerator did not work. I called the front desk in the morning before I left to meet my friend for breakfast and when I came back that afternoon the fridge was working and the maintenance guy had put all of my drinks that were sitting on the counter into the fridge for me… so everything was nice and cool for me when I got back. Thanks maintenance guy! Housekeeping brought me towels in about 5 minutes after me requesting them. I was impressed that they were onto of things here. Made my stay pleasant.
The continental breakfast was pretty good. They had big waffle makers and lots of breads, bagels, cereal, juice and plenty of hot coffee.
Overall the place was not bad. I did not make it to the pool area as this trip was pretty much all business. I will agree with Charlie that the elevators are old and smell dusty and in need of a face lift. Other than that… not a bad trip. Room was about $ 79/​night.
