Kozmary Center

I’ve been a client for 5 years and had 2 of the same procedures done but my insurance only covered 1 completely for the most part and the medication on the other side. The old billing man Mike who they said was let go for not doing his job properly would have been able to get this issue figured out easily. The two last billing girls, 1 new, 1 other has been with Kozmary for as long as I can remember jumped straight into don’t call my insurance and they would put that one not paid for as a cash pay reduction in case my insurance paid the other one accidentally and than I’d be stuck with 2 large bills. It never sat well with me so I did call my insurance and they told me all it was is an error with the coding in the billing department and it is covered but they still refused to fix it claiming they felt they didn’t want to change any codes since they were so stubborn and believed they couldn’t be human and make a mistake. I basically, went to my Guidance center for help since I’m on a fixed income and couldn’t afford this payment plan they wanted to keep making me pay, especially when the procedure was covered. In 5 years I never had a problem or complained but did call the doctor a few times to discuss this with no response and after my visit I was told I need my procedures I have done every 8 months scheduled but as I went to fill my script I was told told to meet with billing and ran into doc and told him what happened which he said that’s not what he heard from his staff until I showed him the paperwork that I got him the $$$$ thousands difference from my $ 800. payment plan but they say me down and told me that I am bring discharged from their program and to find a new doctor. They would not be referring me anywhere. Five years, I was a great patient and I worked to do the job of his lazy billing staff and my gratitude is being kicked out of the doctors office. I’m dealing with enough in my life and that was humiliating. What comes around, goes around. Maybe that’s why all their great staff keeps leaving. The staff is beautiful aside from the billing and my respect for Dr. Kozmary went down the drain today. It’s a shame that he looked at me as a blank sheet of paper when over the years I really believed while he did his procedures on me, he cared for me as his patient. Sad! 5 years. Kevin Ann, Jose, and all the other great staff. Your beautiful. Find somewhere else to work that fits your great energy.

It’s all about money. They run people thru like cattle. Dr. Kozmary saw me for 10 seconds. He came into the office after his PA had done all the work. Asked what I was prescribed (note there are kickbacks for prescribing specific pain meds) then left. Never asked me about my medical history. The PA was trying to load me up on stronger new meds, my previous meds worked great and were well under the normal dosage for my kind of pain. He gave me the new meds, no pharmacy in town had them. I had to go back and pay another office charge to get another prescription for what I was originally taking, standard medication that probably had no kickback. Then they tell I missed an office visit and I owed $ 50. Billing argued with me, told me they would not let me see the doctor that day unless I paid. Luckily I had a voice message stating that they had received my notice of cancellation. Yesterday I went for trigger point injections, $ 200 cancellation appointment fee. When I get there they tell me I owe $ 290 from June for my deductible. I tell them I paid my deductible for the year. Then the billing department calls me in, very rude. Tells me if I don’t pay the $ 290 right then I can’t have the injections, thus a $ 200 cancellation fee. They would not take a check, I didn’t have that much cash and didn’t have my ATM card. They finally accepted all the cash I had on me. It’s all about money. Had my injections, thanked the PA, told the receptionist and scheduling gentleman that I appreciated their professional service, but the billing department and billing procedures were unprofessional, that I had never been treated so badly and I would not be back. Wanna bet I get a $ 50 cancellation fee bill for not showing up for my appointment later this month.

if your looking for a doctor that does not listen to a thing you say and a awful staff this is your place. I have a morphine pump and have other problem besides my back and have been taking the same amount of meds fora number of years. I see him and he cuts my morphine pump back and cuts my oral meds in less than half sending me to the hospital in the worst withdrawal i have ever had and he did this intentionally with full knowledge of my history. Thats where the does not listen does not care. When people talk about him charging for breathing his air i get that i had stopped seeing him when he started charging me $ 35 to get my morphine in to refill my pump no other doctor in town charged that but because it was aloud by medicare he charged then there the cancellation policy there closed on mondays so if your going to be sick on tuesday you better know it on friday otherwise its $ 50 to you when i left they sent me a bill for $ 1500 and theres one thing about tis place you dont get seen if you owe him a dime so not sure how i owed him anything. He gets you strong out then if you own him anything you have to pay up in full no matter what the amount they come up with or they wont give you your meds for that month. What a racket.

Beware just type Kozmary and fraud and see what pops up. I went there for 2 years then when I stopped going they started sending bills for thousands of dollars. Even tho I had a pretty good insurance and Medicare. Come to find out not only did the insurance company pay them they tried to charge the insurance 3 and 4 times. They try to get you to pay money the insurance already paid. If you see there commercials they talk about no surgery but once you’re in the door that’s all they pushed down your throat surgery surgery surgery BEWARE. Learn from my mistakes.

Such a wonderful office. Everyone is so nice and helpful. I have to take my mother in law here and we absolutely love it. Great office!!!

The process at the Pain Center is unheard of — after you have shelled out $ 2000.00 of your OWN MONEY-​as insurance will not cover for a drug test and a psychological evaluation-​then they request a referral from your physician and THEN they decide IF he will see you; meanwhile he is laughing all the way to the bank with your money and he has the ability to say «No» — so this town either has free flowing pill mills or Pain Mgmt Clinics can swing to the other extreme and abuse authentic patients who’s lives have been in turmoil for 10 yrs when people began abusing pain meds and making anyone who takes them feel like a crook, inferior, dirty — etc. We have enough problems in our lives ²⁴⁄₇ and are barely holding on with dignity and then this kind of practice strips you financially and has figured out a way to swindle funds from those most in need of help — I’m appalled. I will continue to fly out of town to maintain my care; as this is ridiculous and should be investigated for abuse. Oh to boot, they participate with very few insurance companies and/​or are the highest tier of those that they are contracted with-​so even MORE money is shelled out IF, and only if, he deems you «worthy» of being seen — approximately $ 350.00 for your first visit. So 5 back surgeries, a neurostimulator that is not working properly, and metal in your spinal cord — those records don’t matter ENOUGH to avoid having to pay $ 2000.00 and then he still can shoot you down and not take you as a patient — WOW! Risky…

Finding a Good Pain Management Doctor is HARD!!! Finding an Excellent Pain Management Doctor and staff is almost impossible. There are a few good Doctors in this town but it took me going to a bad one to get referred to Dr Kozmary. After having lumbar disc replacement surgery I was going to a pain Doctor who refused to listen to me when I said I was having issues with pain in other areas, especially my hands. They said, I need to go to my surgeon with new issues. They were only there to give me the pain medications… so I did. My surgeon who was not at all pleased with this particular Doctor and his response referred me to Dr Kozmary who thankfully listened, understood and saved my life when he ordered another MRI showing 5 broken discs in my neck. c3-​c7. I needed more surgery!!! I have learned a great lesson. if a doctor doesn’t show empathy… move on! Dr Kozmary’s staff is incredible. They always make me feel like they look forward to seeing me, always concerned about how I feel on many levels and they help me to understand what has happened, what is happening and what will happen. I am no longer in the dark. My PA is Kristin who is the nicest and warmest person I have ever met. She even called my husband to make sure he was OK with everything that was going on with me. They make going to the doctor as painless as possible and even somewhat enjoyable. It’s been a very hard 14 months for me and I have to give this office a huge THANKYOU for helping me through it all! xoxo
