Description

Specialties

For lunch:

1. Heros (subs) made with real Italian bread, crusty on the outside, soft on the inside filled with Boar’s Head meat and all the fixings – pure olive oil, red wine vinegar, salt, pepper, mayo, shredded lettuce, thinly cut onions, and tomatoes.

2. Salads: Our 41-ingredient salad station features fresh vegetables that arrive daily from California, eight dressings, and a monster 48 ounce bowl. We toss, dress, and serve with a smile.

3. Gambler’s Sandwiches: Choose from four breads – marbled rye, sourdough, wheat, white – or make it with a wrap or bagel, and enjoy BLT’s, grilled cheese & tomato, tuna & cheese (served cold or as a melt), a veggie-loaded treat with humus, cheese, or cream cheese, and our chicken-bacon-Swiss-ranch specialty.

For breakfast:

1. Bagels: Real boiled and baked bagel with all the fixings, plus breakfast bagel sandwiches with fresh eggs, melted cheese and ham, sausage or crispy bacon.

2. Power Wraps feature three fresh eggs and all the fillings you like – grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, spinach, melted cheese, bacon, ham or sausage, and more.

3. Omelets and Pancakes with real hash brown potatoes, and ham, sausage or crispy bacon.

We also serve omelets made with real eggs, pancakes, oatmeal, power wraps, oatmeal, and other great breakfast choices, plus small and large bags of Wise chips, Dr. Brown’s sodas, black and white cookies, and other goodies East Coasters love.

History

Established in 2015.

I’m from Brooklyn, New York, and while I appreciate inventive food, and twists of the familiar, after a while I get fed up with the too-cute menus of some restaurants in the area.

Sometimes, you know, you just want to eat. You want to eat food you understand. You don’t want to ponder some combination of peanut butter, bacon, cereal crumbles, and some other ingredients smothered in a house sauce. You look at these menus and you think, «Hey, can I just eat?» And you look at the prices afterwards and say, «Really?»

So, I figured I would do something about it. I would make things the way I wanted to make them and with menu items that made sense to me – with good quality fresh ingredients – and serve them at a fair price. And while right now I can’t remember my full motivation for opening the Gambler’s Café, I know that was a big part of it.

I’m serious about my food. I demand of my restaurant what I demand of places when I eat out. My promise to you: Your food will be done properly. If we fall short, I’ll make it right. If you like our café, please help us with good reviews.

It’s real nice meeting you online and I look forward to meeting you in person!
