Came here with hubby while visiting the ASD convention next door. We’ve always found the Renaissance hotel to be convenient given that it’s walking distance — ergo, we can avoid the crowd. However, we’ve not had the chance to visit the Starbucks-related café E-Go as we usually eat prior. The second morning of ASD we were running late and met the most spectacularly angry, snippy«barista» we’ve ever had the displeasure of coming into contact with. We didn’t see a nametag, but she had a short, dark angled bob and appeared Hispanic(not being racist– I’m Cuban. This is for identification for future reference.) We waited on the one person in front of us, and noticed it took quite awhile for him to receive one coffee and a pre-made sandwich– which I realized was because she was moving very slowly. She gives him his food and drink AT the register(doesn’t seem relevant now, but keep reading.) It becomes our turn to order and we receive the lovely, flat«next.» No greeting, hello, hi, how can I assist you? Hubby says he’d like a venti mocha and she responds with nothing but a curt head nod. I ask her what kind of muffin was in the pastry case, and she answers as if it was so incredibly below her to reply, with attitude beyond belief: «double. chocolate. chunk. «with a sarcastic finish. I falter in absolute offense, but say I’ll take it. She sticks her hand out for payment, and turns away with no response after returning the change(her tip jar was empty save for 8 coins– it’s not just me, apparently.) We stand awkwardly at the register waiting for some kind of direction, and she disappears in the back and brings out the muffin wordlessly, and then begins making the drink. This is where it gets hilarious– normally, at any other café, you would expect the barista to call out your name(she never asked us ours) OR the drink name, and to acknowledge you once received. This no-name employee actually smacked the drink on the counter over 8 feet AWAY from where we were standing by the register with a resounding CLUNK-without EVER looking our way or making sure the correct person got the drink. For all we know, she could’ve given it to a random stranger for free and not cared. HOLY moly. Who peed in her Cheerios?! My hubby just gaped at her(back of her head as she was still pretending we didn’t exist) and walked all the way to the end to gather our purchase. No acknowledgement, no «have a great day»(not surprising as there was no greeting at the register) — nothing. I’m appalled, to say the least. The drink was lukewarm at best. Very representative of her personality and service to us. The muffin saved the otherwise disastrous transaction, but it came pre-made. I had to actually stop the hubby from saying anything to her– it would have been embarrassing for her and, to be blunt, I don’t believe she gave a _____, and it wouldn’t have changed how she treats customers. She is literally chasing business away with her lovely demeanor(sarcasm), and that means loss of money for whoever own this otherwise great location. However, she probably won’t stop the hoards of convention-goers from braving her sass to get a coffee– they’re mostly tourists and forgetful. As for us, we are never coming back here again– which is sad, considering how many times we(and our friends) pass this place in a month. Buyer beware.

Coffee is fresh and ready but the sandwiches are pre-made and meh. Everything is grab-n-go which is fine, but because it’s in the hotel, it’s over-priced and makes you feel kinda like they could have at least asked your name first before they… well you know. Convenient though and the Illy coffee is pretty darn good!

***E Go Café is located in the Renaissance hotel and their Greek yogurt parfait is pretty good – topped with sweet and crunchy granola, good candied pistachios, and fresh fruit; unfortunately, the lines can really build here(due to its small size and kitchen) and the prices are high(but that is kind of the case with food in Las Vegas)*** Like most hotels in Las Vegas, the Renaissance hotel offers both valet and self parking.

Coffee is made here, sandwiches are not. Ordering 2 coffees and 1 sandwich, I asked for soy in the coffee, 1 hot peppermint mocha and 1 iced chai and some how received a cold peppermint mocha and hot chai both with soy. I couldn’t taste the peppermint in the mocha, not sure if it was served cold is the reason. The sandwich, I requested it to be cut in half and made without cheese, the lady responded back with the sandwiches are pre-made. I’m just wondering how long before was it made? At least the second lady who was making the coffee let me take 2 apples from the basket. If you are short on time and can’t run out to a different location, this is the spot for you. If you are able to get out and have time to stop somewhere else, I would do that instead. Service may be kind of slow too.

Grab and go breakfast & dinner when I’m here on business. My usual morning breakfat combo meal includes choice or OJ or apple juice, hot tea or coffee & choice of a pastry for $ 7.95. They also offer fresh fruit, bagels, panini’s, parfaits & much more. It beats the convention centers food.
