History

Established in 1983.

The seeds for Dan Christopher Photography were planted in 1969 when Dan was in the U.S. Army serving as a TV newscaster for Armed Forces radio and television. Armed with a new camera — and a career in journalism already underway — Dan developed a passion for using his camera to tell stories of interesting people and places.

Returning to civilian life as a broadcaster, Dan continued his pursuit of photography. He worked with political candidates, models, and families.

While beginning his own family, Dan Christopher Photography was born in 1983 and has been successfully growing ever since.

Now retired from broadcasting, Dan works full time as a photographer and travel-​writer.

Business Owner

Dan Christopher is a professional photographer with a full-​time commercial and portrait studio based in Portland, Oregon.

Adventures have taken Dan to the steaming, post-​eruption lava dome of Mt. St. Helens, to the impoverished and isolated core of Tanzania, across war-​time Vietnam, and throughout China.

A journalist of 40+ years, Dan is active in the community and has won multiple awards including Commercial/​Illustrative Photographer of the Year by Professional Photographers of Oregon.

Specializing in photographic art for families, children, high school seniors, engagements and weddings. Also specializing in maternity, newborn and infant pictures, as well as models portfolios, executive and business head shots.

Dan’s most recent book is a coffee table album titled PORTLAND Sunnyside Up, showcasing Oregon’s «Rose City» when it sparkles. Examples of Dan’s work are found on his web site, his blog and his Travelocity Express travel blog.
