History

Established in 1998.

«O», whose name is pronounced the same way as «eau,» the French word for water, opened on October 15, 1998 at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino, where it makes its permanent residence. The «O» Theater was designed to look similar to a 14^th-century European opera house and has a capacity of 1,800 seats. «O» houses a 1.5 million gallon pool where the cast of nearly 80 artists present one of the most coveted tickets in Las Vegas.

I hate to admit this… but honestly, I fell asleep during the show. I guess being up super early that day and then attending the 9:30 show didn’t help, but we didn’t think that the show was all that it’s hyped up to be… especially for the price!
Don’t get me wrong — a lot of the show was really cool, but I guess it just wasn’t the high-flying/acrobatic style of Cirque that I prefer like Mystere.
The Bellagio hotel is beautiful and the staff at the show treat you like royalty, but I’m glad wifey and I finally crossed this one off our list.

I know boo why do I have to be the one to give this show only 3 stars! I’m genuinely sad that I had higher expectations to this Cirque Du Soleil show. I’ve been to multiple shows on the strip and it’s something I enjoy doing regardless if it’s just hosting my out of town visitors or wanting to enjoy what my beautiful city has to offer! Who says locals can’t have fun on the strip?! For those of you who haven’t been to this type of show it’s like a reinvent version of a circus, a MODERN CIRCUS with elaborate props and out of this world, jaw dropping acrobatics. It sounds like an ad I know but they’re really just that.
This is one of the three Cirque shows I haven’t seen and I was so disappointed. The theater was beautiful the stage was as well. It’s an «aquatic masterpiece» with interchange ponds/stage. They had divers, acrobats and beautiful artistry but something was just missing. I’m still pondering why I couldn’t enjoy this show like KA at MGM, Beatles Love at Mirage or MYSTERE at Treasure Island. By the way, fun fact MYSTERE was one of the first cirque du soleil shows! I highly recommended it! Back to O my standards were high like their prices per a ticket; unfortunately they just weren’t met. I came here with my family and we were a party of 8 disappointed guests. I literally was yawning. However, we did purchase our group photo on our way out for $ 45! They have great photoshop skills! For what it’s worth, the show was an average good but if you want a good show for a good price then try one of the 3 listed above. I mean, Vegas can get expensive and I’m sure most of you want to get what you pay for.

I watched O last May on a Sunday (10pm showing). I think I was too tired from traveling to Vegas that day to truly enjoy the show, literally started falling asleep during some parts prior to midnight. The music was soothing at times. Nice, comfy theater and the plop of rain drops still makes me smile up to this day. Just thought it was very expensive, but it was all worth it after my dad enjoyed his first Cirque du Soleil show and mom loved her late Mother’s Day gift. I chose the seats online, section 203 row X (last row in section) seats 18 – 21 smack dab in the middle costing me quite a bit. You could see everything! Thank goodness for income tax refunds … Behind us were some box seats. Full house the day before Memorial Day.
My favorite parts were the ones with the performers on the floating house. Comic relief. I don’t want to leave any spoilers.
After a colorful show like Mystère at TI, moonlit O was indeed mesmerizing but I kind of expected more.
Pre-show entertainment calls for a few wet encounters.

«O» is the second Cirque show that I have seen and I absolutely loved it. The choreography, costumes, and atmosphere were stunning. The music that plays during the show is performed by live musicians: amazing. I really like that this particular show has water incorporated because it is exciting and soothing at the same time. I thought it was well worth the money. If you are unsure of which show to see, definitely check out «O»

Hands down the best Cirque show in Vegas! You definitely get what you pay for! We were able to snag 2^nd row seats on the side and they were pretty good considering they were the lowest price range. There were obstructed views in the beginning during pre-show but during the show, we were so close that we felt like water could have gotten onto us! We were able to see the performers’ faces and facial expressions and were so thrilled to be so close that we could really tell how high the divers really jumped! The theatrics were great (like every other Cirque show) and the performers were very good at what they did!
I highly recommend this show! It is about an hour and a half and totally worth the extra money as compared to the other Cirque shows!

Spectacular Cirque Show! Water themed and inspired combined with the elegance of the acrobatics is just a beautiful visionary dream. The skilled performers are flawless. Cirque shows aren’t cheap. This is worth the splurge. I left in utter amazement and lots of respect to the artists and their focus to deliver such an extraordinary performance.

A lot of people have said that this is their favorite Cirque du Soleil show. This was only my third but I’d have to agree and am now uninterested in seeing any others (bad business model!). Being a swimmer I really appreciated the skill of the diving in the show. It was amazing to watch people, homo sapiens, be so graceful in the air and water as well as land. It felt like I watching another species (aquaman?) onstage.
I sat up on the balcony so could see a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff like the scuba divers swimming like shark underneath to take the performers «offstage». I still haven’t figured out how they disappeared. Is there an underwater entrance or just a tunnel we can’t see where they take them backstage? The use of the vertically moving stage was dramatic and visually moving as well. I can’t imagine the work that went into designing and maintaining such a wet set!
As usual with CdS they had the street performers and clowns. I didn’t really understand the «plot» or point of these aspects. It was really distracting from the main show.

I’m am not sure how some people said they got «bored» with O. I’ve seen several Cirque Du Soleil shows and this one was one of my favorites, hands down. Although — I must say — some acts (like the high swinging boat) you may have seen at other shows, but they put a different twist on it which makes it ok.
To me, the most fascinating thing about O is how quick the water moves. You see people walking over it and in the next minute, acrobats diving into the same spot from 40feet high. The production is mind blowing.
And yes, there’s really not a plot. Like most of their shows. It’s a fancy circus anyways. There are clowns, acrobats, music and lights. It’s suppose to be amusing and not necessarily tell a story, like the Michael Jackson one, for instance. It is suppose to be entertaining and it surely is. You look around and see grey-haired people with their jaws dropped in amusement. It’s a beautiful thing.
I was lucky enough to get amazing seats and I was so close to the stage I could actually get some mist of water on me. Fascinating. It was expensive $ 180 per ticket, but totally worth it.

As much as I loved the show I’m giving it a four Starr’s because of the price. $ 300 dolls for so so seating with the m discount not impressed. Ive seen @ least 10 + shows in my life and my interests continuous keeps me coming back.
All the work that goes into the production is amazing. It was a bucket list completed. The shows makes you want to hit the gym more. I wish I could fly on that red curtain. !!! The deep pool below keeps you wondering were are they going ??? Take me with on your journey.
Loved it all. Overall i hope they all get paid well. They are placing there life’s on the line. A must see because the ones of seen on the road cannot jump as high and water aspect of it is amazing.

Snooooze… it’s no wonder I’m just getting around to this long overdue review-I literally just woke up from the deep sleep this show put me in during the show. Man, and I thought Mystere was bad.
This is just my humble review, but that said, I’m over it! The show was boring, very dis-jointed, lacked a true plot, and SO overpriced. They pride themselves on being the oldest and best of the Cirque du Soleil family, and, for they charge top dollar for it at times. No thank you. La Reve and KA still hold the crown. That is, until I see Michael J… I’m convinced that show will reign supreme!

I saw O many years ago from the cheap seats after a full day of partying and I hardly remembered anything. Recently, I saw it from a back seat in the lower orchestra and I have to say that it is awesome. It’s a fever dream combined with another fever dream. I loved it. It barely eeks out my other favorite show, Absinthe, based on sheer scale. I wish I could say that every seat in the house is a winner but that just isn’t true.

This is my favorite Cirque du Soleil show.
I always wondered why they called it the O Show. I mean O (MG)… It is amazing and all but did you know that the name O comes from the French word for water, «eau»? Well now you do. This show involves water which is part of the reason why I find it to be the best of all of the shows. The amphibious stage is a sight to behold. Even after all these years, I am still in awe of how it all works.
O has a cast of 85 acrobats, synchronized swimmers and divers performing in and above a 1.5 million-gallon pool. Some of the show’s performers are former Olympic athletes. There is so much to see. You will be entertained from start to finish.
I don’t want to spoil the show for you by telling you what it’s all about. I just insist that you see it and if you aren’t sure which Cirque du Soleil show to pick, this is the one. Enjoy!

As a huge Cirque fan, O didn’t disappoint, but it wasn’t my favorite show. The water and high dives were definitely fantastic points of visual interest, but towards the end, there just wasn’t enough to keep my attention.
Music was alright. The acrobatics were outstanding per usual. Once in a lifetime watch for me!

After hearing about this show for so long, I was super excited to finally go see it.
It did not disappoint! The water and stage was incredible. There were definitely times when I had to hold my breath during the performances. The set design was superb, the comic relief in good taste, and overall just an amazing show. I don’t know if it was worth what we paid for it, but I can see how much work was put into the production. I especially enjoyed seeing the live musical performances to the sides of the stage.
I was never bored! The only criticism I had was that the show often had too much going on at the same time. Synchronized swimmers on the right, actors in the middle, and dancing/aerobics on the left? Sometimes I’d hear applause to find I’d missed something because I was looking at another part of the stage. :(
Compared to KÀ, I liked KÀ better, but I think I have a preference for stories. However, nothing can match the water stunts in O. Also, you never knew what to expect so I was kept on the edge the whole time. I never found myself waiting for O to end. :)
Totally recommend if you are coming to Vegas!

an ODE to «O».
The theatre is vast and grand.
Ushers welcome guests and lend a hand.
Seats are comfy and not too low.
Sit back and enjoy the show.
Performers are clothed with grace.
A bit of make-up covers their face.
Dancing and jumping showcase their arts.
Each plays their own critical part.
The audience smiles with pure delight.
As the cast swims or takes flight.
The stage is set wet and dry.
With a cast of young gals and guys.
My mom and brother did relent.
Family time was very well spent.
We all enjoyed this magnificent show.
Our hearts and minds certainly aglow.
NOTE: The «O» Theatre is located near the Bellagio Buffet. The «O» shop is located just outside of the entrance. I would advise being on time as guests may not be allowed immediately into the theatre after the show begins (as advised in the email I received confirming the ticket purchase).
BOTTOM LINE: Sit back and enjoy the show! It was awesome!

‘O’ was my second Cirque du Soleil performance, but there is no way to compare it to the Beatles show. They are very different from each other, although both worth seeing.
What was the major advantage of this show is a water setting. It is truly beautiful and enables performers to do acrobatics that are not possible in other shows such as synchronized swimming and water jumping. It is rumored that some of the cast are former Olympic athletes. However, it must be noted that ‘O’ doesn’t have any conventional plot. It takes place in a kind of magical realm and it’s sometimes very hard to see any connection between two particular scenes. Sadly, this made me less attentive to the show as a whole. The costumes were pieces of art by themselves, truly extraordinary! And the acrobatics were amazing and breathtaking, especially Russian swing, Washington trapeze and high dives. Wow! What this people can do… it’s nearly hard to belive and sometimes scary to watch!
What I didn’t like was abovementioned lack of plot which made the show kind of boring after a while. Without a story that adds a new dimension to the act it gets less and less interesting with every minute. Also the comedians acts were mediocre — sometimes funny, sometimes nearly cringeworthy. All in all, it was still a beautiful thing to watch. I would gladly watch all the Cirque du Soleil performances in Vegas if I could :).

I have a confession. This was the ONLY Cirque Du Soleil show i didn’t fall asleep watching. I have a habit of falling asleep at these type of shows. I don’t know why, maybe it’s cause there’s not talking involved and it’s hard to follow. However, this show was pretty cool. most of the performances takes place in the water. It’s great seeing it with all the acrobats combined. You can enter early an look at some art work and grab some snacks. Come on time, because they start on time. Those who sit in the front, will get wet so be prepared. I had the balcony seat right in front of the railing. I’m pretty petite, so the usher gave me and my friend a cushion to look over. Super nice of him! I would recommend this show to everyone. Just remember there is not photography allowed.

THE BEST
I’ve been fortunate to have seen some other similar style shows in Las Vegas; Mystere, Ka, La Reve, Zarkana. This is, by far, the best of the ones I’ve seen. It’s a combination of acrobats and water feats that will have you gasp at times, and wow at others. It was visually stunning and how a story line that seemed easier to follow than the other shows I’ve seen. There is some audience participation, although some of it was obviously staged. I would see this again if given the opportunity.
Do yourself a favor. If you’re in Vegas, see the show. Make an evening of it. You won’t regret it.

Overall this was probably the #2 Cirque that i’ve seen (out of 6) so I guess that’s pretty good. However, the one-act-show left me a bit underwhelmed towards the end.
(+2) The stage. The costumes. The skits. Holy moly this was one amazing setup.
(+1) The water acts (I know, i know you’re sitting there thinking «no shit sherlock, it’s „O“») are breathtaking. The diving is amazing and the synch girls are mesmerizing to say the least.
(+1/-1) This show is so darn expensive. I hope this means that the caliber of artists is better but that didn’t seem to be the case. Saving grace was the discount for staying at the Bellagio.
(-1) The acrobatics seemed soul-less and lackluster. I’m not sure If i was spoiled by seeing many other Cirque compositions in the past but I was just expecting a little more.
(-1) Did I already mention how ridiculously expensive this show is? A $ 20 «slurpee» (although deliciously sugary) seems a bit much, even by Bellagio standards.
Overall: I wouldn’t want to see it a second time but would definitely recommend newbies to see the show!

I’ve been wanting to watch this show for so many years and I was so excited to finally watch it. It’s located in the Bellagio Hotel. The theater is spacious and there are people to assist you to find your seats. You can purchase snacks and beverages. They have popcorn, cookies, muffins, pretzel, coffee, tea, latte, espresso, ice cappuccino, ice mocha, ice latte, and fountain drinks.

We got a bag of chips and a bottle of water.
:Seats:
We sat on section 102 Row D Seats 11 and 12. It was a good seat but a little too close. I read some review that suggested to sit in the middle so you will get a view of the entire performance. I also read the box seats are nice.
:Experience:
Before entering the theater you are welcomed by many statues representing the show. After we bought some snacks we walked towards the main entrance and one of the staff assisted us with finding our seats. As we waited for the show to start, there were two clowns that entertained everyone. They were following people and being silly. I couldn’t really follow the story but there was a lot of activities. What I enjoyed the most was the aquatic performances. There were synchronized swimmers and acrobats. The divers performed above and in the water. During the intermissions two funny clowns would entertain the crowd; they were funny. The stage totally «wow’d» me!

I give it 4 Stars because I found myself a little bored at some moments of the show. I expected more action to happen. Would I watch it again? No but it’s a nice show to experience. I loved the stage and the enjoyed the aquatics performance.
