Capoeira Mandinga Las Vegas, is a school of Capoeira that combines Capoeira Regional, Capoeira Angola, and Miudinho. We train vigorously to improve skill, physical endurance, mental strength, and self-​expression. Throughout the year, in addition to our routine training, we host special workshops in Capoeira, dance and percussion, attend special events throughout the states and abroad, and put on shows throughout the community.



Our group hosts special Capoeira events to promote an exchange in skill, arts, culture and celebration among the local and international Capoeira community. These events consist of Capoeira, dance and music workshops, discussion panels, student promotion ceremonies, performances, and of course, in the true spirit of Brazilian culture, celebration parties. Capoeira Mestres (Masters) and students travel from around the world to participate.

History

Established in 2002.

Capoeira Mandinga Las Vegas was established by Mestre (Master) Paulo Batuta. It was the First Capoeira Academy in Las Vegas. For twelve years Mestre Paulo Batuta has been the «conductor» of not only a strong capoeira school, but also of bringing Fine Arts and the culture of Brazil to the community.

In 2008 Professor Caroço Under the direction of Mestre Paulo Batuta began running Capoeira Madinga Las Vegas. Professor Caroço has dedicated his time and efforts to teaching classes at the academy and after school programs. Capoeira Mandinga Las Vegas performs at many festivals and charitable events. Along with Professor Caroco, there are 5 other instructors who are educated in the history, traditions, customs, and etiquette of Capoeira.

Capoeira Mandinga Las Vegas is the Premier Capoeira School in Las Vegas. We have strong history, strong community involvement, and positive role models.

Professor Caroço had his first contact with Capoeira in 1998. He later joined Capoeira Mandinga in 2002 in Las Vegas, Nevada under the instruction of Mestre Paulo Batuta.

In September 2005 Caroço moved to Guam and with the permission of Mestre Marcelo Pereira, founded Capoeira Mandinga Guam. In 2008 Under the direction of Mestre Paulo Batuta. Professor Caroço began running Capoeira Mandinga Las Vegas. Since then Professor Caroço has worked actively to provide Capoeira classes to anyone who wanted to learn.

While serving his country Professor Caroço started a Capoeira group for the troops in a deployed location in support of operation enduring freedom and operation New dawn. he has volunteered along with other troops from the 452 logistics Readiness Squadron to provide relief from Hurricane Sandy.

Professor Caroço volunteers and teaches classes in after school programs to help provide a positive activity for kids to help keep them off the streets and away from bad influences.
