I have been coming to Baca’s for about 2 years. I never have anything major but I knew he is honest. I just left there with serious major work and starting with the quote, timing and work all was beyond great. Mike, Matt and the crew are busy, all the time. The one thing they will give you is an honest assessment of what might be wrong along with the proper course of action. If it doesn’t need to be fixed, they will advise you not to do it. Never will they do work to make a buck as they want your business for life. Certain things in life are invaluable, a good doctor and an honest mechanic. I would never consider going anywhere else.

Mike Baca did a great job finishing the rebuild of the 700R4 transmission on my ’67 Camaro RS. The shop in San Francisco that started the rebuild didn’t finish the job correctly — the new tranny leaked and the shifts were a bit too positive. Luckily, I found Baca’s Transmission on the national member list of warranty shops that covered the workmanship on my new transmission for 12 months /12K miles. After the tranny fix, my MSD Ignition controller gave out on the way home, so I had the car towed back to Baca’s to replace it. While they were waiting for a new controller from the parts store, one of Baca’s techs adjusted my brake light switch(it was loose) which I really appreciated. I appreciate a shop that cares about little things like that. One year later, my ’67 earned a consignment spot at the 2011 Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas auction, and it ended up being sold overseas. If I ever have drivetrain issues on another vehicle, I will definitely give Mike a call.
