Alligator Soup

In the past Alligator Soup has been a great place to find stationery, cards, or even a nice pen for my dad. I cannot say the same since my last visit. During the first week of January, I went into Alligator soup to inquire about baby shower invitations. I’ve used Alligator Soup in the past for my wedding invitations so I thought this would be an easy task. However, I’ve never been so insulted in all my life. I was helped by Helen and she didn’t give the customer service I would have expected. First, she seemed to rush me through the process. I realize that I came in around 5:30 but there was time and if you want to make a sale, you spend a few extra minutes. While she rushed me, I saw a set of invitations I liked and wanted to see the samples. I was told that I shouldn’t keep touching them so I wouldn’t «soil» them. First, I’m not a 6 year old child who has «soiled» hands and second, that is rude to say to someone since it implies that I’m dirty. Helen treated me poorly because she thought I wasn’t going to buy anything and wasting her time. Also, when I asked questions about the invitations, she looked at me like I was stupid for asking the questions. I’m sorry if I’m not an expert in creating invitations but excellent customer service makes the customer feel good about the purchase, not horrible. It has been a long time since I was treated so poorly and when I confronted Helen about it, all she could say was that she was tired, didn’t eat lunch, and drank too much soda. I at least would have respected her for being honest and saying that she thought I was wasting her time or that she was having a bad day. Helen could have salvaged the experience with a sincere apology instead of excuses. Needless to say, I purchased the invitations but instead of paying the $ 40+ extra dollars to have Alligator Soup print them, I went to Office Max and had them printed for $ 17. So FYI, if you do purchase invitations from Alligator Soup, get them printed at Office Max or Depot. They look fabulous and you will get it done for less than ½ the price. What really floors me is that I found out later that Helen is part owner of Alligator Soup which makes this whole incident truly disappointing. If you are the owner and have a stake in every sale, why would you treat a customer so poorly and worst of all, not really care that you did. Honestly, I would recommend that you never set foot in Alligator Soup since all they are interested in is money and not the customer.

Alligator soup was fantastic !! Helen helped me pick out beautiful wedding invitations! She was very helpful and had all the answers! I recommend them to anyone planning a event !!!

Recently used them for Wedding invitations and announcements. I had the files on my computer but needed them to print them. They were very helpful with suggestions for how to word everything and got my order printed up quickly. Would definitely use them again.

****WARNING***** Rude as all hell as if our $ 2000 plus dollars was not good for them at all. But that’s ok we found a place that did.
I wish I can give them a –100 000 stars. When coming in for a scheduled consultation for one of the most important days of your lives you expect people to be caring, inviting, helpful and super nice to you right? Well don’t expected here.

We came here from a recommendation from a friend who knew one of the owners with high remarks and boy were we shut down and disappointed.
The lady that we were suppose to come in and see completely ignored us for 30 straight minutes and when I finally decided to let her know politely that I was there for an appointment (as if I was just there to listen to her carry on her none money making conversation about nothing with her friend or whoever it was) she was completely RUDE. She continued to not acknowledge us to the point where my bride to be was almost in tears I was so angry and walked out.

I’m behind in writing this review, but I truly feel that this shop deserves recognition even if it is late in coming.
We went in with no appointment to speak with someone about our wedding invitations, and Joanne was able to sit down with us that day and help us pick, personalize, and purchase all of our wedding stationary. I cannot even express how much stress she took off my shoulders with how easy she made it for us. I had ordered samples from several online companies, but I didn’t really want to diy my invites. I was also sure that-​even with all the samples-​I was missing something because NOTHING I found was even close to what I was imagining for our elegant, autumn wedding. I was right. She has about a hundred HUGE style books, more font styles than you could ever imagine, and even more shades of every color of the rainbow for both of those. There are also rules of etiquette that go along with formal stationary about which I knew nothing. With Joanne’s very patient, expert guidance we selected and customized absolutely gorgeous invites that perfectly reflected our personalities and the tone of the wedding. I was SO excited when we finished the mock ups and placed the order. We got the proofs a few days ago, and I can barely stand the wait-​they are AMAZING! We could not be happier!
It’s a little early, but I cannot wait to work with the ladies at Alligator Soup again… maybe for our baby shower ;)

I have used this place in the past for invitations but just recently I discovered how much more they have to offer! Not only do they have the largest selection of stationary and invitations, they have a eclectic variety of gifts, candles, jewelry and cookware! Their customer service is second to none! I wish there were more businesses like you!

I cannot rave about this place enough! The lady who owns it (Helen) is just so sweet and helped me so much with a fountain pen I bought on Amazon. She answered all of my questions and was no pushy about anything. She genuinely wanted to help even if I didn’t buy anything and I appreciate that. I will definitely come here for all of my calligraphy needs and would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!

This store is amazing, they did our save the dates and wedding invitations. The wedding invites turned out so beautiful they ended up using them at tradeshows as examples. They were kind and incredibly patient with me, love them and would use them again!

Just stopped by and after I entered was told by an unsmiling woman that «We’re closed, we closed at 6.» I noted it was ten of six and my item was quick. «I have three of six.» was the response. Understood. I am posting this as my iPhone says 5:56. Most importantly, there are other stores on the planet and an internet. I won’t be back even if you actually decide to keep your posted hours.

Frankly, this seemed like a place old ladies might shop. In addition to the unorganized, oddball gift selections they also offer custom order invitations. Didn’t see a particular brand they carried and they didn’t appear to do them in-​house by hand, but had several samples out to view.
Prices are all over the place with various baskets of junk marked with clearance prices and high regular prices on items I can’t imagine buying. Very bizarre selection.

Let’s start off with how crazy this store is … So much unorganized things everywhere! There is hardly any room to move through due to the small isles and un opened boxes laying around.
Had an appointment to get some wedding invites, when I arrived I was told to wait cause she was busy. What is the point of an appointment if I have to sit around and wait?
Anyways when I finally sat down there was hardly any communication of price, design, color or anything like that. I was handed a book and told look at that and book mark what you like. I found something I liked way out of my budget and was hope they had something similar cheaper … The lady must have not known what she was doing cause she just kept showing me things out of my budget. I got so irritated I left with nothing, her lack of costumer service costed her many costumers!!! I will not recommend this place to anyone

Nice shop, lots of gift ideas.
I was just in and my credit card was declined. I went home and called the company. I am not maxed out and my payment was not late. The error was with Alligator Soup’s system. My bank said that the attempted charge never showed. So it could not have been declined. The problem was at the stores end.
I did call the store and let them know what my bank said. If you are going to shop there take more than one card, or take cash. Hopefully their problems will be resolved soon!

Got our invitations and they came out perfect! They are even addressing the envelopes for us so it is literally hassle free. They are great and we will definitely be coming here for our other paper goods needed for the wedding.
