Very cute little shop. What I liked the most? When I asked them if they knew if they had any items by a particular designer, they were very friendly and knew exactly what they had and where. :) Gave the right amount of service to be helpful and let me peruse at my leisure. Love that they have some cool vintage items in here too. I live in San Francisco and it is definitely worth the trip up to Larkspur.

I love Whatpoppywants! There are so many treasures to discover. There is a great selection of wonderful items-​the purses are tempting. Laura is always sweet and helpful. She is very engaged and I enjoy seeing her when I visit. This is a great place to consign your goodies as well. Check it out and find something you love there!

Fun on trend designer cute stuff in here! The owner is so much fun. Loved chatting with her. It’s like going treasure hunting. You never know what you will find!!! It’s not the cheapest but excellent quality! Took off one star because she sold some of my things and I waited too long to get the $ and then when I remembered and tried to get $ she couldn’t find my info and didn’t pay me. That is my only issue. Just don’t wait too long when she sells your item. Great place to shop at and find something cute.

I am a 23 year old hair stylist and bartender here in Marin and I am so upset I only just found this place. Not your usual hand me down consignment store at all. Beautiful antique dresses, shoes, jewelry and more. The lady I worked with was super helpful and I was stoked on the full outfit I got for a reasonable price. Can’t wait to head back to grab some vintage boots.

Super expensive stuff. The owner scoped me out when I walked in the store and I felt singled out. I felt like Julia Roberts in the Pretty Woman Rodeo Drive shopping scene. I might have bought something if I didn’t feel so watched. Nothing that really caught my eye, but I wasn’t really given a chance to look. If you have a lot of money to spend, you drive a fancy car and you dress like you’re on vacation in the Bahamas, by all means come to this store. However, if you’re working class like me, give another one of the thrift stores in the area a try.

Interesting selection of clothes, shoes and bags. My experience was dulled, however, by the inattentive sales associate and the fact that NOTHING IS ORGANIZED BY SIZE. What a pain! When I asked the sales associate why this was she case she got all huffy and said that the clothing is organized by vintage and by designer.
Would it really be that hard to create some semblance of order on the racks?
Aside from the organization issues I think this is a store worth visiting; even if it is only to check it out one time.

I must say, I am a «Poppy» addict, and drop in every few weeks.
I ALWAYS find some great vintage garment there, and at really good price (e.g. an Anne Fontaine of Paris blouse for $ 65 — which usually retails for @ $ 300).

A lovely shop with beautiful, brand-​name clothes and accessories for women. I’d say the majority of items are unique, dressy, fun, or stylish. I bought a pretty black cardigan with an elegant (but fun) front ruffle at the neckline for about $ 60. I prefer to buy things that will last longer than a season or two so I don’t mind paying more for higher quality second-​hand clothing.

Quality Over Quantity! The best place to consign and buy consignment on this side of the bay!
MY EXPERIENCE
Unfortunately, over the years, I have inherited a ton of vintage clothing and shoes that I have no use for. What do you do when your trash is treasure? Take it to Poppy’s and make some money!
I like WPW because they sell nearly everything they’ve taken from me — Pikalos, Burberry, Coach, and some Italian leathers I cannot recall. My only complaint is that I have trouble simply selling clothing here without wanting to buy one of many beautiful vintage bags.
Oh the bags — so out of my price range but very much in my style. How I wish I could drop $ 800 or even $ 600 on a Prada, Gucci, Hermese, or Burkie. Lucky for me, they also have a section of bags that are within my price range.
WHAT I LOVE
I love that my goods sell. I love that even when my stuff doesn’t sell here, anything that the owner has chosen to try to sell will sell somewhere else — it’s like they’re psychic!
Anyway, I’ll be back again and again because I like that good vintage that makes people stop and ask me — «hey, where did you get that?»
WHAT I DON’T LOVE
They are so selective that they wouldn’t take my Ferragamos =(I cannot donate these because they cost way too mush — I need them sold (but this is a personal problem, so I will not hold it against them)… Also, Valerie sold her store and I miss her =(The good news is that the new owner has a good eye too.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! Grab your «bestie» and make an afternoon out of shopping for vintage treasures. They have amazing merchandise and now twice I have felt the belle of the ball with dresses I have purchased here! They also have fantastic purses, shoes and other accessories.

I’ll keep it short: you will find amazing shit here. From the extensive selection of new & vintage cowboy boots to Hermes handbags to gently worn designer and vintage clothing. Prices are reasonable for an upscale, extremely curated shop. This ain’t Goodwill.
The owner, Valerie is a true tastemaker. Honestly, I kind of want her life. She gets to spend all day in an amazing store filled with amazing clothes and one-​of-​a-​kind finds. Here’s just a small sample of what I’ve purchased in the past couple of years I’ve been perusing the racks at What Poppy Wants:
— Vintage 40’s hat from the Warner Brother’s Costume Department
— Dresses from the 50s
— Practically unworn wool wide leg Armani trousers that fit like a dream
— A fucking GORGEOUS wide leg 60s psychedelic print jumpsuit from I. Magnin. Literally made my life to find this one
So yeah, I’ll keep coming all the way to Marin just to shop here. This place beats most (if not all) consignment stores in San Francisco hands down!

My teen daughters and I were thrilled to come across What Poppy Wants… not your average consignment shop! There are some amazing high-​end vintage dresses that are worth the trip just to see those. However, there are also a good assortment of every day clothing and jewelery. We will be back and often! We are moving to Petaluma so glad we can be nearby.

They have a really cute selection of clothes ranging from $ 45 on up. I can’t justify spending that much on used clothes, despite the brand. So I headed over to Sugar Magnolia and got a smart looking jacket for $ 10.

From the first time I walked into What Poppy Wants and was greeted by Poppy and Valerie, I knew I was in the right spot for me! From the day Valerie opened, I have been bringing items that needed a new home, and leaving with items meant for me! Original and creative merchandising keeps me coming back whether to just admire the latest treasures or to visit with the wonderful trio of ladies who share their expertise and enthusiasm. Whether vintage or not so vintage, there’s always a treasure to admire! A wonderful place to shop and to sell! Thank you!

This place is great! Just picked up a beautiful coach bag and belt, L.A.M.B sweater/​cardigan and another great purse. The selection of boots are fantastic.
She has a great pair of Prada suede boots I have my eyes on!!! Great vintage cowboy boots. Everything is high end and excellent quality. Super nice owner and sales staff.
This place is a must see!

Last summer, I was moving and purged my closet. As a result I brought an Armani tuxedo, an Armani suit, a few designer dresses, silk blouses, leather jackets and a suede wrap around skirt into the shop. A month or so later, I went in and saw that none of my clothes were out on the floor. Another visit produced the same result. There was no record of my transaction, and I was told that meant that NOTHING had sold. I never saw a dime! I never got a phone call about pricing or results, though I left a phone number and my name when I left my items. Anyway, next time I have nice clothes that I am ready to part with, I will just give them to women who need and can use them through a local charity. At least then I’ll feel helpful instead of feeling taken. Seems like What Poppy Wants, Poppy Gets…

I’m a fan of What Poppy Wants (WPW) and have been ever since my mother-​in-​law started buying me the most wonderful gifts from there.
Last Christmas I received a nearly new Kismet purse — fire hydrant red, no marks or stains. Just beautiful. I’ve seen them listed for quite a bit on eBay, but my mother-​in-​law swears she didn’t spend a fortune on it. ;)
Another time I was gifted a gorgeous pair of Tiffany & Co. earrings. The little beans in sterling and in perfect condition.
The thing I like best about what I’ve been given, is the variety. WPW is filled with unique, one-​of-​a-​kind goods — from cowboy boots in just about every color under the sun, to vintage Vuitton.
I’ve been coveting my mother-in-law’s purse forever and now I pop into WPW looking for one like it! (Old school Vuitton with grommets — soooo cool).
It’s fun to come across a little boutique like this one, just off the beaten path in Larkspur. It’s a little slice of sophistication meets funk and you’ll be amazed at what you can find.
I think I’ll have to pop by this weekend :)

This is a great vintage/​consignment shop! It is full of unique, quirky and beautiful clothing at great prices. It has an amazing dress, shoe, and jewelry collection.
I found the most adorable strapless dress here for such a steal! I also found a pair of designer jeans that fit me like a glove (this never happens!) and at a really reasonable price.
The owner is really friendly and a big help. If you tell her what you are looking for she will literally find it for you and call when she has it! Talk about customer service! The store is named after her dog, Poppy who is the friendliest dog ever!
What Poppy Wants also takes consignment so it is a great place to sell those great pieces in your closet that you never wear. She consigns clothing and splits the profit with you (so good compared to San Francisco consignment shops that rip you off!).
This is by far my favorite vintage/​consignment shop in the Bay Area because it offers a great selection of clothing (only AMAZING clothing gets the floor space). If you haven’t checked it out, go!
