Buggin Out Termite & Pest Control

This is the most unprofessional pest service. I had them come out in November for a carpenter ant and ghost ant issue. Not only did the person who sprayed not move ANYTHING before spraying, but they never even got rid of my ant problem.
The first time he came out, he sprayed all over my pets bed without even having the common courtesy of moving it. He sprayed around baby utensils, such as bottles and a drying rack without removing them from the area. In the next room he started spraying even though my infant daughter was sleeping in the room. I tried to let him know that she was there and asked if that was acceptable but he acted like he didn’t even hear me and kept on spraying right next to my daughters bedding and other children’s things like a miniature fold out couch and toys. I could have easily moved these items if he didn’t want to. He acted as if it was no big deal to be spraying so close to these items. I knew better and was proven right when my dogs bed got covered in the poison while he supposedly «sprayed around» it. I was extremely irritated about this situation but felt I was stuck because it was supposedly a contract deal.
Twelve weeks later I called in because we were still seeing ants everywhere. The lady on the phone, whose personality was not exactly friendly, said the increase in ants should decrease after two weeks. That was not the case. When she realied how long it had been since they sprayed she reccommended that I call back in two days. She also informed that the technician should have used bait for ants. He did not. When I asked why she very curtly said that I could call back in a couple of days and he would come back out.
I scheduled a time for them to come back out and use bait on the house. Not only did they not call me back the same day (a Friday because I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and waited some extra days), but they call me back Monday evening. I scheduled a time for them to come out. The technician was running an hour late that day and I had plans so I had to cancel. Two days later he actually did come out and started spraying AGAIN. I was already irritated that he sprayed my dogs bedding the last time he was here. He also just started spraying even though my two children (age 2 years and 3 months) were in the room, AGAIN. In addition I was trying to get him to let me move things I didn’t want sprayed, knowing the terrible job he did last time. He waved me off claiming he would just spray around them. Yeah, like last time, right? You guessed it. He sprayed some of my infant daughter’s bedding. In the kitchen he «sprayed around» a pineapple! That is food that my family and I were going to ingest! If he «sprayed around» it as well as he «sprayed around» my child’s bedding, then I am pretty sure we will be throwing away that pineapple.
I was irate by this point and very angry that I was «Stuck» in a contract with the awful business and that he had permanently ruined a pillow that I had made my daughter myself. I asked him to leave the premises and that I wanted out of this contract. He did apologize, and I know he didn’t mean to, but that is no excuse. Especially since I was trying to get him to let ME do the moving of items since he was clearly to lazy to do so.
I called the lady and was explaining my situation and that I wanted out of my contract. She was asking the man in the background why he was even spraying for ants since they were supposed to bait for ants. She had a irritable tone over the phone (directed towards me of course) and was not pleasant to deal with in general. She told me that she «didn’t know what to say» and that they «should move things before spraying.» I told her that I felt that I should be reimbursed for my service and that I wanted to cancel my contract. She claimed she would not reimburse me for my service in November. I think she forgets to take into account that I am now out money for a very expensive dog bed and the sentimental value of my daughter’s bedding that I made. I suppose I should just send them a bill as I know they would send me a bill if they were out any money. I am unclear on what her stance is for cancelling my contract because I finally got so angry that I hung up on her. I do know the man told me before leaving that I would be released from my contract. I will tell you that I will not pay another bill for this service that was not even done properly or with care either time. I urge you NOT TO USE BUGGIN” OUT PEST CONTROL unless you want this type of service.

We ordered pest control for our Palm Harbor home. We have lived in our house for twelve years and have had various other pest control services treat our property as needed. We pretty much had a good idea of what a good provider did and what a poor provider did both in terms of services and results.
Buggin Out showed up in early January to treat our home as requested. My wife called me at the office concerned because the person who came to our home only spent 5 minutes in our house and only sprayed our kitchen. This is very different from the last time we had someone come out to treat our home. (THE TIME PRIOR — EVERY ROOM IN THE HOUSE WAS TREATED AND IT TOOK OVER ONE HOUR)
Other times after having the house treated we always found dead palmetto bugs (AKA cockroaches) on the floors during the following week. This time — nothing. I figured I had just wasted $ 70 dollars and that I just would not use them again. A short while later I received a call that they were coming back to continue the treatment. My expectation was that they were not finished and perhaps the second treatment may show some results. This time he spent 5 minutes in the garage and said he would be spraying outside. He was gone again in minutes.
The worst part is I received a second bill for $ 70 for this unrequested return visit. Soon after I started receiving collection calls for the second bill. I explained I did not order this second service and that I was completely dissatisfied with service anyway. I explained that we did not see any dead bugs and that we were continuing to see live ones. Even in the silver ware drawer. (yuk) I was rudely told that they know what they are doing and that we probably carried these bugs into our home on our clothing. The person calling was accusatory and rude and only cared about the unpaid bill and would hear nothing about how the service was lacking. She was the expert. Now pay the bill.
When service was ordered I was not told that this was going to be a repeating service and they would come out on a regular basis and bill $ 70 for each visit. It is also not stated in the contract that this was an ongoing billable contract. Long story short — I paid the bill and will now warn all others to find a better company. Terrible attitudes, terrible results, terrible customer service. You can find much, much better.
